For about 4 months now, water has been leaking into the passenger side of my truck. I popped off the kick panel near the door and poured water down the windshield near the bottom. Water comes out of a small hole in the metal behind the kick panel. 2005 GMC Sierra v6....

View 5 RepliesMy 2002 Sienna has water pooling in the front passenger side. We pulled up some of the front carpet and it's soaking beyond the passenger side. We need to find out where the water is coming from. It correlates to rain, but we tried hosing the passenger door and front windshield but didn't see any water coming in.
View 30 RepliesI have a 2006 Jeep Liberty 4X4 Limited edition with a sunroof. Last year, after a hard rain, I went out to my car to find about 3 inches of water in the passenger side floorboard. I immediately took it to the Jeep Dealer, who told me that the sunroof was simply clogged with debris. They cleared out the channels and all the debris and said I would be good to go. Not so much. It's a year later and after checking the heating coils, weather stripping, windshield, windows, etc, etc... It STILL FLOODS! The water comes ONLY through the screw that holds the sun visor in the roof. The roof of the car never gets wet. I have taken it to several body shops other that then Jeep dealer and no one has any clue. I now keep microfiber towels and a shop vac in my car at all times. I'm worried about the damage this will do to my car eventually, particularly in terms of the electrical parts of the car.

I haven't seen where it enters but it doesn't appear to be from the moon roof, or the windows (doors seem dry) so I assume it's from one of the doors but the weatherstripping looks to be intact. It looks like there's a rubber outlet in the hinge area of the front door - could it be from there?

View 3 RepliesI have a Toyota Aygo which leaks water into the passenger side foot space, so that when it rains, about 2 inches of water collects where the passengers feet would be.
It's been in to the dealer three times to fix, they replace the door seals but it seems to me that the rain isn't coming in via the door or window, but up through the floor somehow, ie seems to come up through the carpet suggesting it's coming in from somewhere else!
Last year I found out that the roof drainage system can get clogged over time. This result is water in places that you cant imagine. Its raining on the east coast and I see water in the passenger side wheel well, which means that the problem is back.
View 2 RepliesWhenever it rains a substantial amount, like all day I go out to my 92 Ranger and get in and notice the passenger side rubber floor mat has a puddle of water on it. I look under the floor mat and only the center of the carpet there is wet. I see it's getting the edge of that side of the headliner wet and ruining the new headliner had redone. I didn't realize there was water leaking until I got my headliner redone and put back in. It very well could have been leaking causing the headliner cloth to all tear. It's wet along the top passenger side where the grab handle is and the plastic trim. I thought it was the rain gutter on top of the roof so I put in some black silicone and some of it stopped but not all.
So I thought it was still leaking at the front corner so I put more silicone in. Don't know yet if that was what it was for sure but I'll find out tomorrow because it's raining pretty good right now. But just in case where else could it be getting this much water in. If you go through a carwash, or hose it down for awhile, or even drive while it's raining bad it won't get water inside. I'm not convinced it's the rain channel 100% because on the driver's side the putty filling the rain channel on the roof looks worse than the passenger side and there's no water coming in on the driver's side. There is no water coming in the back or on the back carpet or headliner.
I don't see any evidence around the windshield. I can't understand why only the middle of the passenger side carpet is soaked and not the top or under the seat, unless it's just soaking through the rubber floor mat and not drying out. It's getting so frustrating because I can't visibly find any evidence, I have to wait until it rains and then I can't see why it happens. It's ruining my carpet and my new headliner. I want to replace the carpet but want the leak stopped first. Where are common trouble areas on these 92 Rangers for water leakage?

View 3 RepliesI have a new 2015 Accord. After a recent rain storm I found about an inch of water in the well where the spare tire is stored. I took it to the dealer and they ran numerous leak tests but could not reproduce the problem.
Since the car was parked during the storm, I don't see how the water could have gotten in there except via one of the light assemblies or by getting past the gasket. In other words, it wasn't blown up into the trunk from the roadway. The puzzler is that the carpet in the car was dry when I found the water. I googled this for hours and I don't find others with 2015 trunk leak complaints. All the complaints are for earlier model Accords.
Recently my 2013 Hyundai Elantra was subject to a hit and run. It is a new car with less than 2000 miles on it since October 2013. There was 9K in damage, most of which pertained to the back driver's side and the axle. Bumper, quarter panel, trunk floor, axle, wheel bearings, and two rims had to be replaced. Plus incidentals like tail lights and such. Because this is a new car, I received all new parts as a replacement. When the car was returned to me, the back seat kept getting wet in the rain.
After taking back to the shop twice, they finally diagnosed a small hole in the seal in a seam of the quarter panel area---something must have happened when putting everything back together. The door is fine and there is no moon / sun roof on the vehicle. I do not completely understand what this means. I know some basics about cars, but not to this level of detail. I searched by topic area and couldn't find anything that was related to this type of reason for water in the car.
Have the following questions: How a small hole in a quarter panel area would cause water to get into the back seat (on seat and floor)? What would be good things to watch out for post-fix? It is still a bit damp and rainy here, so I can't open the windows for things to dry out. Would have been nice for the collision center to dry the seats. How can I make sure mold/mildew won't develop?
It doesn't look like the lens is separable from the headlamp assembly?
I think while very thoroughly washing the car and engine compartment after purchase, I must have gotten water into the assembly - maybe from the back side ... should I just wait it out?
So i have a 2005 mkiv TR GLI. I had thought that the car leaks water at the front passenger side however it was a little drip, until last night. It rained heavily last night and I got in my car to find a good amount of water under my front passenger side mat, nowhere else. I left no windows open, and it looks to be running down between the side of the dash, and the inside of the door on the passenger side.
View 10 RepliesMy 2005 Neon has had a leaking problem for quite some time. It rains...a lot! After a decent rainfall, when I start the car and the first couple times I accelerate, there is an audible hissing sound, and then the water drips in from underneath the dash on the passenger side. The leak is getting progressively worse, and I'm concerned the interior carpets will get moldy. I recently brought the car in for it's 60K checkup, and all is good. The only thing they could find leaking are the seals on the passenger door. Unfortunately, these seals aren't made anymore, and the cost to purchase them is quite expensive, and may or may not fix the leaking issue.

For about a month, after a good rain, I have a puddle of water in the floor carpet of the front passenger side - while parked. It develops from the center of the car to about the middle of the floor below the seat. So since that is the case I don't think the side window is leaking but I have looked for signs of water coming in. Nothing. The windshield was replaced about 5 years ago but again, no signs that water is coming in from there either. It can't be from the bottom of the car, right? I mean it happens while it is parked, so that doesn't make sense.

Last week, after some intense rain last week in Greenville, NC, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that there was a puddle of water on the floor of the passenger's side. I looked for a cracked window or maybe a leak from the windshield, but I couldn't see anything; besides, the floor was the only part that was wet (the dashboard, the seat, and the inside of the door were completely dry). Today I took the car in for an oil change to the local Honda dealer and I mentioned the issue to them, and asked whether they could take a look at it. They did and they said they could not find a leak anywhere. Where the water might come from? Is this common? How to prevent it from happening again?
View 7 RepliesHave a 05 Explorer and every time it rains, water gets in and soaks the front passenger side floor. It only happens after it rains and happens even if it is not driven. I am pretty sure there is a drain line plugged up someplace from the cowl, just not sure where it is. The toe kick seems to stay dry but the floor gets soaked.
View 4 RepliesIt's from rain, but only getting to the front passenger floor area. And this just started in the last month. Decades ago I had a VW Rabbit that would get serious water, in all 4 quadrants, in rain or a car wash. But I figured that one out, the "gutter" in front of the windshield was jammed up with dead leaves, once those were cleared, no more water coming in.
So, when this Avalon leak appeared, that was the first area I checked. There was a bit of leaves and twigs, which I cleared away, but the worst of it was on the drivers's side and as I mentioned, no problem there.
It seems rain is coming into the passenger floor area. When I have checked the bottom windshield area I have notice that some rubber/plastic line is not inserted all the way but cant be inserted. Accent 2006....
