1996 izusu rodeo had check engine light on got code for egr valve. Replaced it light when out drove fine all day. Stopped at grocery store came back out would not start ... Will crank over but will not start. did a obg (two) scan get a p1640 output A circuit fault code along with a 1460 egr code ....
View 5 RepliesI have a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L V6 with 114,000 miles. Last night when I turned on my headlights, the left half of my instrument panel did not light up. This includes the tachometer, voltmeter, and engine coolant temperature gauge. These gauges are working properly; they are just not lighting up. The rest of the gauges on the instrument cluster are working correctly; only the left half is not lighting up. Could this mean that an instrument cluster light bulb has gone out? If so, any directions and information on replacing that light bulb.
View 8 RepliesMy new battery was draining down overnight. Thinking it wasn't charging back up properly I replaced what I'm sure was the original alternator. Now sometimes the engine lights (battery,brake & oil) flash on and off when I accelerate. So far the battery hasn't gone dead again.I also had an oil change. They put 5.7qts in the 6 cylinder engine.

My check engine light came on, and I went to autozone to get the code read. The code was P0446, "a malfunction in the electrical circuit for the vent control in the evap emission control system." I was wondering if this could be a simple fix...would cleaning the EGR valve do anything to get rid of this? Maybe this could work, but before the light came on, the amigo was taking awhile to start up (usually 4 cranks, with me pressing on the gas). And oh yeah, the check engine light didn't pop up until after I let the car sit for 12 days, while I was on vacation.
I also have a side problem...when I turned on my car for the first time after my vacation, besides the check engine light popping up for the first time, my ABS light also came on. I've tried the whole turning off, turning on the car and driving real slow process, but the light remains on. It just seems really interesting that both lights came on right after my car was sitting for awhile.
I'm thinking about taking the amigo to the dealership to get it checked out.
I have a 2007 f150 sport. I am getting a 24 code on the airbag light and I do know that is Sensor output feed/return circuit open. What I do not know is where is this sensor located and what could it mean if I am getting the code...

Just started two days ago... My '01 Rodeo stutters and then the Check Trans and Cruise Control Lights come on and go out about 10 seconds later.
It seems like it only happens when at lower speeds between 10-30 Mph and when first starting out on a drive.

I have a 2002 Jetta 1.8t. My check engine light came on and it gave me the code P0135 sensor heater circuit. Bank 1 Sensor 1. We bought a new 02 sensor and replaced it. We definitely bought the right one too. Cleared the codes. After a little driving the CEL came back on with the same code P0135. What is wrong and how I can fix this?
View 6 RepliesI cleaned my k&n air filter on my 02 passat 1.8 turbo let it dry oiled it very lightly, and 50 miles later I get a check engine light on, pulled the code 16486 and it says Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input. Cleared the code put a frame in until I can get it filter. Why that would throw me that code, k&n oil gumming up my sensor??

My nose is telling me it's emissions related as the exhaust smells too rich. And the car is nearly stalling at idle. Suspect #1 is the MAF but the OBD II code does not support this.

Just got a check engine light last night. Pulled the code and got a P202a fault. Some digging indicates its the Ad-Blue tank heater module. TDI forum indicates its anywhere from $850 to 1K to fix. Also that it's not covered under any extended warranty (now there's a shock!) The cars going back to VW so that's not happening.
Is this one of the conditions that will cause the car to go into limp mode at some point? I know that happens when the ad-blue runs low. I'm in Florida so the heater isn't really a big deal. I need to use it another couple of months and I don't want to have this thing leave me stranded. If I have to I'll park it.

View 4 Replies2007 Chrysler Town & Country with 74K. The check engine light comes on and the parts store diagnostic says P0404, a clogged EGR valve. On my model, replacing the EGR valve involves taking out the alternator, which involves removing the passenger wheel. That's beyond my skill set.
So, can I just replace the EGR tube and pour some Sea Foam motor treatment directly into the EGR? Would that hurt anything?
99 Ford Ranger 4-cyl. Check engine light is on; pulled fault code: "catalyst efficiency below threshold, bank 1." Cat converter is new as is rest of exhaust, o2 sensors are new, and its been recently tuned up.

I just recently acquired a 2000 Isuzu rodeo. The last owner said their girlfriend drove it with low oil, and it damaged the engine. On starting the car, there is a somewhat loud clicking/tapping noise from the engine. It speeds up if you step on the gas, and seemed to be louder with the camshaft cover off. I believe it to be an issue with a valve or cam or some other part in the head, but the person I am working ont his car with thinks the problem lies in the lower end, and wants to rebuild that.

View 7 RepliesMy check engine light was throwing the code P1121 for the coolant flow valve. Toyota replaced it under a warranty enhancement (I have 134k on it), and since then my mpgs have gone from 46 to 50.
My AC is working much better now, too. My theory is that the valve can be in a semi-failure mode for a long time before throwing a code. Now that My coolant is flowing the way that it should, heat is being dissipated more efficiently.
I bought the little car to get off my motorcycle and its done great. But, after a couple trips around town my check engine light came on, and I imiditely noticed a change in my idle and engine performance. Im assuming my engine changed the air/fuel ratio to account for the sensor indications. My initial code read came back with four codes which said something about spark, and O2 sensor, and emissions. I went ahead put new spark plugs, gaped them as well as replaced the first O2 sensor.
After that I reconnected my battery and sure enough no engine light and my idle felt even better than before. (by the way my old plugs looked normal) But shortly down the road the light came on again. My idle did become a little different but not like my first encounter with the engine light. My power too seems a bit degraded, as well as the engine's sound. As of right now I am only reading one code P0422, which I do not see in the manual. I read online that its probably my catalytic converter or my engine is running at an improper air/fuel ratio. I am praying that it is not my catalytic converter and just my engine computer throwing things off.
Other things which may serve as clues:
Slight valve cover gasket leak (I will change the gasket when I do my timing belt job along with other seal and probably the water pump)
When pumping gas I can get about 90 cents in at a time, now more like 40 cents since the Saudis lowered our gas prices. Assuming I've got some kind of venting problem.
Car has 107K manual shift.
