View 8 RepliesMy driver side front head light compartment continually has moisture inside of it. My question(s) are how does that happen, and is there a way to stop it without just replacing the entire unit? The head light works okay but figure that this can't be a good thing.

After detailing my car and prepping for winter I noticed moisture in the driver's side headlight. I know this is a common problem with many makes and models besides Lexus and I've done quite a bit of research to re-seal the light. I want to start with the basics first such as checking the vent tube for clogs. Need to point out that vent tube in a photo? I've looked all over and cannot seem to find this tube.
When I was detailing I was using a high-pressure washer. There was quite a bit of moisture and it dried within a few days. I was hoping it was from the high-pressure washer but now it came back. It seems to have come back just from using the headlight washer when I used my windshield washer.
I double checked the dust cap and o-ring seems to be fine. My next task is to remove the headlight assembly and reseal. I've read that some people have luck with just applying a bead along the seal without completely disassembling the lens and resealing (baking method). I'd rather not have to do the entire baking method although I know that can be more thorough.
Am I missing anything here in terms of other known causes? And would a clogged vent tube really cause this?
I installed HID for Headlight in my Accent, after few weeks it builds moist inside the headlight. How to clean it?

View 5 RepliesI just bought a new 2010 Prius IV and noticed after a good rain that the front left headlight assembly was showing some moisture fogging inside the lens. None of the other light assemblies showed any moisture.
View 6 RepliesI have always seemed to have a moderate amount of water condensation on the glass inside the driver's side headlight. How does it get started and how do I rid myself of this small problem?
View 6 RepliesMy 2006 Passat has moisture in the passenger side headlight. Not sure how it got there, or how to get rid of it. The mechanic at the dealership said to drill a hole in the bottom of the light (but that sounds like a BAD idea).
How I can remove the moisture from this without replacing the entire headlight housing? I thought that maybe I could remove the bulb and use a hair dryer on low to try to evaporate the moisture.
I just noticed on another post ( the guy with the long list from his 2010 ) that he had moisture in the drivers side tail light, I have the same thing.
View 7 RepliesI just purchased a 2009 Sonata with 78,000 miles. Car appears to be in great condition. I am using the air conditioner alot. I noticed the other day that there was significant moisture under the drivers floormat and the carpeting was damp. I let it dry and put the mat back down. That was about 5 days ago. I checked it again today and it is damp again. The car has not been in the rain during that time. Neither the carpet or the car smell damp or musty. What could be causing the moisture? It is only on the drivers side.
View 5 RepliesI noticed some moisture in my driver side turn signal lamp the other day. Any experience out there on fixing this? It looked pretty difficult to reach in there and open the lamp up to let it dry. And fixing it - finding the leak - might be more fun.
View 7 Replies1.4 yrs in, 35,000 km driven... now noticing moisture build up in my drivers side fog light lens. Called the dealership and made an appointment to have it, along with an annoying rattle sounds looked after - and when I asked the question 'would this be covered under warranty", she said - it depends.
Well... why? It either is or isn't... and what came from it?
I just picked up my brand new 2010 Prius II tonight (8 miles on odo). I have a small issue though the headlights (both driver and passenger has moisture/condensation in the headlights) is this normal should I be worried? I'm hoping it will go away.
View 18 RepliesToday, I noticed some moisture in my drives side tail light lens. Of course I'm a few months past the bumper to bumper warranty.
View 12 RepliesMy Drivers side headlight points slightly higher than my passenger side headlight. Is this normal or do I need to adjust, and if so how do I adjust?
View 6 RepliesMy 2006 Prius (Model NHW20) has a strange headlight problem. On the passenger side, the high beam light is out but the regular headlight works.
On the driver side, the high beam is working but the regular headlight is out.
I don't think it's the fuses but I'm not sure. No amount of interchanging the following fuses changes anything about the issue:
1. 10A H-LP HI RH
2. 10A H-LP HI LH
3. 15A H-LP LO RH
4. 15A H-LP LO LH
For some reason I am getting moisture inside my car. This has started to happen regularly, even when it is not raining. I have checked all of my weather stripping, all windows seal tight, all doors close tight. VW service can't find anything.
View 6 RepliesI dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
I get it every now and then in the mornings. Now I know I can just turn on my headlights and it goes away. But it's a brand new car.
I have xenons. Just wanted to see of this is common or not. Dealers solution was just that. Turn headlights on.
It rained really hard yesterday. This evening I got in my car and the windows were all wet on the inside. While I believe some moisture is normal this was ridiculous. Where to check/look or what it could be. I checked the sunroof and under all the floor mats (not under the carpet; just mats)..
