Wipers Only Work on Slowest Setting or if I operate them manually. Is this a problem with the motor? If it was a fuse problem, they probably wouldn't work at all, right? I've read that the problem could also be battery-related. This problem seemed to start after the battery died and was jumped.
View 4 RepliesI have a 1995 Mazda Miata with a manual transmission. Lately it has been getting harder and harder to get the car into reverse, 1st, and 2nd gears, and this morning it was impossible for me to get the car into reverse. Do I need to replace the clutch? Is it something else?
View 1 RepliesI drive a fixer-upper 2000 Miata SE. When I turn in reverse, like to get out of a parking spot, I get this awful, intermittent scraping noise. Imagine a sci-fi movie where some ancient rusted megabot stands up for the first time in 1,000 years - that's basically the noise. I'm thinking the most likely culprits are the LSD and the steering column. But it only happens in reverse, which doesn't fit with the steering column theory (I think), and it sounds like it's coming from the front, which doesn't fit with the LSD.
View 5 RepliesMy car is a 2006 Mazda Miata, stock except for being lowered and having a different muffler. Nothing really noteworthy about it. I did run over a big chunk of something a few years ago that cracked the plastic undertray under the nose of the car and dented the bottom row of the condenser, but the problem I'm having is more recent.
About a year ago the AC stopped working. I took it to one shop that found there was no refrigerant in the system. They refilled it, and a few hours later it stopped working again. I took it to another shop that detected a leak in one of the schrader valves (the low pressure I think). He replaced that, filled it, and it worked again for another few months.
Recently it stopped working again. I took it to the same guy that replaced the schrader valve and he found that the high pressure hose had failed. He replaced it and refilled the system. It worked for a few hours. Then when I was sitting at a drive thru, a massive cloud of refrigerant erupted from under the hood and the AC stopped working. Took it back to the guy and he found the high pressure hose had blown off. He put it back on, refilled it, and the same thing happened again. Sitting in traffic, the high pressure hose blew and all the refrigerant poured out.
I took it back to him again and he put the hose back on and refilled it again. We let the car idle for about 30 minutes with the AC on and it worked fine. During this he had the high pressure gauge hooked up and it read between 150 and 175 with the car idling (about 70 degrees F ambient temp). He didn't have the low side gauge hooked up. We did see that the fan is working and kicked up to the higher speed. He did say he checked the dryer and that it looked like the bag that held the desiccant was intact, but he didn't mention replacing the dryer in any of these visits.
I noticed recently that I have a coolant leak in a used car that I got a few months ago. I've been driving this thing pretty regularly at this point, but I haven't noticed any overheating. The engine temp stays shy of the midpoint line on the meter, both at speed and in idle.
The coolant reservoir was empty a little over a month ago, so I filled it up. A few days ago, I took a look at it, and it was empty again. I refit a hose that was a little loose and decided I'd just wait and see what happened after driving it some. Over the past few days, I've noticed slight decreases in the coolant level each day.
Today was no different, except that after I drove for about 15 minutes on probably the hottest day of the year so far (about 95 degrees, don't know if that matters at all), I noticed there was coolant sprayed on the hood. I opened the hood and there was quite a bit of coolant pooled on the far left of the radiator top, right between the coolant reservoir and the radiator pressure cap. What's going on here?
I have a 2008 Miata that is new to me (<40K miles). When I first drive it in the morning it has a very noticeable bumping feel for the first couple of minutes then smooths out and is not noticeable for the rest of the day, even if I park it for a couple of hours. I believe the bumping is coming from the rear driver's side. I just replaced the tires (thinking they were flat spotted), but the problem persists.

I called the installers, they came back and took the arms off and put them back on. All wires appear connected, though I have not checked voltage. I have no rain sensor. The rear wiper still works. It's an oem windshield...

We bought a new battery a day latter wipers don,t work. mechanic buys a used motor, motor works in test colorado but doesn,t work in my husbands truck mechanic is a little stumped.

View 6 RepliesRX450h Climate Control ... This is annoying and all my riders complain about the A/C Auto mode on this car. Here is the issue in Auto Mode with the inside temp set at 72 degrees, and the outside temp is cold anywhere from 55 to 65 degrees the A/C always blows cold air into the car. I can never get heat to flow into the car. The manual says that auto controls the a/c flow, fan speed, and vents like auto in almost every car. What is wrong here? The A/C is always on blowing cold air regardless of the temperature set inside the car. To me it seems that the temperature setting for both passenger and driver do not work.
View 12 RepliesI have only had my car for about a month and i just realized that my wipers don't work. The mist setting, and constant 1 and 2 work also. But when i set it to the rain sensing mode and move the lever either way it will not work even in a down pore.

I first had a problem in the summer. The wipers stopped working for a day or two and then started working fine again. Now, they don't work at all. The fuse is fine (and was replaced even though it was fine). It isn't the switch as that has been replaced. It isn't the motor/wiper arms as that has been replaced. I don't see any damaged wires or anything.
I am hoping I am missing something really simple.
2015 GTI, my intermittent wipers work intermittently, sometimes yes, sometime no. A days driving in the rain and I had to switch to low speed for wiping many many times, maybe 10th time they worked as they are supposed to. Shut off for refuel and back to non working.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2001 ford f150 4.2 five speed with a little over 250,000 miles. The wipers will not do anything. I have gotten a new motor and plugged it in before I installed it and checked it and still nothing. I have changed the switch on the column and they still did not work. I have tried checking with a multimeter and a probe light. I do not know what is wrong with them or where else to go. What to do or what to check next?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2.4L 2003 Camry. No modifications other than a new HU that's been in place for years. I do also have a Sirius radio that plugs into 12v socket.
About a year ago, the only speed that will work for my windshield wipers is the high speed. Every now and then, i can use the other speeds, but they will only work for a few seconds. Recently, I was driving the highway, and out of nowhere, with the wiper switch in the OFF position, my wipers started working. I had to switch it to the fast speed a few times then OFF to get them to stop.
Thinking it was a motor issue, i first took both arms off, then ran the wipers. They work perfectly. It's as if as soon as I put the arms back on, they become "too heavy" for the motor, and won't work in any of the other settings (I guess that's the best way that my mind makes sense of it.
I also experience the door lock issue (sometimes using the key fob will only lock/unlock 3 out of the 4 doors)...
Had a freeze, I went out to drive our Phaeton. Started the car and went to run the windshield wipers to clear the windshield, they were frozen. when I got them unfrozen they would not work and still do not work. It's been about three weeks. I checked the fuses, but I don't think that is the problem. Is there a reset button or did I burn out the wiper motors?

View 16 RepliesMy car works fine two days ago i went to get gas and i used my wipers they worked perfectly fine and i came out the next day and they would not work not even the mist they spraw would work i checked the fuse and its working the spot where the fuse goes in i checked with a voltmeter to check for continuity to see if i am getting a signal of power. My battery is good and everything and i read the owners manual invade it had detail. I have a 2000 Pontiac grand prix GTP supercharged. And i don't know what else to do cause Im not the best with electrical I'm mainly a suspension
View 3 RepliesSo after a pretty harsh storm last night I was driving today and my wipers came on. Went to turn them off and nothing. My headlights and turn signals won't work either. When I pull the stalk to turn my high beams on my wipers go off. Parked the car and the dash lights stay on without my key and the wipers randomly go on and off. The blinkers in the rear remain lit with the car off as well. At work right now so nothing came up when I searched briefly but do any of you have any insight as to why my car is possessed? Going to check grounds when I get home.
