G20 - Infiniti :: 1996 - Sunroof Malfunction / No Longer Slide Or Tilt

2 days ago, our 1996 G20'S sun roof slid open as normal. Unfortunately It would not slide back to a closed position. The roof's motor can be heard running when both switches are depressed (for either function) ; sliding and tilting. The roof will no longer do either function. I was able to pull the sun roof closed by hand but could not make the back edge of the glass rise up to be sealed closed completely. Obviously it became disengaged from the motor somehow. Would it be somewhat possible for me to get inside of the roof to hook it all back together/replace parts ? Is the location of the motor behind the sunroof control panel?

Due to the way the armrest slides back to reveal the cup holder and then tilts it is hitting my sons legs while he is sitting in the rear seats. Cant quite see the logic in the design of this as when its slid back there is like 10 cm space between the back of the armrest and the rear seat. The design on our old 2007 was much better. No slide, just tilt. I know that my 3 boys in the back will find some way to damage it while its slid back or tilted back plus I dont really want my sons legs to be cut off in a potential accident. So my question is, how to successfully modify it to stop the slide and allow it just to tilt?

I have a 2007 Azera with a sunroof problem. Went to open the sunroof and found out it would not slide back, it would only lift up in the back. Went to close it and it would lower some, but not all the way. It goes to lower but then there is a click in the mechanism and it won't close completely. Tried the manual close to no avail.

I have a weird situation, when I open the sunroof then try to close it, it slides to the middle then opens again. After four trials the sunroof switches to manual then I close it manually.

I was noticing that the shade for the sunroof does not slide back 100%. It seems like they could have made it go back another inch or 2.

Picked up my new Mk7 last night, but I have an issue with the sunroof. It slides back and closes just fine, but won't tilt! How to fix this? I have a VCDS if needed.

I have purchased a used 2006 GS430, The sunroof never worked since I had taken ownership the sunroof does not open or tilt not a sound, I checked the fuse under the drivers dash and looked at what looks like a main fuse (#67) in the engine compartment alongside the battery both fuses looked good and I have disconnected the battery for 30 minutes to reset any minor faults, I have also tried holding the sunroof buttons for 30 seconds and still nothing.

I can't believe I did it, but I did. It was supposed to be a dry day here, and I left the sunroof tilted to allow for heat escape!
Well, massive downpour lasted more than an hour! and natch, prayers to the contrary, lots of water got in (not as bad as if it had been totally opened!)
So, the headliner is somewhat damaged. With the tilt, it seems like the water seeped in, possibly more than if it had been opened -- but I won't test that theory.
I figure the seats et al will dry out, but is there anything I can do to set the headliner as it dries? Or will I have to get it replaced?

So recently, on steep inclines or declines, the sunroof will tilt open to the first notch, all on its own. Sometimes it goes back, sometimes I have to turn it open and close it again. Nothing has changed, it just randomly started doing it in my driveway a few weeks ago (relatively steep driveway) I was parked on the slope with the car on, and it was just opening and closing and opening and closing.

I'm looking for directions on how to disassemble the sun roof to figure out which part is broken. It slides open and closed but will not tilt up. (It will tilt by pushing up on it from inside but won't stay open; it just falls back in place).

I have a 1996 infiniti we bought in 2006 has ran good until the last 2 years. when you slow down at a red light or stop sign it will die on you. We have had the fuel pump, Mass flow sensor,starter, spark plugs,rewire harness for MAF and I think not to long ago the alternator was replaced also. But when you are driving the radio will turn off then the car will die the air also stops working. It does this when the weather is getting hot only does not seem to do it in the winter maybe a few times but the summer it is almost every time you drive it.

My car has worked fine since I got it 1 year ago, I just put a new battery a few months ago but when I tried to start it this morning it started for a second then completely shut off. I cant even take the key out of the ignition (infiniti q45 has a button on the ignition that needs to be pushed while taking the key out and that button is stuck now.) When I open the door, the lights on the side of the door and the open door sound work but they are both very distorted and faint.

I recently traded in my old '96 Infiniti for this great 2001 PT Cruiser. It drives great ,,mileage is at 76K and in very good condition .. except for this. Whenever I am driving and going over minor or major bumps I get a lot of loose RATTLING, clacking noise from the front end. Obviously from the tires bouncing up and down. Is this typical for this particular PT? I remember having that in an old Jeep of mine too. Very boxy sounding in the front.

I have 1996 Infiniti I30. I have had to replace the brake light switch on multiple occasions. And even now it appears that I may have to again after replacing it about a two months ago. What would cause this, faulty switches or internal electrical problem?

I pulled it out last week to fix my aftermarket reverse monitor, so when i pulled the console i tested the light make sure i didn't screwed up anything. Then it was turned on for 2 seconds and slowly died. Since then, none of the button work !!! no sunroof, no homelink, nothing.
I've checked fuse already, 27, 35, 36 I believe. i replaced them all, still not working.

Recently purchased this 1996 Achieva. Had trouble starting it from the "get go". Had to turn the key and if the lights came on it would start when one turned the key further. If the lights (dash lights) didn't come on one would have to turn the car all the way off and try again. This process was getting longer and longer until it would not start at all. Mechanic says the computer is telling it that it is stolen. Also, it has a Pontiac steering column.

I have a 10' F150 and the radio has frozen. It will turn on but only displays the compass, Ext Temp, and time. All three of those items flash every two to three seconds. The controls in the steering wheel and dashboard no longer work (volume, seek, media, voice control...).
Things I've tried that haven't worked:
1. Turning the radio off and on
2. Restarting the truck
3. Pulling any fuses associated with the radio in the sub fuse box not sure of the technical name).

My fuel pump went bad on my 2.2 96 S-10 so I bought and installed a AC Delco MU1781 which is supposed to be the newer style pump for this application. It came with a new pigtail connector which I spliced into my vehicle harness.
So I install the pump, everything works great. Then I go to fill up the tank with 18 gallons of fuel and my dash gauge is only at about 3/4 fuel. It will not go up to half. I thought it was kinda strange when I poured in 5 gallons initially and I was barely off of empty.
So I took the pump back out and when the float is flat I get 1.5 ohms resistance. At the full position its about 90 ohms. Is this the correct range for the s-10? My Alldata subscription does not give ohm values for the sending unit. Can any one chime in or have other had issues with the MU1781?

So I just got a 96 850 GLT sedan knowing it had some work to be done. Gas gauge, odo, and trip don't function. Its not yet on the road but next week when it is registered I'm hoping to have this fixed.
Now the gas gauge does go all the way down when car is off, but when started it barely gets off E. The low fuel light goes on only sometimes. The trip is stuck on 0 and the odo stuck as well. Without these 3 working no way of knowing fuel level.
Also the guy I bought it from said after he did the brakes the ABS and trac off lights came on. they did go off for like 5 mins on the ride home but came back on. I switched from economy to sport mode on the way(don't know if that is related). The service light comes on and off as it pleases. The thing needs new cv joints as well! I'm hoping this is all I find!

My 96 Passat GLX-VR6 Wagon is blowing a white smoke that smells like maple syrup if I do any temp adjustments on my AC. It's also not blowing any cool or cold air in the coldest setting. Any thoughts? Heater Core? Just need freon?
