Lately, I've noticed that after rain, passenger side carpet is getting wet. what I should be looking for to fix this. I can say for certainty that it happens only during/after rain.

View 2 RepliesIt happened twice since June when we (central NJ) have had really heavy rains. My front passenger side carpet becomes absolutely soaked, but everything else stays completely dry. Do you think the rubber trim has failed? A regular wash is fine, nothing gets in from that. My car is a 2006 B6 with about 97k on it. It's weird.

When I put the key in the battery and brake light come on and when I try to start it there's a clicking sound from the passenger side and before the lights on the dash would flash but it has just been doing the clicking sound lately. Any guesses on what the problem may be?
View 13 RepliesI have a persistent leak that causes the front passenger carpet to get wet after a heavy rain. Truck went to the dealer under warranty and they resealed the third brake light. Not sure if it ever fixed the problem, but I probably didn't check it as often as I should have after the repair. We've had a few good rain storms and the carpet is getting pretty wet. Since the truck is now out of warranty (2011 F150) I made a new gasket for the third brake light. I think it's pretty well sealed, so I'm thinking the leak is coming from somewhere else.
View 14 RepliesAfter several days of rain I found that the drivers side carpet is soaked. Upon further investigation I realized it was coming from underneath the car rather than from the side. I was able to put my hand under the carpet and feel the metal body underneath. It was soaked. I have never had this problem before and have not been in an accident. The car drives very well and has 130 miles. I recently replaced the transmission and was hoping to have this for a few more years.
View 1 RepliesIn my 07 ES350 I had water on the carpet of the drives side all the way to the backseat! I was gone for a coupla days when this happened and with the heat it sure did have a musky odor when I opened the door!
I have looked all around the sunroof and cleaned the edges could not see anything that would leak although under the sunroof at the front there was water in the tray.
Then I looked all around the windshield. Could not see anything that could cause a leak. Lightly hosed off the car today and had water dripping down the driver side pillar and the covering for the pillar was wet.
This car has never had a leak anywhere until now. Gonna have to have the carpet removed and steam cleaned I guess to get rid of the odor, but not until I stop the leak!!!!
I recently noticed that my passenger side carpet was wet. I took it to the dealer and they had to replace the Sunroof Drain Hose. Didn't realize that the sunroof had to be drained...Hmm anyway, they had to take practically all of the interior out in order to replace the hose. It took two days for them to finish. Unfortunately, I turned it in on a Friday and of course, the dealer was not open on the weekend. So I got a rental car from the dealer and what did they have.....a stupid chevy s10 pickup...I would think that they would rent out a VW. Well no real moral to my story just wanted to share the problem I had.

Passenger side front under carpet is wet. I pulled the carpet back and I could squeeze quite a bit of water from the foam backing.
The water was NOT red/pink in color and no smell.
I saw the a/c drain hose. PICTURE below. It seem clear and plugged into the floor pan.

I am at a loss. Is there a second a/c drain hose other than that black tube?
Some post says it could be moon roof leak. Where is the drain hose for that? My headliner etc is not wet! nor is the driver side.

View 4 Replies2002 Nissan Maxima w/ 134,000 mi. Driver side wiper blade squeaks mercilessly when windshield wet. I've: changed blades twice; cleaned blades & windshield thoroughly with alcohol; w/ ammonia; with vinegar, for each using paper towels and also tried with newspaper; cleaned windshield dry with baking soda. Baking soda seemed to work at first but soon returned to previous squeakiness. It's driving me nuts and the wet weather is around the corner!
View 7 RepliesJust noticed the passenger side floor has water frozen on carpet. There is no evidence of water on the sides or from the dash area. I reached under the car and I can see 2 holes, one of them is plugged with a rubber grommet/plug and the other I can stick my finger way up into it. My wife has been driving this in the rain a couple days last week.
Is that a possible source for the water getting in? Can I order a replacement plug if it fell out?
I just did read something about a "sealing cover" and I matched against the driver side and it does appear to be missing. Seems to be a round 40mm plug. I measured the driver side and plug is 40mm and the hole is more like 25mm. Is this the right part?
I have found indicate blocked drains for the sunroof, cabin air filter and battery etc. - all related to rain (we have had no rain for a week but have we been using our a/cs!).
The water seems to be coming in from around the lower left corner of the glove box (the glove box itself is dry) - I assume I have a blocked drain - where it is and how to access/clean it?
Just noticed this today. Carpet behind driver side (US model, 07, 150k miles) is wet! Does not smell dormant, and seems "soapy." Did not have rain, car is garage kept, windows never left open, did not go through car wash recently whereby water would have seeped in, have not had rain, nor have driven through rain recently.
View 7 RepliesSo now that heat of summer is here, I have been running the AC and noticed a problem. The carpet under the floor mat on the passenger side is wet. It is not from the rain but only after I run the AC. There is a good amount of water in the carpet. The condensation also runs out from under the truck like normal. Any fix to keep me from spending money at the dealer? 2011 F150 XLT.

View 3 RepliesSo I just bought a used 2012 Honday Odyssey and I noticed that anytime I take it out for a drive and return home, the front passenger side floor carpet is slightly damp. So is the carpet on the floor of the luggage compartment at the back of the vehicle. I've also noticed that the drivers side carpet smells a bit like gas when this happens.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 Chevy Equinox that has developed an odd issue. For about a month, after a good rain, I have a puddle of water in the floor carpet of the front passenger side - while parked. It develops from the center of the car to about the middle of the floor below the seat. So since that is the case I don't think the side window is leaking but I have looked for signs of water coming in. Nothing. The windshield was replaced about 5 years ago but again, no signs that water is coming in from there either. It can't be from the bottom of the car, right? I mean it happens while it is parked, so that doesn't make sense.
View 6 RepliesI discovered my passenger side carpet was a little damp not bad but was wet. I hosed down the window, windshield, door, and the sunroof areas and didn't see any water coming in!? The only thing I've noticed, when running the AC it seems to have "more" water coming down the frame area but not totally sure but sure seems like a lot more than I remember! Just wondering if, when driving down the road, that the water from the AC is coming in somehow?? Again, the carpet isn't completely soaked but damp, even up under the glove box area on the carpet. Heater core?
