2007 honda crv fwd ... My car does an intermittent groan/rub thing when its been running for a bit and I am making turns. No rhyme or reason as to when it randomly happens. The repair was for my ac compressor...so its not that. It's also fed so its not the common rear dif issue Honda has.
View 16 RepliesMy 07 Honda Accord has an occasional popping and clicking sound. It happens most when I'm in reverse and cutting the wheel into a parallel park. My mechanic thought it was a transmission issue and did a transmission flush...but it's not happening when I'm switching gears and it seems and feels to me like it's more in the body of the car.

View 22 RepliesI have an 04Honda Civic manual transmission that suddenly started making an ugly groaning sound whenever i accelerate, apply the brakes, or turn. It sounds like a metal-on-metal noise like something is loose or cracked. It even happens if I turn the steering wheel when the car is stationary. I tried to listen to where it's coming from, but all I can tell is that it's somewhere in the front suspension.
Mechanic said he didn't see anything wrong on the front suspension, but recommended replacing rear control arms.
Our 2008 Honda Accord has about 89,000 miles on it. For the last few years, it has been making a creaking/groaning sound at low speeds. Generally between 10-20 miles an hour (so you hear in more in rush hour when you are generally annoyed anyway), only when its hot (due to extensive driving or weather - we live in Texas so its awful in the summer) and it does not correlate to using the brakes. We took it to Honda and they said the "bushings" were worn but not broken so they wouldn't fix it. Our own shop has replace both front control arms. The right side they did last week and 3 days later the sound is starting up again. Its almost as if they can lube it to fix it temporarily but I'd much rather a permanent fix. My father in law suggested the struts.

About a year ago, I'd notice a problem with the a/c occasionally stopping, but at other times I'd turn on the car and it would work. Sometimes it would not work when I started the car but after I'd driven for a while it would kick on. But, for the past 4 months or so, it has stopped coming on completely. What could this be? And... what sort of figure am I looking at to get this repaired?

I recently changed out the bearing and hub on the front right but I still have the noise when turning left. Also, when driving normally and going straight there seems to be somewhat of a dull click click click noise.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 F-150 STX 2WD with a 2.5" leveling kit on it. I recently have noticed a rubbing sound that can be felt in the steering wheel and gas pedal the instant you turn right. I just replaced both hub assemblies and I just really don't know what it could be. It doesn't happen when you turn left or go straight and there should be no reason as to why my tires rub, because they haven't before. I got my truck aligned and they checked my joints and everything and said that it was fine....
View 13 RepliesSo I just completed my hydroboost install and fixed exhaust manifolds. After this install the below problem started.
ISSUE: While going slow and straight no problems. Slightest bit of turning effort left or right makes a sound like a tire rubbing on leaf springs. I can also feel the vibration. It happens in drive while moving or in neutral while moving. Happens wither hubs in auto or locked. Happens in 2wd or 4wd. It's not the steering pump cause it wines a tad now when brakes applied and I turn steering wheel. So I know what that sounds like. Expected that.
Jacked it up and checked for any movement in steering or ball joints and found nothing.
X does not make the sound above 15 mph. It's annoying....sounds and feels exactly like tire lugs hitting the leaf springs but they are not.
I have a rubbing sound that seems to be coming from the steering column when turning. Don't hear it outside of cab just in the inside.
View 4 RepliesI have the most terrible clunking/rubbing sound on my right passenger side, especially when I'm turning left. When I drive straight it sounds like the wheel is hopping even when going over minuscule imperfections in the road. I also get a terrible rub when going over speed bumps or into grooves and dips in the road.
I've searched and searched but cannot come up with a answer towards rectifying the issue. My car hasn't been lowered; I'm running the stop 337 suspension. I've replaced the following within the past two years:
-control arm bushings
-ball joints
-tie rod ends
-upper strut bushings and bearings
-passenger side axle
-dog bone mount
-engine mount
-tranny mount
Most recently:
-front struts
-sway bar end-links
-driver's side axle
It seems to like everything should be solid considering I've done all of this crap. I don't understand why I'm having this issue and why it sounds like it is getting worse and worse.
Early this week my car started making a loud knocking/rubbing sound (Kind of in between when your brakes are ground down to the rotor and a knocking pattern).
FIRST, it started only when I turned slightly left or left.... NOW, it's doing it as I go straight and when I turn to the right as well... oddly enough it's not as bad when going left anymore...
What this could be?? And if it's an easy DIY fix..... (maybe a link on how) and how much the part(s) might be?? I've taken video (for sound as I drive)...but not sure if I can upload it (size limit).
Recently picked up a certified '14 IS 350. Noticed a quite regular 'creak' or 'rubbing' like noise when going over bumps and such, emanating from my left ear area of the car. If i open the window slightly these noises essentially go away. I'm guessing the closing of the window tweaks the door frame which tweaks the sealing of the door... And so the noise of probably the seals rubbing in just the wrong way. (Not thrilled that this is occurring in a car of Lexus' quality reputation).
View 4 RepliesI have a 2007 Ford Fusion SE 2.3L 4 cylinder. It has approximately 94,000 miles on it. I purchased new Sumitomo tires with a 100,000 mile warranty in February of this year. They were balanced and aligned at the time of install. So far they have been very smooth and quiet with great grip. About 2 months ago I started hearing a noise that sounds like uneven tire wear, a sort of rhythmic rubbing or wobble sound that increases in frequency as the speed increases. It is most noticeable at speeds between 30 and 50mph. I rotate the tires every other other change (at least twice a year) and had the alignment done again in late October. I am hoping that there is nothing wrong with my virtually brand new tires. Is there anything else it could likely be?

View 12 RepliesHere is the issue with my car. It's a 1995 Honda Accord sedan, automatic transmission, inline 4. For the past 6 years or so, when you take a turn at a certain angle and a certain amount of acceleration and a certain amount of speed, it'll make something like a rhythmic grinding sound until you straighten the wheel and escape the turn. It happens far more often on left turns than right turns.
Adding to the oddity, say you are getting ready to take a left turn. Now if you are at a turn where the angle, acceleration and speed necessary to make the sound -- the sound can be completely avoided if you accelerate straight, let go of the accelerator, then use the momentum to turn, let the wheel straighten out to complete the turn, then begin to accelerate again.
A while ago I took it to a major repair center and they took out all the axles and some how concluded that it was the transmission. I really don't understand how it could be that, as the car shifts fine, and the sound never occurs when going straight. This past week, I took it to another mechanic, and he concluded that it was the axle shaft on the left side, maybe the axle shaft on the right.
So I had the left axle shaft replaced. I drove it home and didn't notice it, thought it worked; the mechanic himself drove the car around for hours after and didn't notice anything. Just to be sure, I take the car into a cul-de-sac that has the perfect turn angle to make the sound. Guess what, it's still there, albeit muted a little bit.
I am wondering if it's worth it to fix the other axle shaft, how it's possible that it could be the transmission, or if it's anything else that's possibly wrong. Again, this sound has been going on for years. I am completely frustrated and want it gone. I am thinking about making a video with the sound...
I'm driving a 2000 Chevy S-10 pickup, 5 spd manual, with about 133k miles on. Truck has been great for the 11 years I've owned it. I've had this problem for a while, and for some reason am only getting around to it now, as I've never directly asked a mechanic to fix it or diagnose it. I think because it didn't seem urgent, and out of fear I'll get the runaround on what it actually is.
But now, what was once just a sort of "groaning sound" when I turned the wheel, has now actually turned into some tightness in the wheel itself -- especially if the car is cold or hasn't moved in a while. Here's a video clip of the sound: [URL]...
I suspect it's a problem with the power steering fluid system. I've been parallel parking for years, and don't know if that's what's had an impact.
my '06 Honda CRV makes a short scraping sound when turning. But more interestingly, it only makes this sound when the car has just been started. If I've been driving, the sound will not occur. The sound itself is a short scrape which seems to originate in the rear passenger side of the vehicle. I've researched this problem a bit, but everything I've turned up is related to the AWD model, while my CRV is 2WD. Just had the brakes serviced and checked, so that's out as well.
