The left side light bulb on the overhead reading light console is burned out. How do I remove the lens or open the cover to replace this bulb?
View 3 RepliesI am working with a 2006 Mountaineer Premium with rear heat/ac, sunroof, and Homelink. I need to remove the overhead console to replace burned out map lights. I cannot determine how to remove the console.
The shop manual has instructions for 2 styles of overhead consoles but not the one in this vehicle. Those 2 styles have a sun glass or garage door opener compartment that you open to access some screws.
This console has the map lights at the front, the controls for the rear ac/heat in the middle, and a panel for the sunroof switch and Homelink buttons at the rear. There is no room for a compartment that opens.
I can get the front portion loose by pulling it down off the clips. The back seems to held in by screws. I do not want to apply much force to avoid damaging anything.
How to change out the bulb(s) for the overhead console map lights. The lights that you push on / off. Since the owners manual doesn't cover bulb replacemnet for that.
View 14 RepliesMy 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan's most recent problem has baffled 2 garages so far. It is now in a 3rd one that specializes in auto electric issues. When I turn on the left signal it flashes a few times then the RIGHT side starts to flash. When I turn the right signal on you got it the LEFT side flashes! I installed a new multi function switch and NO CHANGE!

The closest tangential reference I can find is to 194, with additional references to 168 and 912. A Google Image Search of makes it seem like I'm getting warmer.
As far as I can tell, Expeditions, Excursions and Navigators all had this same part in them but for whatever reason it seems like it's next to impossible to find on its own - I don't want to buy a whole overhead console for one part.
Here is what I'm talking about:
I want to replace the lens and buttons, not just the missing button (which is somewhere inside my truck)
Is it Part #5 on this? [URL] ....
I can't find an individual part # - Is it because the overhead console was sold as a whole?
The read out light on my overhead console (the read out that tells the awesome fuel mileage Im getting) isnt working, and hasnt been since I got my excursion a month ago. Thats the only thing on it that doesnt work and was wondering if it could be a bulb, or is this a common problem and if so whats the fix?

View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 Grand Caravan 3.8 engine. For the last 2 months the oil light has been coming on when car is first started. If I stop engine and start again the light will be off. I don't think its actual oil pressure because the car runs fine with light on or off. I'm thinking a bad pressure sensor?
View 17 RepliesSometimes when I start my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.3 liter engine, the oil light comes on and stays on, even if I rev engine up. Engine sounds normal, does not sound like oil pressure is low. If I turn engine off and the immediately back on, light goes out and stays out. I replaced the oil pressure sending unit - didn't work. I hooked up a gauge - engine has 60 psi oil pressure at idle - plenty! I'm guessing an electrical problem in the circuit.
View 4 Replies2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. On the way to work I was trying to accelerate from about 40mph to 50 mph and my van started to jerk a few times and then the check engine light immediately turned on. I only had a few more miles to work and it was fine the rest of the way.

Shifting - its at lowest been in the 30's and the truck has issues shifting until its warm. Its wierd, its like the water temp gauge stays at cold, then snaps up and shifting is fine from then on. Takes what I think is a long time to get there, not a gradual temp change, just like click and the gauge is on.
Lots of electrical looking issues, maybe all tied together?
- Shut doors sometimes flashers blink
- Overhead console no longer lights up
- Door ajar and overhead lights on when doors are tight
- more oddities but I can't think of them now
I decided to replace my interior light bulbs with LED's. I started by swapping out the overhead lights. There is one bulb for the dome light that lights up when the doors are open. That light works fine with the new LED bulb. But the two bulbs for the map lights won't work. When I was installing them my screwdriver touched somethings and made a spark. I figured I blew a fuse but all the fuses under the dash don't appear to be broken.
Why is it that the door ajar dome light works but the two map lights wont turn on? Are they not on the same fuse? Is there a fuse in the fuse box under the hood that I should check? I also noticed that my radio has no power. Fuses looked good. The wiring seems fine. The lights worked before I swapped the LED bulbs in. Tried putting the halogen bulbs back in and they still don't work.
I have an odd issue. I bought my car used from the dealer. The fuel pump was replaced last December, as well as had an oil change. The fuel pump died right after the oil change but are seemingly unrelated since the pump was bad when i bought it. After the pump was replaced my van stated acting up over the next couple days. The fuel gauge would dance randomly. That has since settled down. Now when i make left turns, the rpms drop and i have to pump the had to get it going again or else it completely stalls out in the middle of an intersection. .. it had been steadily getting more frequent and only on left turns. Right turns runs fine.
View 3 RepliesToday I noticed a knocking sound coming from what sounds like the front left (drivers side). When I accelerate and when I brake the sound stops. The sound also stops when I am going around a bend in the road as well as when I change lanes. When I am turning a corner I do not hear the sound.
View 2 RepliesMy turning light needs a bulb replacement (I believe, since when I click to turn right it makes quicker clicking sounds). Does this mean bulb is out or wiring is out?
As for the side light (also on the right) has fallen off and can no longer be screwed back in place as that part has broken off so I will be buying the replacement part/lamp. However, when it fell, the wiring was disconnected so i have lost the bulb and any connection to it. I think I still have the rubber wiring harness, just missing the wiring & bulb.
I have checked the fuses, Checked the relays, Checked for pinched wires and checked for a loose connection at the fuse box, Both power mirrors and the overhead console lights do not work, Power windows work fine, Manual seats .
View 1 Repliesok so my passenger side headlight wont turn on installed new bulb still wont turn on. I pulled the wiring schematic and on the connector i have a h13 bulb with 3 pins for high and low beams. i have voltage when the low beans are on one wire WHT/TAN 10.9 volts (car off) and WHT/GRY is 10.99 volts (car off) the center connector is the ground, when i check the other side that is full functioning i get WHT/DR BLU 11.8 volts and WHT/ LT GRN 11.0 volts when i have the HIGH BEAMS ON THE RIGHT SIDE wires WHT/TAN IS 10.9 volts and wire WHT/GREY is 11.68 volts AND THE LIGHT IS WORKING
SO MY QUESTIONS ARE'* should i have voltage on the connector of the high beam when the high beams are not on
*what would cause the wht/gry wire to be 10.99 volts when it should be 11.8 volts
* how should i fix this could i run a parallel circuit off of the wiring on the fully functioning driver side headlight
I have a '09 Dodge caravan. The ABS, ESP, TCS, and Brake lights are on. As we drive along the brakes apply, probably on only wheel. After we stop, we can drive on for a short way and it happens again. A mechanic told us that the steering sensor was telling the computer that the steering wheel was turned all the way to the left. I wonder if I pulled the fuse for the ABS pump and ABS valve if it would be safe to drive, at least until we can get it to the dealer for repair. I am cheap and like to get by as cheaply as I can/. I am not fond of ABS, or TCS any way?
