Hyundai Elantra SE ("sedan"?), 2009, manual - after the dealer replaced the brake light switch (or some such) as a recall service, soon after - but perhaps unrelated - the cruise control doesn't work at all from the driver controls. No nothing. All of a sudden. I read about the relays, fuses, however didn't make much of it - overlooked perhaps....
View 7 RepliesI have a 4 cylinder manual transmission that the cruise control won't set. The light will come on it just won't set. I don't see any vacuum hoses and can't find any blown fuses. All the lights brakes, parking, and flashers seem to be working fine.

I thought it was a relatively easy install, but then after putting the airbag in place, I find that the horn no longer works. I test out the cruise control, and the green "Cruise" lights up on the dashboard..but it doesn't actually work.
View 9 RepliesI have a 99 Hyundai Elantra Wagon and it has about 205,000 miles on it. It has been a wonderful vehicle, but I have a couple of problems with it. One, the cruise control is a little funny. Between about 42 mph and maybe 55 mph, the engine will rev up and down and sometimes will shut off the cruise control altogether. Also, I think it has a transmission problem- when I slow down to come to a stop or slow down enough for a turn, it sort of hesitates going forward. Not the engine, but just going where I want it to go and when. It almost feels like the brakes are on when I'm trying to accelerate, but those have been checked. Automatic transmission.
View 1 RepliesI have 2011 Elantra that the cruise control is not working properly. It started out that I had to slap it to get it to work. I have to push the Resume button to turn on, Cancel button to set, set button to resume and the on/off button to cancel. Was told I need a new switch assembly. Done that and same problem. Shop checked brake light switch and said it was working properly, but I think they just meant for the brake light and it was not sticking. Even had steering wheel pulled and put dielectric grease on the wiring harness.
View 1 RepliesThe cruise control cuts out after driving for 25+ minutes. The rpm's rev up to 4000 and the speedometer goes wild just before cutting off. It can be reset but does not hold for long. Short trips and a cooling-off period for the engine seem to work. The dealer could not replicate the condition.
View 1 RepliesEvery day I have to drive on highways and obviously I use the Cruise Control BUT sometimes it doesn't work. To make it work again, I have to stop , turn off the engine and then turn it on. After doing that, the cruise control works again... It is an intermittent problem. I have my car for 4 months and I have got this problem about 10 times. Am I the only one to have an intermittent problem with my cruise control ?
View 8 RepliesI almost always use my cruise control. When I turn off my car then restart under 2 minutes, the cruise control doesn't work UNTIL I stop completely.
When I turn off my car over 2 minutes then restart, cruise control works fine.
Is something not resetting right or something? It doesn't bother me.. I just have to restart my car after 2 minutes so my cruise control works.
I just discovered my cruise won't "SET" (light goes out after 1/2 second) anymore after having the brake light switch done yesterday.
View 2 RepliesThe steering wheel controls, horn and cruise control recently died in our '08 wagon. The fact that they went out suddenly and simultaneously suggests that they might be tied to a fuse. I looked around the intarwebs via google and saw some references to a problem with HomeLink wiring in the sunvisor blowing "fuse 5" on older models, but I'm unsure if something like this is even valid for the B6.
View 9 RepliesMy steering wheel controls on the lower half quit working last year , then the cruise control quit intermittently last month , then the air bag light starts appearing last week. Deciding this means a failed clock spring / spiral cable , I took apart my spiral cable housing, and found two obvious breaks in the electrical wiring . I first bought a salvage unit on Ebay, to find it arrived bound, didn't turn freely (and no returns from seller). I then bought one from the dealer and installed it last week and very happily have all symptoms fixed!
The replacement was easier than I expected, the steering wheel was not actually very tight, I doubt I needed the steering wheel puller I 'borrowed' from the parts store , could have just loosed the main nut, wiggled and tugged it loose. Just a note be sure to remove 12 volt power from the car, and mark the steering wheel center shaft to the steering wheel for reinstall .
As a rural mail carrier I deliver mail out of my prius with the window down, traveling about 5 hours a day on dusty ,sand roads in Kansas. The car interior gets dusty and this caused the failure of the spiral cable.
Pic's of the old failed unit, the new one comes with some lubricant, white perhaps lithium grease for the ribbons/ wheels, mine had dryed up patches of grease, some I cleaned off the ribbons before the pictures where taken. I'll check the new one in a year, may regrease , cleaning it out to try to prevent this from happening again. I did add some plastic under the airbag to improvise a dust shield for the new spiral cable. Car has 197k bought it with 106k , now has around 60 k from driving on the route.
My 2000 F-350 SD 4X4 V-10 has no cruise control, and the A/C controls are not powered. Is it possible that both these power option circuits are run through a fuse link, and better yet, through the same fuse link? A/C has been troublesome in the past, but the cruise quit one day without warning. All fuses are good. Tried jumping the A/C pressure switch to recharge it, but no power is present.

View 4 RepliesMy passenger side power window does not work from the drivers side control, but works from the passenger control. I replaced the master switch on the driver side and it still does not work. I have checked the fuses--Side, below and under the hood and have even found inline fuses below--all were good. Could the dealer have to program my new switch? I do not have child safety locks.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 LS360L with 4-zone climate control. For whatever reason, the rear seat controls and display do not work for climate control. The controls still work for radio, rear seat adjustment and window shades, but climate functions are unoperable.
Additionally, the 4-zone buttons on the nav touchscreen are now missing in the climate menu. There used to be left / right passenger settings and then a button to switch to rear seat settings. These options have all disappeared from the menu.
I can press the 4-zone physical button on dash and manually change temperature settings for driver or passenger by pressing physical driver / passenger temperature up / down buttons.
The only thing I can attribute to this is I had the dealer do a map upgrade to the nav system. All other features / functions work, but the timing is somewhat suspect... They really do not believe this upgrade caused the problem.
Are there hidden menus I may have hit to deactivate this feature?
I used to have LED brake lights in my taillights and decide to change them to old regular bulbs. After that Saturday 3am cruise control don't want to work. Then in the morning with all the lights off (headlights turns etc) the cruise works, as soon as I turn the lights on it stop working. I try to see the what's the cruise control fuse in the fuse card but I can't figure out which one is. 99 passat GLS manual trans.

View 5 RepliesJust got my first X(and Ford) a couple days ago. Anyways, the cruise control doesn't work. I checked the CC switch on the master and it tested fine and I installed new switches on the steering wheel.
When I do the self diagnostic test with the steering wheel switches they all test fine, and on the last button(set) it lights up, but no other flashes. What does that mean? In 1 thread it stats that 0 flashes is the speed control servo.
This is an a 2010 Corolla with standard 4 speaker system and factory bluetooth.
I bought a Kenwood DDX470 which has bluetooth capability. I unhooked the power to the blu-logic module, but I had to keep the other plugs connected or the speakers wouldn't work. I also purchased the Axxes SWC-1 module for controlling the volume etc. from the steering wheel. Everything is working except for the steering wheel controls. Does the blu-logic controller has anything to do with the steering controls?
I have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.
