My dad gave me this car a year ago. In great shape however, we've had some issues with extreme vibrating. Motor mounts have been replaced, brakes and rotors are new, ball joints new, and tires still have good tread left. Vibration is so bad that the steering wheel shakes and so do the seats. It happens it park, neutral, and at stops. Its loud and very embarrassing.

View 13 RepliesI bought a 2010 toyota camry se. I have the most annoying vibration in the steering wheel, seats, gas pedal. Have taken it to several places, including a Toyota dealer.. They seem to not be able to find the cause. I've had wheels checked, balance, aligned, rotated. There is also an annoying clonking noise coming from the front passenger assembly. It's very sporadic as in only goes away when trying to have a technician hear it.
View 8 RepliesCould the constant wobble be caused from a bad wheel bearing? The wobbling and vibration gets really bad and it try's to setup an insistent shaking & vibrating at 35mph and I have to slow down to around 18 - 20mph to make it calm down. It sounds and feels like it wants to turn into the 'death wobble thing'. It is coming from the drivers side and after removing the drivers side front wheel, I've noticed the wheel bearing grease has all squished out all around the bearing on the inside of the bearing where the axle enters the bearing right after the ribbed boot. See the attached video. Does this grease coming out all over indicate that the wheel bearing is completely blown out thereby causing this extreme wobble and vibration?
Or could it be a from a combination of a worn tire on that side (which it has) and worn tie rods, ball joints, etc? ...after all the car is 19 years old.
I also have a problem with the heater blower - it does not work at any speed, doesn't even turn on. I can feel heat coming up into the car defrost and vents, but without the assistance of the blower. I can hear the relay click when I turn the heat on and off, and I already put in a new blower motor resistor. Could it be the fan switch itself? Or could the blower motor be blown? The fuses have been checked and are all good.
I have a bad wheel bearing but on the highway my steering wheel shakes. It is only on the highway not down residential streets. I'm pretty sure it is the driver's side wheel bearing. I already balanced my wheels and everything.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2004 fx4 supercrew 4x4 , 170k miles. I bought it a few months ago and installed a 6" rough country lift and 35" tires. I noticed a little shake in the steering wheel but not too bad, just annoying. I just put on a fabtech dual steering stabilizer to remedy the problem and its much worse. What could be at fault that dual stabilizer would make it worse? I hate to just take them off, I would rather find the problem. Oh, the tires are all balanced and I had an alignment done also.

They are balanced and all but just sound loud u can hear them rolling inside the cab sounds maybe like if I had mud tires but I don't they are all terrains. . I was told maybe the bearings but I don't know.
View 1 RepliesI've had my 07 HD F150 into the dealer a few times for this issue and they have not been able to repair it. When I use the brakes especially at higher speeds you can feel them turning like a warped rotor, sometimes it will make the steering wheel shake. It does it with both my summer tires (22") and my winter tires (17"). Even at slow speeds you can feel it.
The dealer keeps checking and says that the fronts are fine, last time they machined the rear rotors and said it was fixed. To me the fronts look pretty grooved but they keep saying they are fine. Which didn't make sense to me. The truck stops well and has good feel and power but I get this warped rotor feeling. Is the dealer missing something?
I have been ignoring a slight aggravating shake in the steering wheel for quite some time. I just assumed tire out of balance or slightly warped front rotor or some ball joint work due to approaching 80,000 miles. Well the slightly warped rotor became much worse so i dove into the front brakes. Long story short it ended up being the rear brake rotor/caliper sticking transferring the vibration to the steering wheel. With two other vehicles to maintain i missed/neglected the rear hardware on the truck. So keep the rear brake hardware on your radar for a front end shimmy. Its gone now and a pleasure to drive again. I do have the crew cab and 8' bed which gives the rear end a long lever.

But, I'm wondering why my service department (Boucher VW in WI) can't drive my car up to 70mph so they can feel the shake. The service manager said they absolutely cannot go over 65mph. So ofcourse they can't verify the shake and in turn won't balance my new front tires properly (VW replacements). Am I losing my mind here -- I can't have a car that doesn't shake at highway speeds? How to get them properly balanced through VW service?

View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 superduty 250 4x4 with the 6.0. I am having a violent shake in the steering wheel mostly and can feel it in throttle at about 45 to 60 and at 72 there is s growel. Have changed tires, wheels checked all ball joints tie rods wheel bearings ujoints. Don't matter brakes on or off, od on or off nothing changes it. I really don't know what else to check.

View 8 RepliesWe purchase a left over 2005 V8 and upon driving home I notice the steering wheel shook at about 63mph and throgh 75mph. A tell tail sign of the front tires being out of balance. Hard to believe at 150 miles.
So when I brought it in for a dead battery and to fix some issues it had when we picked it up (so much for Perfect Delivery) of course they gave me crap about not being able to go that fast and typical BS.
I told them it wasn't normal and I'm not an idiot. Plus the speed limit is 70pmh in lots of places out here. Taking a ride with the tech of course they see it happen, and try some BS about it being common in 4WD, typical response instead of being upfront.
So they are going to re-balance all the tires, but my GF noticed a slight pull to the right so I'm going to have them align it too (love how dealers think I enjoy bringing it back in) but is there any issue with the Truck, something beyond the simple fix I think it is?
There's no way a wheel should shake like that, even though they said it was slight. My Z has 25,000 miles and I can't feel any shake, and I've never felt another AWD truck do that. I just want to make sure I couldn't find any balljoint issues or something.
I have an 09 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport with 70k miles. I recently had new rotors and new tires replaced, an alignment and recently brought it into the dealer for its standard 60k tune up. I now feel a shimmy in my steering wheel at about 65-70 mph. It tends to come and go but I do a lot of highway driving and I feel it quite a bit. I already had the tires rebalanced 3 times and when that didn't fix the problem the shop replaced the tires with a brand new set. I still fill the shimmy. Is this a common problem with Subaru?
View 12 Replies2002 SC430 with 50k miles. I have a set of aftermarket Dolce rims that are 18" with the stock size tires. I have the eccentric spacers on them as well. They have been mounted and balanced. I also have a set of Dunlop snow tires on my stock rims. Obviously I do a seasonal change over.
With either set of tires I am getting a steering wheel shake at 60-65 mph. By 80mph its gone and the car glides perfectly. There is no pulsation in the brake pedal and there is minimal wear on the pads. Below 60mph there is no issues as well.
Tires are wearing evenly. Some roads will make the movement worse, but it always goes away at around 80 mph.
Now both sets of tires were mounted and balanced by the same shop. I assume that could be it...there machine is faulty. But I would like some other possibilities before I try somewhere else.
I got a 2006 Solara SLE. while braking from highway speeds, the steering wheel shakes VIOLENTLY. city driving its not noticable. cruising the car is silky smooth. The one front caliper was sticking and i replaced pads, pins, rotor. Still shakes. i tried swapping pins as one pin has a sleeve at the tip and i didnt remember which one went where. i did notice the pin with no sleeve fits loosely. the rotor is AZ Duralast brand. the car has 200k trouble free with no suspension work ever done.
I am lost what to do and need to make a long trip coming up. I was going to try in order- replace other rotor, spin the one rotor and replace guide pin with a sleeved one, then do lateral run out test/lathe, alignment, then if that dosnt work a stick of dynamite. Iheard a bad tie rod or ball joint can cause this, i find it unlikely as it would probably shake all the time. Other small issue is a loud thunk in the rear when it hits bumps. Rear swaybar mounts?
I've noticed when I'm towing, on long down hill grades if I touch the brakes I get what feels like a rotor causing the steering wheel to shake. At first it was only mild, but today on a long 6% grade it got really bad. Never does it on a level road, I've tried to duplicate it, only on a long down hill grade, and I'm not getting a pulse in the brake pedal at all, only the shake in the steering wheel. It's probably time to replace the pads anyhow, and I'll check the rotors. What things to look at?? 2006 F350, 6.0 dually 4x4.....

Before I got the alignment it had a shake in the steering wheel in acceleration mainly but more often at higher speeds. I was hoping that it would ride like butter but it's still shaking. The alignment was pretty bad before I took it to the shop today but what could the shake be coming from now? BTW I installed Ecs tuning rear wheel centering plates last night and I'm about to install their adjustable sway bar end links because I noticed last week that the sway bar had been rubbing the axle some.
View 14 RepliesI have 2012 sonata and she has about 43000 miles. I replaced 4 tires at 40000 miles. Soon after, steering wheel used to shake when I apply brake. So, I got front rotors resurfaced and got new front brake pads which solved the problem of steering wheel shaking. I also got alignment right after installing brake pad.
Since last week, I realized there is a vibration coming from front of my car when driving over 30 mph to about 70 mph.The vibration is present randomly and weird thing is that the vibration stops immediately when I apply brake. What may cause this problem?
I have a 2005 dodge Dakota when I'm driving the steering wheel will shake randomly.This isn't happening constantly when driving and it will stop after I make a turn. In addition it will happen randomly regardless of what speed I'm driving. What's going on?
