Ford - Escape :: 2010 - Engine Light Stays On Continuously - Code P144A

I own a Ford escape 2010. the engine light stays on continuously. The car wont pass inspection (required in MA). I just took the car to an Auto service place and they came up with the code P144A. Ford dealership refuses to provide me with a interpretation of that code # unless I bring it in and they can do a diagnostic themselves.... What that particular code is in english. (It has to do with the engine).

Ford - Explorer :: 1996 - Airbag Light Is Flashing A 5 2 Pattern And Then Stays On Continuously

I pulled the wrong fuse, and now my air bag light is flashing a 5 2 pattern, and then stays on continuously.

it's a 96 OBD II - so I don't think I can do the "short the 2 pin gray connector" trick, or can I?

I pulled the right kick plate, and see the AIR BAG module, etc the fuel inheria switch mounted on the firewall, but no sign of that 2 prong plug....

so, how does one reset or clear this 52 code - I know that it was a result of me pulling that fuse, as the light was perfect before, and no issues.

I googled this topic, and still can't seemed to find this... will I need to take it to a dealer to have them flash the Air Bag Code?

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: 2009 - CEL On With Code P144a - No Start - Key Fob Not Working?

Today my wife came home and said CEL was on, so I connected a bluetooth OBD2 reader (like I have done before) and read the codes, a P144a, which has something to do with the EVP. So, I shut the key off and proceeded to take the hose off of the EVP and unhook the wiring connector and then start the car to see if there was a vacuum leak through the valve. Well, when I went to start the car, it would not start. The Securilock icon was flashing on the dash and the car would only click, it would not turn over. I tried our spare key and got the same results.

I have tried unhooking the battery for 30 minutes but that has not made a difference either. Now, the key fob won't work at all, the door power locks won't work, the windows don't work, the radio, lights, heat and A/C won't work, and the dome lights won't come on. Whenever the battery is connected, I can hear a fast clicking sound coming from the area beneath and behind the radio and the front marker lights are on very very dim. The battery tests out at 12 volts. What in the world did I do and how can I fix it?

I should also note that I cannot get my OBD2 reader to connect to the system anymore. Also, after trying to leave the battery unhooked for 30 minutes again, the dome lights started working and the power locks would lock the door, but within about 3 seconds, the doors would automatically unlock. After turning the key to the start position, I again lost the dome lights and power locks.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Running Rough With Code P0171 - Engine Light Stays On?

I just started to have this problem yesterday. Engine light comes on and stays on. Engine shakes and truck won't go over 50 MPH. Autozone code checker came up with P0171.

Truck has about 95K miles and I had the spark plugs replaced at 75K miles.
Transmission was rebuilt at around that time also.

I only drove it to Autozone and back today to post the code and see what everyone's opinion is as to what's wrong.

Here's what the printout says : P0171 "Fuel Trim Bank One Condition"

Check engine light came on and stopped by the local autoparts store to get the error code.

Bank1 Sensor2 fault

Where is this O2 sensor? I've replaced O2's on other cars I've had and just want to make sure I replace the right one.

Phaeton :: AC Stays On Continuously, At About 68 Degrees

During my first year as a Phaeton owner, I had AC problems and tried to have it fixed. As usual, when you have the problem, it just seems to go away when you take your car into the dealer. It happens when I go on any extended trips, and have the AC on continuously, at about 68 degrees. There were four of us traveling yesterday and returning home today. The outside temp was 87 degrees, After driving for two hours, the cool air stopped coming out the vents. It was working real hard to provide a strong air sound that was harnessed only in the dash, and even when I lowered the temp it would not come out the vents.

I remember several years ago in an American Lincoln town car when we traveled from Florida to Georgia to avoid a hurricane, and it turned out we had no air when we got to GA. It was something called a blendor and I don't know if my Phaeton has any such monster.

I had the same problem in 2006 when I had to drive to NJ to bury a relative, and all through the funeral (in July when it was hot) I could not get any cool air to come out. The noise in the dash again seemed to tell me the air was blowing somewhere else, but I have no clue. Again took it to VW service, but could not recreate the problem. I also tried all the other positions as to where the air should come out (i.e., straight at your upper torso, down at your feet, etc.) but nothing worked.

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2010 - Check Engine Light Came On / Randomly Went Off While Idling

So my wife was driving our '10 escape xlt and the engine light came on and it displayed the 'check engine' message on the screen. It has 86500 miles and luckily no problems yet. The only thing that has changed was she accidentally put super premium gas in it the other day. The light came on and after she drove it home (about 10-12 miles) and it sat for a few hours and i drove it about 20 miles it randomly went off while it was idling.

I shut it off and let it sit for 20 minutes and then let it idle for a few and it never came back. It has been running ok. We definitely drive it a lot as she works day shift and i work nights. I'm just trying to make sure there's nothing wrong with it. I got a bulletin a while back about the intake getting moisture in it. I didn't know if maybe this could be the beginning of this or something else. This is a whole new territory for me as i consider my 91 f250 'new'

Prius (2010-12) :: Slip Indicator / ABS And Brake Warning Light All On Continuously

2010 Prius V owner as of last week. All has been going well and got into the car this morning and all of the above noted lights are on at start-up and stay on as I drive. Have made appointment with the dealer but they cannot get me in until late next week. I did make a short drive this morning and all seemed fine with handling and braking. Searched a few threads here and answers are very varied and none that I saw had all of above lights on. I don't think that it is the Hill Start Assist. Safe to drive until we can get into the dealership?

Deville :: 97 Cadillac Idling Rough - Service Engine Light Blinks On / Off Continuously

My car is idling rough and the Service Engine light blinks on/off continuously. I ran the codes and they are P0301, P0401 and P1258. What this could be? I changed the plugs, wires and ignition coils about a year ago. Catalytic converter was replaced around the same time but the O2 sensors hasn't been changed. Could that be the cause?

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2006 - O/D Light Come On - Code P0741

I have a Mazda Tribute 2006 2.3. The O/D light would come on, drove it to a friends to scan the check engine light code, and the car almost made it there and then wouldn't remove in reverse, forward, or anything. Turn it off then start it up still wouldn't, then turned it off let it cool and it worked again for a little while.

The code was P0741, just the one code. Took it to a shop to have further tests, they seemed to think it was the clutch was worn and when the fluid heated it lost friction.

Pulled the transmission and thought why not do a Transmission rebuild? I have never done one but there was an awesome video on youtube of the guy doing it so I figured it couldn't be too hard and was just going to try my first rebuild.

According to the guy in the video you always need all new bushing, and we will get a rebuild kit with new clutch packs and the other stuff that comes with those, and sounds like it's a good idea to replace the torque converter.

The car is only at 85K and it looks like the transmission was rebuilt once before he got it at 80K. Maybe a bad rebuild?

The Input Sprag bearing was shredded and the bushing looks terrible. Can I just replace the bearing and the bushing? Is there any other damage I should be looking for because of this?

The forward planet you can so some eaten metal on the edge and 2 gears spin super smooth and the other 2 you have to push pretty hard to get them to turn. So new forward planet?

The shell's corners look a little rounded I wasn't sure how much was to much, can you tell from the picture if it looks like too much?

2002 Ford Escape... My OD light started to come on every once in a while, and would go off once I turned the car off... This being said, as far as I could tell, the tranny was running smooth. Then an engine light popped on and this code and explanation come up... P1744 "Torque Converter Clutch System Stuck in OFF position".

I recently came back from a bit of a trip... and after shutting the car off, it didn't want to restart. Since this time, the car has begun to start, but the engine light remains on with the P1744 coming up...

Research seems to indicate that the problem is with the Torque Converter Solenoid. You Tube videos show that there are two solenoids just under the transmission pan...

Well, I bought a used 2003 Escape for my daughter and without thoroughly researching the airbag light, now have a problem. The light flashes twice, pause, then once, so I think this is error code 21? I cannot find anything on what this code is and how to fix it. I disconnected battery for an hour and now I get 4 flashes, pause, 6 flashes, 46 error.

Girlfriends 04 escape airbag light is blinking code 37. Read something about it being on passenger side what do I look for? I just got done putting in 2 coils, 2 cats, egr, o2 sensor, intake gaskets upper and lower, PCV, injector orings all due to misfire sure there not connected just added info. Other problems include heated seat switch lights for a second then shuts off, and no cruise control. Need to get light off for inspection by end of month....

I picked up a 2001 Escape 2.0 manual with 160K. She runs great but I realized that the airbag light was burned out so I hooked up my scanner and pulled 2 codes C1414 and B1869. I changed the bulb and cleared the B1869 but the C1414 remains. the airbag light also flashes and gives me a 29 code. I am not finding much on the subject. The airbags appear to be there and it does not appear that it has been wrecked. I am guessing that it is the airbag control module. Where the module is located on this vehicle.

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2010 - Wrench Light Come On

Drove about 200miles to see my daughter Saturday in college. Everything was ok I stopped for gas about 10 miles out of town on the highway then picked my daughter up for lunch. After we got back in the Escape and drove a few miles the wrench light come on and I lost power so I slowed and restarted it.

Everything work fine but I looked it up in the book and it said get it to service if this happens but hey it late Saturday and all in small towns were closed! After the college football game at about 9pm we left to go home on the highway just about 3-5 miles out of town it did it again lost power slowed then I restarted it ! Wrench light or power lost never came back on for the next 200 miles home! Could it just have been bad gas doing this or does the wrench light means big problems!

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2001 - Liftgate Intermittently Stays Locked?

I have a 2001 Escape XLT (3.0) and after getting some wonderful info here regarding my upper/lower intake problem, I thought I would ask about my weird liftgate problem. When I first got the Escape a few months ago, the liftgate opened fine, but it wouldn't lock at all. Then one day for no apparent reason, it stays locked no matter what I do. Some days it opens fine, other days it doesn't.

At some point I made a connection between the Window Lock button on the driver control panel being in lock/unlock mode determining if the liftgate would stay locked or not, but it doesn't always do the trick. So now I am at a loss as to what is causing this. Its very inconvenient to have to go over the back seats to load items into the trunk area, and its also a security issue if I cant get the liftgate to lock when I want it to. Is this still a liftgate actuator issue? or is it a wiring or fuse issue?

I bought a used 2005 Elantra a couple years ago for my teenagers. The airbag light came on, so I took it to the dealer. The code they found is B1448. They said they need to replace the passenger side seat cushion module. (I think the value of the whole car can't be much more than that!).

I just picked up my new RX 450h, and I notice that the PCS light on the dashboard stays on. The manual states that it is a malfunction of the PCS system, what the problem could be? Is there a reset button or something?
