I have a 1990 mazda 2600i 4x4 truck that is leaking coolant on the right side of the engine about mid ways back. What that could be coming from? My light was very dim and I couldn't tell much by looking.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 Mazda 626 with 134,00 miles. About a month ago there was a large coolant leak in the middle part of the engine. My mechanic replaced the coolant by-pass hose from the thermostat housing under exhaust manifold to engine block. A few days ago there was another leak around where the coolant reservoir is. Gauge read hot and had to top off coolant on way to repair shop. Topped off reservoir and next morning most of the coolant had drained out. My mechanic has done a pressure check, drove the car, let it sit and idle for up to an hour and there was no leak or overheating.
View 1 RepliesShifting into gear was a problem occasionally, but lately, within 15 minutes of driving, I start feeling the shifting into higher or lower gear getting stiffer and will not shift into gear.I've shared the problem with couple of my mechanics and it left them puzzled, since there are no leaks or low levels of fluid.
B2600i '92 cab ....
My 1993 Mazda B2600i starts up in the morning just fine. It runs for about 10 minutes and abruptly shuts off. I can crank it at full speed, (Good Battery), and it may attempt to start a few times and then it just cranks with no attempt to fire up. It just turns until the next day morning. Then it is the same thing all over again. I disconnected the fuel line from the out let of the fuel filter, leading to the fuel injectors and was able to fill a 2.5 cup glass jar in about 20 to 30 seconds.
I checked the ignition coil and there was spark there. Then I checked for spark at the #1 and #2 cylinders and detected the spark there as well. When the truck runs in the morning, for the 10 minutes that it runs, it seems to be very smooth in its operation. No abnormalities at all until it shuts off. I also listened to the fuel injectors with a screw driver at my ear and herd a fairly consistent clicking of the fuel injectors during the 10 minute operation of the engine.
I have a 1992 mazda b2600i, recently lost all brakes. Changed the master cylinder, but now I have a major problem!! I have no power to start it. I have head lights, dome lights, horn, buzzer when key is in start position. Nothing when try to start, no click, no trying to start nothing!! I have changed the main relay, all fuses. broke down and contacted a mechanic and he is telling me that I have to have the 2 computers replaced... there is one under the kick panel on the pass side and one under the driver seat!!
View 7 RepliesI did a search but found nothing on a coolant leak. My 07 (57K) has developed a leak on the passengers side of the engine. Not sure if its the water pump (not making noise) or the themostat housing as a mechanic who took a very quick look at it suggested. How hard it is to get to the thermostat housing? Anything else have to come off? I don't have a FSM.
View 14 RepliesI have a 96 explorer that has recently developed a coolant leak. i was able to find the location of the leak, but i am puzzled by what is causing it. It is leaking on the back, passenger side of the engine, and while the truck is running it just squirts coolant out on and off...i am guessing it leaks when the thermostat opens. anyways, what is could be? i was thinking lower intake gasket, but i have never seen a lower gasket squirt like that!
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 expedition 5.4 ltr that has developed a coolant leak. Leak appears to be on top of the engine, in front on passenger side. The area around the front fuel injector (on passenger side) is wet and water is running down and sitting on top of engine (under intake manifold). My first thought was that the heater hose extending vertically from the block hose fitting. I have found no evidence of a leak in the hose but it appears fitting on block may be the source. It has three bolts holding it onto the block. One from the top and two coming up from the bottom. Two of the three area accessible. How to get to the upside down bolt nestled between hose fitting, block and valve cover. It's been a slow leak so far but I know that's not going to last. Runs fine but steams from water on block at stops and when parked.

Dash came on with low coolant level. Added a small amount of coolant ( at the add coolant level line) and then started noticing small amounts of coolant under car in the mornings.
View 3 RepliesI have an 04 Excursion with a 6.0PSD. I am currently experiencing a coolant leak, not very bad at the moment but I would like to fix it. The coolant is running down the back right side of the engine and I can see coolant pooling on the pan on top of the motor, specifically the right side. I can see some moisture on the front of the engine but it is below the top of the engine and I do not think this would be the cause since coolant won't flow up hill. I can't see or smell any coolant flowing when the engine is running but see it at idle and when parked.
View 5 RepliesMy 2003 GTI 24V VR6 is leaking coolant pretty quickly from the passenger side of the engine compartment. I have a new water pump in hand. If I'm replacing the water pump, would it be smart to go ahead and order a thermostat and metal crack-pipe to replace at the same time that I'm having the water pump installed? I'd hate to get the water pump installed, and find out that the leak is at the crack pipe.

I've traced the leak back to a metal tube/pipe that sticks out of the engine compartment just below the AC housing. I cannot find anything in the Haynes manual or a diagram on the intertron that shows what this is and if it should have a hose on it or...?
I have a small coolant leak coming from the passenger side near the back of the engine that forms a spot about the size of a dinner plate if it sits for a few days.
One thing I noticed is if I turn off the AC selector switch when I park I will get the drip but if I leave the switch on MAX AC when I shut the truck off I do not get any leaking.
It is definitely coolant and not just the condensation from use of the AC. If I haven't used the truck for a few days or if I have run it with the AC off I will get the drips.
If I run with the AC on and leave the switch in the on position when I shut the truck off it won't leak. I have tried to locate it from looking above and below but can't determine where it is coming from.
I have a water leak in a 1990 4runner (3vze) at the back of the block i called the dealership and they said the headgasket had been done, i noticed this leak because the water is well orange rust colored to be exact my 4runner needs a new radiator but that's kind of self defeating until i fix the leak at the back of the engine, what it could be? or how to check if its the headgasket, the oil doesn't appear to have any water in it,i believe it's coming from above the head but there isn't much clearance between the injector plant and firewall.
View 13 RepliesI have a 97 Cadillac deville with the north star. My problem is I have a bad coolant leak coming from the right side of the car. You can see that it's all wet on the right side but I pressure tested it and it holds pressure and nothing leaks. Where it is wet it looks like it came from the overflow drain tube and it looks like it's been blowing back. I've been going through a lot of anti freeze but it's like chasing a ghost you can see it's wet but under pressure it doesn't leak. It does not overheat. Can it be the water pump?
View 6 RepliesMy Mazda 626 is in service for an engine warning light and my mechanic says that they will need to plug an exhaust leak in the rear manifold . And he's not sure that will solve the issue - a new cat converter may or may not be needed.

The water pump is good. Weep hole is dry. All of the radiator hoses look good.
The traditional intake manifold gasket looks fine, even though that isn't really a suspect here.
Looking up from the bottom, coolant is dripping from what appears to be a lower motor mount right next to the oil pan. Also, the area around the crankshaft pulley looks wet.
What should I look for? Could it be a leak from the engine oil cooler? Are there hoses on the back side of the engine? It doesn't look like it's anything simple.
Today I noticed a small coolant leak under passenger side bumper. What it could be leaking from?

View 14 RepliesI've got an '04 1.8t jetta with 158k on the clock. Recently noticed I have a coolant leak on the passenger side of the car. Started the car in my driveway and looked for drips and found coolant collecting in the front valence right underneath the intercooler. Took a look from the top and noticed the hose going into the bottom of the part shown in the picture is leaking like a sieve. It's the metal canister-type thing on the passenger side right next to the radiator. What part this is? And where I can get a new hose that connects to the bottom of it?
View 11 RepliesI looked at a 99 with a 5.0 and noticed a puddle on the driver side, a little below and inboard of the power steering pump but outboard of the water pump. The puddle was higher than the water pump weep hole and it was in a racetrack oval shape. I was unable to see where the leak originated and I couldn't tell exactly what part/housing the puddle was sitting on. Obviously, the leak had originated from above.
I don't think it was coming from the upper radiator hose as I remember the upper radiator hose being more on the passenger side and I don't recall any heater hoses in the area. The only things that came to mind as the potential leak source were the intake manifold and the sensors on it. Are the 5.0 intakes prone to coolant leaks? Other than hoses, what else would be leaking coolant on the driver side?
