View 14 RepliesIn my 2010 Prius,My wife and I and another friend have noticed a blind spot behind the mirror on the windshield, such that I don't "see" drivers approaching from the right on a "4-way" intersection. I am a cautious driver, yet noticed several years ago that I occasionally started up across an intersection before the car on my right....I didn't SEE THEM.
This is because the mirror is mounted relatively low. I am only 6'1'' but my wife who is 5"10 also noticed this problem. In San Francisco, going down a hill, it is often hard to see a car approaching from the right. I am going to the dealer for something else and will ask that my mirror be remounted.
My 202 Honda Civic EX is having serious 'bad vibes' that the mechanic has not been able to fix. actually, i don't think he has even driven my car, much less even tried to fix the problem. meanwhile, it's driving me crazy. the mechanic just replaced the motor mounts. I got in the car and the problem is STILL there. the vibration is easy to see when the car is idling - the hood vibrates and the rear view mirror also shakes, I can feel the vibration in the driver seat and steering wheel. i can also feel the vibration in the passenger seat, though it is a little less noticeable. There is also a noise to go along with the vibration, especially when idling, it sounds as if i need a new muffler, but i can't hear the sound outside of the car, only inside the car. What the problem is?
View 5 RepliesLooking for Blind Spot Monitoring System that can be installed on the GX.
View 8 RepliesCan't find the Blind Spot Monitoring system under settings. On page 139 of the Owner's Manual it says, "Make sure not to cancel the systems accidentally". And that's just what I've done. Now how do I get this back? And why would there be a way to "Cancel" a feature that can be turned ON/OFF?
View 1 RepliesReally like the Blind Spot Monitor system in the car. The visual part of with the mirrors works great but the volume part in the car is too low especially with radio on. I'm told by Dealership Service that it cannot be adjusted. I find this hard to believe especially seeing this is an all electronic system. There's got to be a way to have a volume control or menu control on it????
View 1 RepliesI have a 2009 Honda Civic with powered retractable side view mirrors. Unfortunately one of the mirrors is broken and is perpetually trying to retract (or unfold). Aside from the motor constantly running the mirror functions fine. I looked into replacing the mirror assembly with a new replacement part but noticed that none of the replacement parts feature a blinker on the front cover of the assembly, as the original does. I assume that the wiring is not present in the replacement part so swapping in the old cover would not be sufficient.
Is the scrap yard route for finding a replacement part my best option? Is there an easy way to disable the motor without disabling the other features (the blinker and power tilt adjustment)?
I have a blind spot sensor option on ny is, but im curious about where it is located beside the mirror icon. I dont have those visible circle sensors on my rear bumper.
View 2 RepliesHaving problem with the blind spot detector ( BSD ) been intermittent on and off at times. This is a Santa Fe Sport 2014, has been in the shop two times with the same issue and no results.
View 2 RepliesWe're looking to buy a 2013 or 2014 RX350 and have a couple questions about equipment. Specifically, is blind spot monitoring standard equipment for either year 2013 or 2014 or is this an option?
If heated seats are listed as an option for an RX does this mean that "cooled" or Ventilated seats are automatically included for years 2013 or 2014? I ask because I've seen "heated" seats listed on Autotrader, but the controllers pictured include heated and cooled. Of the cars, we've looked at they only had both heated/cooled or nothing. We haven't seen heated only.
If the RX does NOT have heated seats, is the leather still perforated for 2013/2014 models or is it solid like previous years?
I just noticed this morning that both rear parking assist and BSD on my 2015 SFS Limited are not working. Other than the button near the shifter to turn off the audible alarm for parking, I don't recall any other buttons or settings that would turn both systems off. I won't have access to the user manual until later this evening. I did clean off the rear parking sensors but that didn't change anything. Am I missing something?? What's common? Perhaps a fuse?
View 12 RepliesI'm not sure if this is a problem others have experienced here but for the last few months my rear view mirror angle would drop down and every morning when i got in the car i would need to readjust. I then thought that like every other moving part of the P that needs adapting that maybe the same applies to the mirror so i moved it to it's highest then lowest points, moved the seat all the way back, got out, locked the car, unlocked it, the seat and mirror had returned to the position stored in the memory and for the last month the mirror has not moved so I'm thinking that this has solved the problem.
View 1 RepliesMy rear view mirror looks to be dying. Yesterday morning it started with what looked like a hairline crack through the middle of the glass. Several hours later it appeared to be de-laminating itself. It looks like water is stuck between 2 layers of glass. Obviously not happy with this as TOD is just around the corner and don't want to be traveling over 1200 miles with limited rear view visibility. [URL]..........
View 7 RepliesI constantly need to adjust my rearview miror every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. It seems to droop down a little bit at a time during that time period. I ran a forum search on this topic but no matches found.
View 7 RepliesA week or so ago there was a topic about the rear view mirror dimming. I replied that mine worked on the inside but not the outside mirrors. I just re-read two or three different brochures and found that the outside mirrors do just about everything except dim! Go figure.
View 1 RepliesI bought a used 2010 model and here's a pic of my rearview mirror. Please note the base of the mirror assembly and the location where it's attached to the windshield. Seems kinda low to me. Can other 2010 owners chime in if your mirror is attached at the same spot (or not)?
View 5 RepliesI need to remove the passenger side rear view mirror. To do so, according to the workshop manual, I will have to remove the interior door panel first. Is that right or are there any shortcuts?
View 2 RepliesGetting the metal mirror base off the rest of the assembly? My mirror fell off the windshield, probably due to a poor glue job a few years ago when the windsheild was replaced. Now for the life of me, I can't get the black metal base off the rest of the mirror to glue it back on. It looks like there are a couple of small holes for a pin spanner, but I've tried that and nothing budges.
View 6 RepliesThere is a small crescent shape of clear mirror on the top middle of my mirror. I think the dimming "juice" has been compromised. Am I SOL or is there a way to fix it? What vehicles are interchangeable and is there a mirror that's better that I could swap in?
View 10 RepliesIs it possible to upgrade my 2010 rx450 mirrors to add automatic folding and blind spot warning? Want to keep the car but would love those features.
View 2 RepliesFound little black box behind the rear view mirror. First I thought it's rain sensor for wiper, but my car doesn't equipped with rain sensing wiper, so what it is?
