Nissan Frontier 2004 with v6, air, automatic 4x4.... I only have luke warm air coming into my truck. The switch on dash switches from defrost to floor or thru dash . Was thinking maybe a switch under dash not working maybe, but do not know where to start looking.

View 3 RepliesI am having a heat problem...first my temp gauge never goes above 160...second...my return heater hose is not hot...my upper radiator hose is tight when I squeeze it.
View 7 RepliesMy manual heat/cold adjustment dial is working fine and transitions from heat to cold readily. However when in max heat, it is blowing luke warm. The higher the RPMs going down the road the warmer it blows (still not near as hot as normal), then idling at stop lights or in park it goes back to warm only.
My engine temperature is running normal at all RPM levels while driving and idling. Partially clogged heater core maybe, where higher RPMs force more water through it? I assume its not the water pump or thermostat since my operating temperature is staying normal...
I am working on this 99 Nissan and the issue is that the gauge shows the truck is over heating ,so we changed the thermostat ,the temp sending unit and that other thing next to that,and flushed the coolant system and bleed the system with new antifreeze and fresh water for the correct mixture..The truck still says its over heating ,the top hose hot and the bottom hose not anything more then it is when the truck hasn't been running.The truck starts right up and seems to run very well,then the gauge maxes right out and then wait for it to cool according to the temp gauge and drive a bit more,with in a mile its over heating again according to the gauge..I checked the oil and its perfectly fine and normal !I am so lost here,the radiator is like new and the clutch fan works right ,checked all the hoses and they are not collapsing ,water pump replaced a year ago...

View 8 RepliesI have a 98 frontier 4 cil. 4x4 manual transmission. The CE light is on telling me that the evap system needs work. I replaced the purge canister valve and now the light wont go off at all. You can clear it all you want, as soon as the truck starts the light come back on.The truck also runs rough, bucks at certain RPMS has no power and bad gas mileage. Within the last two years I have replaced; catalytic converter, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap & rotter, transmission and clutch, air filter, cleaned the MAF sensor.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2002 Nissan Frontier that a had a buddy perform a tune up. Now my buddy has disappeared and my truck miss fires on start up and occasionally looses power when you drive it. I also noticed that It consumes more gas. I went from 305 miles on a 17 gallon tank to 230 miles.
View 12 RepliesI have notice that I am loosing coolant some were so I got up under truck I notice coolant is coming out of the a/c drip hose. Is that a sign the heater coil bad. Truck is a 1997 Nissan pickup 2.4 liter with 251.0000 mile. floor on passenger side is dry as a bone. Heater work great, but I notice when I run heater I have to add coolant more. If heater coil is bad can I just take the two hoses off coil and hook together I know that I will not have heat. But will it effect AC....
View 1 RepliesI drive a 2008 Nissan Frontier, bought new in Nov. 2007 with 53,000 miles on it. A few months ago, at about 50,000 miles, an annoying clattering noise started coming out of the dash. The noise was coming from the vent area of the passenger side dash and occurs when I start the vehicle or adjust the AC from Max to norm. I went online and found that the noise occurs in many of the full size Nissan SUVs, and is a failing Vent Actuator part. Doing further research, I learned, the part is fairly cheap, but buried in the dash and difficult to get to.
Of course that means that labor is very expensive to replace this part. Nobody seems to want to take the time to replace the part, except the dealer who wants $500 labor to do it. I have found dash diagrams and since it is cooling off lam thinking about taking on the project myself. With the vehicle having such low mileage, and little stress being put on the part, I feel that the part is of low quality and replacement should be covered on some kind of warranty. Nissan probably feels it is not a safety issue, but the noise is very annoying, and certainly lowers the value of my vehicle, that has otherwise been pampered and in like new condition.
I've got an 06 Nissan Frontier and whenever the weather is cold (40s and under) I hear a clinking noise that appears to be coming from the steering column or the dashboard. It usually gets better after I drive it awhile. It doesn't seem to be affecting my truck, but it does have me curious. What this may be.
View 13 RepliesMy car doesn't blow hot air. the temperature gauge goes up to half way like it normally operates at but the air never get more than luke warm. I changed the thermostat last year with no better results and I just had the timing belt and water pump replaced in July. It been an average of 8 degrees here for the last week.

MY 2000 Ford F150 4.2L v6 is running cold. I bought it this summer and it ran a hair above the cold line on the temp gauge. Now that it is cooling off it doesn't come off the cold line. I have drove it for an hour and it never move. The heat is barely warm. I thought it may have been a stuck open thermostat so I changed it out with a 195 and it did not work. I can let the truck run parked for 15 minutes and still be able to grab the hose leading down to the thermo. What is wrong? The guy I bought it from used it to pull a small boat. He said it started running hot when he would pull with it so he had a new radiator, thermo and clutch fan installed. Then he said the truck ran on the colder side. Now the thing just runs plain cold!
View 1 RepliesI have a SF 2009 Limited. Since I bought it 2 years ago, I noticed the heater blows luke warm air. Not hot. It takes 20min for the cabin to reach 22degC when it's only 0 outside.
It was like that when brand new.
It has the auto temp control, so it might be playing tricks on me but I don't think so.
I am tempted to find the pipe feeding the heater radiator and insulate the pipes. Maybe the heater only gets warm liquid.
What else can I do?
I have a weird issue on my 2008 Elantra. The heater starts blowing luke warm/cold air after running for about 1 hour or so and stays like that.
View 9 RepliesJust went on a trip to SC. It was hot as hell - 100F most of the trip. The a/c would blow cool (not exactly cold) for a while and then go luke warm (way better than outside but not particularly refreshing) for a while. So I was reasonably comfortable but definitely not cold.
This would happen about every 15-30min where I felt like the compressor had stopped working for a while. I am thinking the compressor is probably limping along and about to die. Usually I thought these things just up and die though. Clogged accumulator? IDK - nothing has been done to the a/c system since 2009 head gaskets.
It blows luke warm air, no hot or no AC just luke warm... what could it be?
View 1 RepliesWell I was recharging my a/c yesterday because the system was low so I used one of them 24oz cans and now I am getting cold air out of my passenger side and luke warm air out of my driver side vents. Also if I switch to the different vents I don't get anything out of the floor only. I get air out when I select it, but it's coming out of the defrost. Other than that everything else works just fine, just no floor. I've read issues with the blend doors but my vehicle doesn't have the dual climate controls so I'm at a loss...
View 4 RepliesWhen my hvac controls are turned to hot, I'm getting only luke warm air. When moved over to cold it feels like the a/c is on...granted it is 21 degrees here. What I've done so far:
1. Flushed the coolant system at the local COOP TBA
2. Flushed heater core-Both heater hoses are hot to the touch as well as the heater core itself. The hoses are within 10 degrees of each other tested by an infrared temp gauge.
3. Verified the blend door actuator is moving. I can see it spin while attached to the box as well as I pulled it out and plugged it in it will move from hot to cold.
4. Smacked the #$%! out of the blend door box.
The fan still functions as it should from low to high. The truck also gets up to operating temp as usual.
Is it possible the actuator is still faulty even though it moves and not going all the way to the heat side? I considered picking up a replacement but I hate to start throwing parts at it.
Did the blend door give up? The snow is here and I need the heat for those 4am waterfowl hunting trips.
The car is not presenting any heat to the passenger compartment...mechanics suspect problem with "blend doors"...seems expensive to remove the dashboard on an 18 year old vehicle...
View 6 RepliesI have a '99 Nissan Frontier 4cyl. p'up and the air conditioner kept going off. The truck has three drivebelts, all inline. The first is Crankshaft to the Power steering pump , the second goes from Crankshaft to the water-pump & the alternator and the third one goes to the air-conditioning compressor; the one that keeps coming off my truck & shutting down the A.C. I replaced it three times and the last time it went off within a couple of miles. I know the crankshaft and the A.C. compressor pulley's are out of line and believe that's my problem. A mechanic friend of mine looked at it and said he thought it was something called a belt-leveler that keeps all the belts from slipping off.
