I have 2006 Mercery Mariner and the dome lights come on while im driving, they will stay on for about 10 mins or longer. sometimes they will come on when i hit a bump in the road. They also flicker on and off, even when i hit the brakes. took it to a shop and they replaced the hatch switch and they checked all the other door switches but stiil didn't find the problem.

Looking for a pic of your interior roof lighting? (Not the center console one near the sunroof control...that of course lights up and shows icons.) I'm looking for the ones towards the rear of the car.
I'm new to modding and I've been having a really hard time finding a forum that gives a good DIY instructions on how to wire the map lights to function as the dome lights so they (the map lights) turn on when the doors are opened.
Any parts required (relays or anything else of that sort)
I have had the PSD about 2 months. It's a 2000 Ext cab LXT.
If you open the door, no lights. If the key is in the ignition and you open the door it buzzes. If you have the light on, the light around the door locks and window controls stay on after you turn off the truck until you open the door. The dome light never comes on unless you use the switch on the light. What's up with the darkness! This truck is like a cave! No under dash lights, no door lights no dome light! As for those red lenses on the door, no wiring, no lights no nada! Do the lights com on when you open the door? Any light?
My 2004 has suddenly decided I should drive with dome lights on all the time, as if starring in an episode of COPS. Seems something is reading my driver door is not closed, even though it is closed. Besides lights on, unable to use controls to roll down window or lock vehicle. Also, there is now a whistle emanating from the bowels of this silver beast. Seems back near the fire wall or underneath. Sadly, this 2004 JGC does not even have 150,000 miles and things are going south for the winter to retire in Florida. Had one form 1993 and it lasted over 400,000 miles and my 1999 had 250,000 before I met Mr. Ice. On top of these goings on's the right rear wheel is causing a scraping noise, but not 100% of the time.
View 4 RepliesI own a 2006 2.0T FSI Passat. "auto". A few weeks ago i was switching out my interior dome lights for cosmetics. I had 5 of 6 installed and while putting in the last bulb, all my dome lights went out along with the visor lights and trunk lights. I'm pretty good when it come to electronics but just can't seem to find the problem.
Fuses are ok
Lights are ok
But somewheres between the fuse box and the lights there is something wrong.
So i installed the ddm tuning hid fog lights but every time i attempt to turn the fogs on they go on and off right away?
View 8 RepliesCar won't start this morning. Put the key in, turn it, and all the dash lights come on but the MPD flickers in sync a rapid clicking noise and I get an "Airbag Error" on the display. Lights, fans, etc work. This has to be tied to the fact that I totally blanked after going out to close my windows and left the keys in the ignition for approximately five hours. The key was in the ACC position, so I assume that led to battery drain on a battery approximately three years old. I've got a trickle charger on it now.
Just figured I'd check here verify that these batteries are not too temperamental/delicate for use with a trickle charger. Also to see if the general opinion is that running the car will recharge the battery or if I should just head out and replace it since three years seems to be the life of these batteries based on what I've read.
I bought two new factory fresh speed sensors to replace the ones. So, after work tonight I get the car up on jack stands and replace both sensors in about 45 minutes. Get it off the jack stands, torque down the rims and reset the dash lights. Nice clean dash display with no warning lights.
I drive it down the street, nice speedometer display and then, after about 100 yards, the warning lights come on and the speedometer flickers from 22mph to 2 then 10 then 1 then zero. I drive it back home, check the sensors and the connections, reset the lights again, drive it down the street and, same story.
Nissan Pathfinder SE-V6 4x4 My blinkers quit working, but flashers still come on. All 3 brake lights also went out but tail lights still work. when the car is cranked and blinker is on there is a buzzing (alert) sound and the oil temp light comes up on the dash, there is no sound when the key is in the on position, only when it is cranked. Occasionally there is a crackle through the speakers that usually goes away when I turn it off. I don't know if the last part is relevant but I figured I would put it in anyway. Is this an easy fix or are there serious electrical problems?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 Volvo S40. I have recently noticed a very loud screeching noise while driving. It sounds like metal on metal, and it stops when I push the brakes. Any thoughts on what this might be? It sounds like it is coming from the front right tire. I also have heard rattling up there for a while (sounds like something is loose) but my mechanic was not able to find anything with this. I also have issues with my head lights. They go out about every other month and need to be replaced.

My cigarette lighter and aux power outlet do not work and mym 4wd does not work. when i try to change from 2wd to 4wd no lights come on in the dash. I have checked all fuses and they are good. Then tapped into power to the center console/armrest power port. Now have no power to the center power port and the 2nd and third row dome lights don't work.

I have trim removal tools and stuff but I'm hesitant to go blind on this one for fear of breaking some clips or breaking the whole thing because I missed a screw or something like that. It doesn't seem like you can just take the plastic lens off the light, so I'm not sure how to proceed.

They either come on like normal, come on for a second and turn off, or don't turn on at all. I read something about a bad door lock module but it seemed like that was for earlier MK4s. View 6 RepliesI'm trying to install my leds on the dome lights. The back one was quick and everything but the front dome light cover doesn't want to come off. Only the passenger side one wants to pop out. While the driver side of the dome doesnt wanna budge. It seems like ts actually stuck to the inside of the compartment. It just doesn't wanna pop off all that i getting is scratches.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2006 passat and today when i was switching the bulbs out with different colored ones and the lights just went out along with the visor lights. I have checked all the fuses and bulbs to make sure they just didnt blow. There isnt much on the internet about this topic. What i have found out on the net is it could maybe be the (CCM). But i am unable to find that also.
