Sierra :: 1993 - All Gears Lost While Driving On Highway - Bad Transmission Pump
I have a 4l60e transmission that was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago, I was driving on the highway when all gears were lost. There is clicking in the front part of transmission. Can I just replace pump? Fluid is clean no pieces in pan, are cluthes still good?

I have the opportunity of getting i believe a 2004 accent gt for next to nothing. It recently lost reverse and all gears aside from first. The codes it is triggering are p0734 p0732 and p0733. Prior to throwing the codes it moved back but wouldn't budge forward. With codes no reverse or any gear higher than first. Car has 160k miles I am pretty mechanical. Should I run from this "cheap" "gas saver" or pick it up? With all 3 codes could it be just that sensor?

Lost all acceleration yesterday while driving at highway speed. Tire pressure light came on also large warning sigh and check engine . Had been stuck in bumper to bumper traffic before this with AC on.Gas pedal to the floor but no acceleration. I pulled over and shut off car. When I tried to restart the lights mentioned above went out Except the check engine, NOW all the brake warning lights are on in a yellow color including the emergency brake.Brakes do stop the car (had to push it onto the tow truck) Car comes on but does not display the READY sign.

I'm having trouble with the automatic transmission in my 04' Elantra, it acted like the speed sensor was failing, but later the same day it lost all gears, forward and reverse. after turning the car off and sitting a while I started it back up and had gears again, but the trany is making noise. Fluid level is ok.

On the way home tonight my dad was driving his camry and lost all gears. As far as I know there was no clunking or noises it just lost all gears. I can put the selector into any position and the engine does nothing but rev. Car doesn't try to move at all. "Manual" mode doesn't make a difference either. No fluid leaks that I am aware of and I've done every oil change on his car. Park works as far as I know if that matters. Its almost as if its stuck in neutral. I checked the transmission fuse under the dash and it is not blown. Thinking maybe the solenoid pack went out?

I rebuilt my turbo 350 transmission. I drove it about two blocks and checked my fluids. Everything was fine. So I drove it down town....two or three miles and I lost all gears forward and reverse. I got a ride home and left the car for about three hours then I went back to get it. The transmission shifted fine as i drove it home. I have parked the car since i cant trust the trans not to break down. As I drove to town I noticed a slight vibration in the trans area.

I was driving down the highway when I lost all oil pressure soon after I lost power steering and the engine died. I have checked the radiator and it is still full of fluid pulled the starter off and try to crank it it still turns the cannot get the engine to turn over it clicks but wont turn over there are no oil leaks underneath the vehicle that I can see. We have a 2003 GMC Envoy. Normally upon starting the car, the engine will rev high for a few minutes while driving and then it stops and returns to normal. However, this morning I was driving the car and it was revving high continuously. Every time I started from a stop at a light, it would rev up to 2 RPM's and continue higher while the car was just sluggish. I would let off of the gas pedal and it would drop back down and slowly shift but then it would return to making a loud revving sound as I stepped on the gas pedal. There are no lights lite up on the dashboard and everything looks normal except for the loud revving sound and the car being sluggish because of the high revving.

So while I was in gear i felt a thunk and suddenly the car had no driving power in any of the gears including reverse. Pulled over popped the hood and checked my linkage. Everything was still connected as far as i could tell. Had my buddy watch the linkage while i shifted through the gears, everything checked out normal. While in gear the car still rolls so obviously something internally isn't jivin. Haven't gotten under it yet, doubt that will tell me anything. 130k miles had her for less than a year haven't gotten around to picking up a bentleys yet. I'll grab one tomorrow since nothings open today.

Subie was driving fine...drove it on highway and went to park and NO reverse. At first, I couldn't shift into park either, but then I was able to shift in park. I can move the gear to reverse, but nothing happens (engine just revs and car wants to roll forward as it is on slight incline. Hubby checked trans fluid and it was a bit low, added fluid, but still no reverse.

So I was driving down highway when I lost power. Engine was still running just had no power and would blow black smoke when I got on the accelerator. I pulled the EGR valve and noticed it had rocks stuck keeping the valve open. Cleaned it all up and put it back in. Went for test drive and seemed good again until few miles in same problem. Took it apart again and same thing.. rocks. I did this 3 times with same results...rocks getting stuck in my valve.

I have a 04 Explorer 4.0 4x4 with 130,000 mi. It all started about 3 months ago. The truck would neutral out while driving. After changing tranny fluid and filter, along with rear speed sensor the problem returned after driving 3-4 miles. After digging deeper I found the transfer case was bone dry and fried inside. Replaced the TC and check fluid level again. Back out of garage and drove the vehicle approx. 2 miles. Stopped to grab a coffee and left truck running. Returned to find I had no reverse or drive. This is after driving it to where I was. Towed truck back home.
I noticed the vehicle would start in gear. Replaced neutral safety switch ( grooves properly aligned ). Started truck, reverse lights come on when in reverse.. The problem now is when I put vehicle into R,N,D,3,2,1, the truck does one thing... REVERSE. All gears put truck into reverse, no forward movement at all. I attempted to replace safety switch a couple of weeks ago but was unable to remove the nut holding the lever on. 2 days I spent on that nut. Now I'm wondering if I did something inside the tranny when I was wrenching on that nut for 2 days?
Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2004 - Clutch Lost All Resistance / Hard To Get Into Reverse
I'm not very mechanical when it comes to cars. I have never had any clutch issue with my car. I arrived to work yesterday fine. When I started to leave it was incredibly hard to get into reverse and I had to force shifting after I left and the clutch had also lost all resistance and I could easily push it all the way to the ground. What could be a cause of the clutch always working perfect including the last time you drove it, and then 8 hours later you start up and it has done a 180. The fluid level is fine. I would presume if my clutch had went I have have slowly noticed it going.

My car has an intermittent crackling noise when changing gears from park to reverse, park to drive, and vice versa. It also starts squeaking (coming from the engine) when backing up. The crackling noise almost sounds like sparks.
Having that issue in their generation 2 Prius? I was told by the service adviser that it was the brakes. I think it sounds like a bad issue, although I was told it was completely normal, and maybe they can clean something. Is this pretty commonplace?

I have 2005 Prius with 110k. Yesterday, red triangle and check engine light came on and I lost power while driving...SCARY. Took it by dealership. They called this am and said it needed a new HV-ECU and that would cost $800. The error codes they gave me were P0A78 and P0A94. Anything else I should ask them to look at? I'm wondering if the HV ECU is something I could buy used and install myself? I'm not a mechanic but am comfortable with most DIY projects.

While I was driving my car suddenly was losing power.I tried to hit the "gas" pedal harder and it didn't react.It stayed on the same gear and after 2-3 seconds it was ok. After 10 minutes it happened again but this time I couldn't do anything. I thought it was the transmission problem so I went into manual mode to shift it down. It didn't work at all - I was shifting down but didn't have power so I had to stop. I stopped put in P turn engine on and everything came back to normal.It's worth mentioning that one time time I had to pull over and I didn't turn the car off. After couple minutes the car started to vibrate and died. I turned on and everything was ok. Fuel filter or is it something else?

I was at an intersection and red triangle came on dash and lost all driving functions. Had to turn power off, then turn back on. Was able to drive 100 yards to a parking spot, but it went out again. Reset car again, then it happened 4 more times within 2 miles while driving. Had to call tow truck. Just kept shutting itself down. How to fix this. See picture below for the message I got when it happened. This is the first time my car has malfunctioned like this. I think maybe its throwing itself into park or neutral (judging by the P-lock message below) and cuts all throttle control to car. Has 105,000 miles on it.

I just bought my first Lexus, picked up a 2008 GX 470 with only 35k miles!
I just had the TSB for the "Clunk" issue fixed and I had a tire sensor that was leaking and had that fixed.
The ONLY other issue I am having is that there is a vibration at between 1250-2000 RPM and it's most prevalent at 1500 RPM, but it is gone above 2000 RPM. This happens while in park and hitting the accelerator to get to those RPM and it happens in all gears while driving, which is especially annoying because the SUV typically is sitting right at 1500 RPM while driving.
The Lexus dealer thought the driveshaft TSB would take care of the vibration, but it didn't.
