Nissan - Altima :: 2011 - Water Inside Passenger Door
May 25, 2013
I have water inside the passenger door of my 2011 Nissan Altima. I can hear it sloshing whenever I make a turn, start, or stop. I'm concerned that this will rust out the door. How can I get it out of there?

I went to a big box store to have new tires put on the rear of my 2002 Nissan Altima. They told me I had a stud broken from the inside of the wheel. The lug nut is still attached, and they can't get the wheel off. Both the stud and the nut turn freely within the socket. Is there any way to get this off without having to pay the $70 a tire place will charge me to fix it? I don't know how long its been like this. I currently have three new tires and one old.

My '11 Prius has developed a problem where the rear passenger door will not open from the inside. It will open from the outside. All other doors function as they should.

I had new tires put on my 2011 Altima around 35,000 miles. I started noticing a hum, so I checked the mechanic notes and they said I had a bent right rear rim. So, I had them replace it immediately. The hum (which only happens specifically at 40mph and at 75 mph) remained so I attributed it to new tires and breaking in.
I took my car to a shop around 45k miles for a check engine light, which ended up being an ECM issue that required a dealer service. I also had him check the tires as the hum was still there. He just rotated the tires and sent me on my way. This is when the steering column started shaking, so I had the dealer check it out and they told me I had a bent rim! Go figure, I've been driving on this thing for about 10k miles.
So, I ordered a new rim and had a local tire place put it on and they showed me the bent rim. Now I thought this would solve things but I was wrong . I still fee the vibration in the steering column at high speeds and the annoying wah hum is still there.
I'm a little lost as to what the problem could be so I'm looking for some insight? Should I start with having the other 3 tires balanced? Could it be that the bent rim caused uneven wearing on my tires over the 10k miles and it may take time to even out? There's no noticeable wear on the tires to my seeing but I could be wrong. These tires are 50k mile tires. Could the bent rim have caused other unseen damage? Keep in mind the wheel they replaced is now on the rear.
I know another cause of shaking could be the rotors but as far as I know they're in good shape and breaking is still smooth. so if they were the issue causing vibration at high speeds I would surely feel it in the breaks.

My wife's 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5S threw a Check Engine Light. Runs fine, but we took it to Meineke for a free diagnostic scan. Problem: they said they couldn't get the diagnostic unit to talk to the car because the diagnostic interface pinout wasn't getting power through the #16 pin. They checked the fuses, but didn't go any further for diagnoses for why it would be doing that.

My right front passenger tire keeps making a loud squealing noise. I've had the brakes and pads changed several times and it keeps making the same noise. I've taken it to the dealer but when they drive it, of course it doesn't make the noise. They checked it and everything seems fine. I took it to another mechanic and they heard the noise as well but can't find any problems. They greased all the gears in the wheel area and it stopped making the noise for a couple of weeks, but then starts right back up again. The car drives perfectly other than that. I'm going to see if I can attach a video file so you can hear the noise. I'm thinking it could be the bearings but everyone that looks at it says they're fine. The noise in the video is much more pronounced now and is a constant sharp squeal.

I have 2005 Nissan Altima which I bought when nissan did an overall makeover. It has 102k miles on it. Offlate I am observing that when the car is shifting gears (automatic), I hear kind of some fluid moving through near the front passenger seat. I looked under the seat and the searched the whole car to see if there is a half empty water bottle thats making the sound. I dont see it though. Am I looking at some problem?

When it rains I get puddles inside on the passenger side. I haven't seen where it enters but it doesn't appear to be from the moon roof, or the windows (doors seem dry) so I assume it's from one of the doors but the weatherstripping looks to be intact. It looks like there's a rubber outlet in the hinge area of the front door - could it be from there?

Opened one of the rear doors on my crew cab and there must have been several gallons of water sloshing around inside the door. Shook the door a few times and water started draining out both corners of the door seam. After about an hour (I told you it was a lot of water) it seems to have stopped draining. Now I'm wondering how long this has been going on and what the inside of the door looks like by now.

For the past couple of days i've had condensation on the windshields during cold mornings and nights and thought something was up. I looked around and found the carpet on the driver's side of my car is damp and there was a puddle of water directly underneath the seat. I've read it might be a clogged AC drain or something like that. Some solutions seem to be either blowing the AC drain underneath the car with compressed air to get rid of a clog, or finding the tube inside the car and properly reconnecting it incase it got dislodged or kinked somehow. Or does this sound like a different problem? Again only the driver's side carpet seems to be wet.

Having the problem my RC 350 has: after a car wash or rain, water seems to stay inside the door. If I roll down the window and roll it back up, the outside surface of the window is soaked. It seems like water is trapped in the door for several days. This can't be normal!?!?

Maybe I've been having too much fun in the rain... I've recently noticed an odd smell in the car and found a small wet spot underneath the passenger front floor mat, only to be followed by same in the rear passenger floor mat. I was hoping it won't happen again, but I found myself with the wet floor few weeks later after the rain.
I first thought it may be the bike rack (which I have posted in the earlier month) but seeing the location and occurence, it couldn't be from the rack. It was always the underneath the center of the freaking floor mat.
My R is at the dealer since yesterday, getting a full physical.. They're even talking about removing the headliner to make sure there is no internal leak from the roof.

Passenger door on my 93. I took some pix to try to figure out what was going on and what I'm dealing with because I'm basically having to go in blind. The door opens from the inside but won't from the outside. Awhile back it was becoming difficult to open from the outside, like you really had to give it a solid tug to get the door to open. Now it won't open from the outside at all. I noticed today that the handle is a little loose and I found out why once I looked in there: there is only 1 bolt holding the handle on instead of 2 (not sure how that could possibly be causing my problem???) For now I pushed the door panel back on and shut the door (minus screws/bolts/plates) because I'd like to figure this out soon!

I know this is a T-Reg ongoing issue but has there been any resolve for the inside passenger door release handle sticking? I have it too.

I have a problem, the passenger front door won't open from inside or out, neither handle on the inside or out works.
The lock goes up and down and the handles move but you can feel that they are not connected to anything. I took it to two mechanics and they shrugged.
If I can't open the door, I can't take the panels off and look inside the door. What I can do? I hate to destroy my door panel.

The little piece that flips when you lock the doors (you know what I mean, it is orange when it's open) has been acting up on my 06 Sonata. If you move it by hand it's fine (the door locks and unlocks) but when you use the fob and lock or unlock the doors, sometimes this one just doesn't move.
It looks like it wants to go, but doesn't. If you press lock and unlock again, it opens. on occasion.

My MK4 golf has the rear passenger door shut, cannot be opened from inside or out. The outside handle has no tension, just floppy.
I managed to take the card off, even though I cannot open the door.
So my issue is if I keep dismantling til I get to the door lock, is there any simple way to open the door ? I've seen lots where people can change the lock if the door opens but can it be opened if the door is closed or do I somehow have to smash the lock ?

The passenger door key-lock on my Corolla is stuck, so the only way I can open that door is to unlock it from the inside. It had been sticking and hard to get it to work using the key in the lock for a while, but now it won't work at all. I opened the door panel and lubed everything that looked like it needs to be lubed, but that had no effect. The thing you pull to open/lock the door from the inside works a little smoother, and the inside handle that opens the door from the inside works smoother now so that's something at least. But opening a locked door from the outside with a key remains a no-go.
I tried spraying some WD 40 in there, and putting some WD 40 on the key and trying to unstick it that way, but the key-lock remains stuck in the upright position, won't budge at all by twisting/jiggling the key. Any luck unsticking a door key-lock ? Heat? Hammer? Ice? Different kind of lube? Cleanser? Swearing? Or is the only solution to replace the key-lock with a new one?

I have a 2002 F150 Lariat Supercrew, and suddenly a bad rattle developed inside the passenger side door. The window still works fine, but I'm afraid it won't much longer. I have taken the panel off, and can reach into one of the supports and mimic the rattle. When you shut the door, it sounds like the glass is going to fall out. I had to replace the motor on the driver's side door a couple of years ago, and I'm hoping to prevent another window sliding down inside the door. How to fix this situation? I haven't been able to feel anything that may have come loose.
