My 2008 has the airbag warning light on - the dealer wants to replace the whole passenger seat bottom. They also say as long as the light is on no airbags will work. Is this true and do I have to just cough up the money and replace this?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata that has the "Air Bag" light (Red indicator in the instrument panel). This is not the amber indicator for the passenger side air bag sensor. There is also an error code "B1706-Passenger Buckle Pretensioner Voltage High". Is this the "Female" part of the passenger side seatbelt buckle (i.e. the part that is attached to the left side of the seat)? Most of what I've seen on the web is referencing that part. Am I on the right track?
View 19 RepliesThis is a 2006 Hyundai Sonata w/ 3.3 engine. 62,000 mi. The air bag warning light on dash comes on and goes off intermittently.
What causes this? What can I check? Is there really a problem?
The airbag warning light came on last week and stayed on for my hour commute home. Later on that same evening, I took the car out again, and the light was off. Stayed off for about 3 or 4 days and now comes on intermittently. I called the dealership today to try and set something up, and they said if if it's coming on intermittently, check under the seat for anything obstructing the airbag sensor and whatnot. I looked today and found nothing (I keep my car extremely clean) but none the less found no issue. The service advisor from the dealership also said that I need not bring it in unless the light stays on all the time. But I'm insisting on bringing it in in the next few days. I'm just concerned that either the airbags may inflate without cause, or may not inflate in the event of an accident. Should I wait until the light stays on? Going into the service department at my local dealer is always at least a 2 hour ordeal and they don't issue loaner vehicles unless they absolutely have to. I just don't want to waste my time.
View 20 RepliesWhenever I start my 2011 Sonata Turbo after it has been resting overnight, the brake warning light comes on and stays on. It's not immediate—it usually takes five to ten seconds, and whether the emergency brake was on when I started has no effect. Once it goes on, it cannot be shut off without shutting off the car and restarting—at which time it acts normally. The braking system is fine.

View 4 RepliesI have 2008 Hyundai Sonata. The TPMS light has been on for months. Not the little round tire low light...this is the actual letters TPMS. I have had issues in the past with the low pressure light coming on with weather temp changes which were quickly remedied by putting air in the tires. After several new tire purchases the low level light would come on when I left the store and as I drove out and drove a little while they would go off and stay off. I have had tire centers break the sensors and have to replace them. After the last one they reset the sensor, however some time later the TPMS letters came on and will not go off. No one can seem to fix it permanently. The Hyundai dealer service center tells me it's a tire center problem.
View 1 RepliesI've been trying to trace down a issue with the airbag warning light flashing. The seatbelt light is flashing also. The airbag code is 53. If i search it i get the front crash sensor..I replaced it with a new sensor and pigtail. Other than that the search leads me to believe it could be anything.
I've checked and clean every connection that i could find. I haven't removed the center console yet to check the module. I did buy the truck last fall as a winter/work truck. The issue started a couple of months after i started driving it. Not sure if the module would just go bad.

View 4 RepliesLast night, my 2008 Prius was hit from the rear. The bumper was damaged as well as a few starches on the hatch. However the latch for the hatch was move forward so the hatch no longer latches. Also during the collision, my daughter's heavy backpack was throw against the back of the passenger seat with enough force to hurt her back.
The airbag warning light remains on along with the dash indicator saying the airbag is off. Does mean all the airbags are disabled? Can this be reset? The car will be professionally repaired but I still need to drive it until I can get it repaired.
I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata that is giving me a "Low Tire Pressure" warning. I have checked the air pressure in all of the tires and I still get the error. How I can find the tire pressure that is giving me the error?
View 14 RepliesEngine light shows" Airbag". Ram Auto did a diagnostic and error code did not show up. Ram tried to delete the code, could not. They suggested search re-calls since this is a hot topic in the news about Hyundai's problem with airbag opening without cause. Did a research and there are no re-call for the year 2003-there are re-call for the year 2004. If the airbag light stays on and there is cause for it to open, it will not.
View 19 Repliesmy car is a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser with over 75K on it. My problem is two fold. First, recently the right rear turn signal light shorts out but only in the morning it seems. Because we've been getting a lot of rain in Nashville and the surrounding area, I suspect the high dewpoint and humidity might play a part here but I think I just need to replace the bulb.The second issue is a little more annoying. For whatever reason, the "air bag warning" light on the driver side console comes on and I cannot figure out why.The third issue is a little more pressing. I noticed during the summer whenever I was idling and had the A/C running, occasionally I would hear the engine act like it was about to stall out, like RPMs had dropped significantly. Now I've noticed it does that when the front defroster is running and winter is coming. What can I do about any of these problems listed here?

View 2 RepliesMy Hyundai Sonata 2008 vibrates when driving at 40 km/h. Steering wheel doesn't shake, only car vibrates. And this happens regardless of pressing gas pedal or not. Front wheels are balanced(as the car is front wheel drive) yesterday but no success.

View 9 RepliesThere is a problem in radio of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. The radio display illuminates but does not display anything. But sometimes it displays ok magically then again problem appears. All the buttons are working and sound is ok.
But, a week ago radio stopped working at all. When i press on/off button, nothing happens. Only once in 2-3 days it works for some hours then again turns off.
I have a 2008 Hyundai Sonata that overflows at most gas stations when filling. To fill the tank, I set the pump on autofill and walk away. The pump clicks off and then the car "burps" and gas comes out the filler neck and runs down the outside of the car and out the bottom. It does not do this at one gas station by my house but seems to at all others almost every time. The car is still under warranty (42,000 miles but the issue started at 29,000) and I have brought it to the dealer 3 times. Each time they claim to have found something new wrong and fix. The first time they replaced the fuel filler neck, 2nd time fuel filler neck assembly (and tested at a gas station and it worked), 3rd time the vent valve. Each time I try it and it overflows for me (except at that one gas station). I have never had this issue before with any other car including my wife's current car. I'm truly stumped, but feel that a car should be able to fill up at a gas pump without overflowing.
View 3 RepliesMy Air Bag warning light is lit. My mechanic hooked up his scanner and it shows no communication. We checked the fuse in the fuse box by the passenger door. All fuses good. Is there a fuse or breaker somewhere else. Scanner does communicate with the engine.
