Chevrolet - Tahoe :: Extremely Shaky Wheel And Feels Like Front Of Vehicle Is Just Rattling

I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe 4WD 5.7L 2 door. I recently had both my upper and lower ball joints replaced along with an alignment. Recently, I noticed I have an extremely shaky wheel and it feels like the front of the vehicle is just rattling. I never had this problem in the past. It seems to do it going between 30-55 mph. Also, on back country roads where they are bumpy. Never happens on the highway.

This service light came on 2 weeks ago. The next day, the car seemed to be trying to switch from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive. Took it to the dealer who found nothing. We drove the car for 2 days without any service lights coming on. Then the switching ( 2 to 4 WD) started again, but this time the transmission would not go above 1st gear. Pulled over and turned off the engine, then tried to restart it. Nothing. Dead. A few minutes later, we go it back home. Had CAA tow it back to the dealer. It's been a week and they found nothing. They are looking for engine codes that would explain the problem.
Is this an electrical problem or a sensor issue?

My 2004 f150 xlt has been extremely shaky after exceeding 60 mph thus was a slight problem that has been getting worst it's shaking so hard I feel like the mirror is gonna fall of. What could this be?

Our 2007 Chevy Tahoe 4 X 4 recently displayed a "Service Four Wheel Drive" panel light a couple of days ago (upon ignition on a sunny, dry day). The light had been steady which, when we read the owners manual, indicates a problem but no immediate service required. One of the possible solutions was to remove and close the gas cap in case it had been incorrectly closed during the last gas-up. That did not work. Yesterday, during a snow storm, I tried using the 4WD. The dial would move to the different settings, but no 4WD activated and no light illuminated indicating which gear it was in (2WD, Auto, 4H, 4L). We checked the fuse for the 4WD but it is OK.

So today while driving, on pavement, I noticed a low humming coming from my right front tire, looked under the car, everything looked fine, the boot ect. The hum starts at about 25mph and speeds up consistently w/ my driving speed. The truck itself is riding just fine, normal, no issues, but the humming almost seems to have gotten more noticeable throughout today. What could it be? How do I go about diagnosing it?

I have an '04 chevy tahoe, only 70k. Very recently the front end of the car has started to shutter while driving. This happens when I am going generally above 45mph- more so going up a hill. It feels a little bit like I am driving over unevenness/ripples in the road- even when it's smooth flat pavement. When I take my foot off the accelerator and just coast the vibration stops. I got new tires put on front so it is not a wheel balance issue. The car does not pull left or right either like out of alignment. And the engine rmp's do not fluctuate/strain when the shuttering starts.

I have a slight leak at the front differential and drive shaft. It is nothing major and I don't even notice a oil slick under the truck when it sits for a longer period of time.

I have a 2004 Z71 Chevy Tahoe with 192,000 miles that runs great. The issue I have though is the electrical system is going haywire (no pun intended). The front A/C and heater stopped responding to the level knob, therefore doesn’t blow, the dash lights will periodically dim and go off, the horn doesn't work when I want it to, and the A/C would sometimes blow warm air when it did work. The A/C used to work on all levels of the dial, and then over time, level by level, they stopped working; however, the back blower works well on both A/C and heater, which is operated by the overhead control knob. I open the front vents to allow outside air in, rather than recirculated air, and the air coming out of the vents is A/C air, but it only blows when I'm driving of course.

This morning when trying to leave for work, my prius refused to turn on. When you press the brake so you can press the start button, the brake feels extremely hard, almost like it doesn't want you to press it. The light on the start button becomes orange after a pressing the button once. And on the dashboard screen (I don't know what call it on a Prius) in the very bottom right corner, a red notifications light flashes very quickly, so quickly that is hard to tell what it is, but by staring at it for like 30 seconds it looks like the symbol of a car with a lock attached to it. I may be wrong though. My Prius v is a 2012 model, trim three, and it has a little over 60,000 miles on it. I also have a prepaid maintenance through the dealership. I don't even know where to start.

Had the shaky steering wheel @ 50-65 MPH. I remember this happened to my other car after the brakes were inspected. The tech put the rim on without cross tightening the lug nuts.
Anyway I took off the wheel and noticed the brake rotor was not lined up with lug bolts. In other words the bolts were not centered on the holes of the brake rotor. So I broke the rotor free and lined up the holes. Put the wheel back on and now no shakes at 50MPH. I do get just a little of shake on braking at high speed but thats all.
I think the rotor can get stuck on the edge of the bore and not able to seat firmly on the spindle.

Just threw some steelies on my car for winter mode. I was told they were in balance but I'm having a weird issue.
Steering wheel shakes when you approach 60+, but with varying severity. It will shake hard one minute, and then soft the next.
I also found that stepping on the gas makes it shake, and letting off the gas (coasting down) makes it stop.
Is this an issue with the wheels, or something in my drivetrain. I never really noticed it with the RC's.

I just bought my 06 Sonata 3 weeks ago with 124k. Nice car. I just can't get rid of the vibration that starts right around 60-65 mph. Just had new inner and outer tie rod ends on driver side replaced and then took it back and they rebalanced the wheels. Still shook on the drive home.

This summer I replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends on a 97 Nissan Altima, had a bent wheel replaced, and had an alignment done. Everything worked smoothly for the last 5,000 or so miles. I had my tires rotated and balanced recently which created a new problem, a shaky steering wheel most noticeable at slow speeds. I've had a similar problem before and had it fixed by balancing the tires. I took it back in to have them rebalanced, thinking they may have forgotten to do it the first time. They rebalanced them and the problem has not changed at all.

I have a 99 Chevy Tahoe that the transmission keeps going out in. I've replaced the torque converter, cooler lines, computer. I've even added an additional cooler on the truck and it keeps burning three the transmissions.

I have a 1999 Toyota Sienna. For the last year or more, at times -- especially when going over small bumps -- there's a rattling sound that sounds like it's coming from the left front wheel. The steering is tight and there's no vibration in the steering wheel itself. My mechanic checked everything -- including the brakes (and the caliper pins). I am not eager to replace the struts on the hunch this might be the cause, because it might not be, and that's expensive, especially on an old car which we don't drive much.

My brother's truck is a 1997 , 5.7 L gas engine, fuel injected. 100k+ miles.
New plugs, wires, new rotor, coolant temp sensor & air filter & recent battery.
Started a few times after the new air filter & some dry gas & fuel injector cleaner & that was the last time it started.
Turns over but will not run! He needs this truck to tow a trailer to R/C boat shows (he makes parts for R/C racing boats).

I have a 97 Tahoe that I love! The problem is that, every once in awhile, it simply won't start. Won't start, won't crank, won't do anything. I turn the key and nothing happens, similar to having the truck in gear and trying to start it. The REALLY frustrating thing is, when I take it to the mechanic, they can never recreate the problem. This last time, the mechanic had it for a couple of weeks, couldn't ever get it to not start. I had it for a week, and it stranded me an hour and a half from home.

My wife has a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe with abut 100K. She did something and doesn't know what but now the car beeps anytime you put it in reverse. No big deal, it's just annoying. I've checked the book and can't find out to disable. How to disable this on a tahoe or know what to look for in the owner's manual.
