I have a 2000 grand prix. The headlight s & tailights are constantly full of condensation. How can I remove the condensation & prevent it from reoccurring? I already replaced one of the tailights & same problem. My moms equinox has same issue. I've heard using hair dryer to dry lights out. Is that safe?
View 3 RepliesSo I've been using the rear window spray a lot since it's been snowing and the salty water/snow/air has covered the rear window a lot and I've been notice water dripping into the rear when I open the hatch but previously thought it was just some snow that melted in/around the hatch area and was dripping. Today I noticed both tail lights that are on the hatch have condensation in them. When I popped the plastic covering on the hatch that you use to replace the bulbs, I noticed there was the blue spray fluid. So I removed the two tail light and I can't seem to figure out how to get the bit of water out of the white and red parts. Do the lens come off any way? I now realize the leaky rear spray thing is a common issue and just ordered the two stupid 50 cent pieces that costs 31 with shipping from ECS

View 2 RepliesAt 4800 miles I noticed condensation, moisture, or water in my tail lights assembly , I took it in for my first check up, provided pictures, the engineers at lexus said this was normal. I said mosture causes corrosion, may cause a short becauce water is a conductive element, and when it dries it will leave contaminates on the inside of the lights, they said all cars have this issue. I explained the my last 8 cars did not have this issue and I have put aftermarket headlights and tail lights on 2 my cars and they did not have this issue. Well the coversation didn't go well, I said if its so common how come its not in the manual, or a disclaimer on the car, what if I told buyers on your lot this was a common issue. I closed with letting them know it was time to let this be known. I also said just like the headlight issue's they will have to do something. The next day they called me and said they would change out the lights this one time. I am sure this not the last time this issue will be seen, the engineering at lexus is just too proud and hate to admit when they have a bad designed until law suits or deaths happen.
View 14 RepliesI have recently bought a 2000 Grand Prix GTP sedan it has the 3.8 series 2 supercharged I believe it's the m90 supercharger when I bought the car I replaced tie rod ends gas tank fuel filter plugs ( AC Delco professionals) and plug wires ( dura last ) plastic elbows for coolant Water pump harmonic balancer and did and ac bypass because it had locked up on me and in doing so ruined the harmonic balancer I run nothing but 93 octane fuel but I'll get to the point when I had bought the car it sat for a year and It had no problems building boost that seemed evident anyways but not when I build boost there is a loss of power like a miss if I go to wot and hold it while it's doing this the SES light will come on and flash at me.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2000 Grand Prix GT with about 125,000 miles on it. Whenever I accelerate gently on the pedal the rpm will waver back and forth, especially between 2000 and 3000 rpm's. It seems to hesitate as the rpm goes down and then surges back and forth almost on one second intervals until I either let go of the pedal or punch it down to kick it into overdrive.
I have had a code in the past that the o2 sensor by the cat convertor was getting messed up readings, can't recall the specific number off hand though. Do you think that these problems could be caused by a bad catalytic convertor? I have smelled the classic rotten egg smell before from my car too, but it didn't seem to smell when I smelled the exhaust tonight. How would I test this myself easily?
I have water in my Jetta's tail lights and its really annoying. I just had them both out on the weekend and checked out the foam gaskets and they were both fine but i replaced them with an older pair I had that looked in even better shape but basically the same condition...
Rained pretty hard last night and now there is like more water in them then before... I made sure I tightened them down good because they were not that tight when I originally took them off.
There is water condensation in my spare tire well and making my carpet wet and starting to fog up my rear windows..
My car works fine two days ago i went to get gas and i used my wipers they worked perfectly fine and i came out the next day and they would not work not even the mist they spraw would work i checked the fuse and its working the spot where the fuse goes in i checked with a voltmeter to check for continuity to see if i am getting a signal of power. My battery is good and everything and i read the owners manual invade it had detail. I have a 2000 Pontiac grand prix GTP supercharged. And i don't know what else to do cause Im not the best with electrical I'm mainly a suspension
View 3 RepliesI just purchased my camry 3 weeks ago and I noticed that water (from rain and car wash) is going into my tail light and head lights. Not a lot of water, just a little bit. Went to the dealership today and they said it's normal for all toyotas and it'll dry out by itself. Is this true?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2000 V6 3400 engine. I had the intake gaskets repaired with the "good metal ones" according to the mechanic I had do the job. Cost me $600. Car still has coolant leak it overheats every 3 days or so. Leaves no puddles under car when parked. Can smell coolant when stopping at stop light or stop sign or when parking car. No obvious coolant running down or pooling on the engine. Sometimes it seems like smell is coming from heat vents but no wet spots on carpet or liquid coming out of vent. Took to mechanic again and he said it was the head gasket leaking. Wants $1100 to fix it. Don't have the money. Was wondering if any of these additives you can get at Autozone Etc. may work. It wouldn't be my first choice but financially it's about all I can do right now.

I drove it home in the rain and when I parked it I noticed bad condensation in the driver side tail light.I have never noticed this before and do not no if it was there when I bought it. Anyways, I did some research about the issue and I found that it is a common problem. I have read that it is normal because it is vented and others say take it to the dealer and get it fixed?

There's been some snow and ice lately and I'm wondering if that's what caused it.
Is there anyway I can get rid of it? Is it from the water getting through the gaskets/seals?
Engine starts then runs for a period of time until it warms up, then fans come on and then EGR clicks on and off every other second , then it eventually quits. Replaced the coolant temp sensor. And it never sets a code. Have checked wiring for shorts and nothing. Is it a ECM going bad?? When trying to drive it , it will only go about a half a block , then quits , Then will start up again.???

View 11 RepliesI got my car from an auction and I apparently had to do work to it and we got most problems fixed but now when i saw my fuse box i saw their wasn't a fuse in the radio so i put on in there and it can on so I thought cool it works so i turned my car off and the radio stayed on and i thought, bad fuse so i got a new fuse put it in and my car was still off and the radio stayed on. So i can't have a radio because my battery will drain. The ignition works i got a new one installed it perfectly my car is a 2000 Pontiac grandprix gtp supercharged. I've only had it for about 3 weeks ...
View 5 RepliesHottest day ever on Planet Earth and my air conditioner in my Pontiac decides to throw hot air in my face! Luckily, for my female companion, she gets ice cold air. This 2002 Grand Prix 40th Anniversary edition has 236,000 miles, I never once had a problem with the air conditioner in the past (have thought about contacting GM asking what they did right in this car)This model has dual climate control. I noticed that in turning the selector knob on the dash climate control panel, there is hot air in the vent, bi-level, heater and defrost, but cold air comes out on the passenger side. The interior temperature functions are all similar on the '97 through '03 models of Grand Prix, just wondered if this is something I can fix, or do I need to visit a Pontiac dealer to have it diagnosed (and spend a lot of money)
View 3 RepliesCode is for tcc stuck on. Code p0741 is tcc stuck off. So, it's a sticky solenoid. Which means it may start out sticking occasionally and progress to sticking more often and finally staying on/off permanently? If u get the code/symptoms 1 time, does it usually mean it will happen again, soon?

It does not vibrate when I turn left. I have new balanced tires, replaced both front tie-rod ends, and the rack and pinion by a certified GMC mechanic. What could be the problem?
View 1 RepliesWe were driving home yesterday and all of the sudden the car started to over heat and we could smell antifreeze. We turned the ac off and put more water in it. Today we just had to make a short trip somewhere (we were planning on having it looked at first thing Monday morning). The temperature gauge never showed it overheating but as we pulled into our driveway we heard a knocking sound and it just shut off. Iit may just be a leak and it caused the car to over heat??

View 5 RepliesWe have a grand prix and had the water pump replaced. Soon after this the fuel pump went out. We replaced it 2 more times within a few weeks. Bought another one and this time the car may have run a period of 4 to 5 months before it went out. We have found by banging on the gas tank, and by turning the car on while someone bangs on it, you can hear the pump come on and start the car. Well, once again this week we have had the pump changed and I was about to leave work and the car would not start. Banging on the tank allowed me to be able to start the car... What is going on with the pumps or what is making them go out...???
