94 Blazer 5.7 liter ... Headlights won't come on... They flickered then went off completely. Check EGR light comes on occasionally. Lower 30 amp breaker on fusebox is extremely hot. All other lights work.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2000 Chevy Blazer with about 180,000 miles on it. It has been running fine, then a few weeks ago we got gas at a small little station we had never been to. The day after it started cutting out. We took it to the shop and they put a new catalytic converter on it. They said it also needed a new water pump and something with oil seals, so we went ahead and did that. It drove fine for a while, then the next time we filled up with gas it started cutting out and completely died. They put a new fuel filter, spark plugs and wires and distributor cap, basically gave it a good tune up. It's been driving fine. We filled it up and with in a few miles it start stuttering. At the stop light it rattled but kept going. drove it another 3 miles and it stuttered again. We are out of money and at our wits end!
View 4 RepliesBeen doing a lot of repair's on our 1994 Chevy blazer. It's a 4.3 v6. We finally got her running and now it seems like it can't take high speeds for very long without over heating and eventually smoking some. Had to bypass heater core, it's clogged. That worked with temp. Also replaced radiator and cap. Replaced both heads, took thermostat out. That worked with temp too. It has a new water pump, new exhaust manifolds, has good spark plugs, oil changed and oil filter. Kind of at a loss.
View 16 RepliesI have a 2000 S10 Chevy blazer .One day I was at a stop sign when the truck went completely dead , I had no power . I walked home , I came back a little later and figure I would give it a try well it started so I brought it home .. from then on it would start up some days and other times it would just crank but not start .After keeping it my garage for over a year , the other day I charged the battery and try to start the truck , it kicked right over and I let it run for awhile . I turned it off and restarted it again let it run for awhile . Yesterday I went up to start it again and nothing ,so I gave up , today it was the same thing it would just crank but not start . I know its not a fuel issue , and I don't think its an ignition problem ..

View 2 RepliesI have a 94 chevy blazer. I purchased it not running. I replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter and plugs. The car ran fine for a couple of weeks. Then it started choking out after putting into drive. i tried to give it gas while shifting and it still died. I replaced the fuel regulator, dist. cap, fuel filter again, and the ECM. It now chokes out while in park. What am I missing?

View 2 RepliesI have a 1994 Chevy Blazer 4 wheel drive with about 130,000 miles. The instrument panel and radio all quit at the same time. I pounded on the dash and they came back on for a while. I did this a couple of times over a couple of days when they went out and it worked, now it doesn't they wont work. What should I check first, is this going to be a complex repair requiring the instrument panel to be removed and replaced?

View 4 RepliesI will start out with a little history of the situation. A little over three months ago my original altenator died with over 200,000 miles on it. I took it in and had it replaced (they used a refurbished altenator) and about a 1-1/2 months later is when the issue started. The headlights and dash lights will flicker and whenever they dim, the volt gauge will go down.
When the lights come back to normal brightness the volt guage will also go back to normal. All this will go on for random lengths of time as I am driving. I took the vehicle back to where I had the altenator replaced and they replaced it again under warranty. About another 1-1/2 months went by and the same thing started happening. I took it back to the same garage and this time they put in a brand new altenator. Finally about a week after this last visit to the garage the symptoms came back.
I am having problem with the battery light coming on headlights on when switch is off the fuel gauge dancing up and down radio works intermittently that's when I start the van it will only run a few miles and the battery will go completely flat I have changed the starter do not believe it is the alternator as there to many electrical problems thinking that a short somewhere. Where to start and what to look at .....

View 1 Replies I was driving home just a few minutes ago when my headlights flickered and then cut out for a few seconds. They came back on, but I hadn't driven another 1/2 mile when they flickered again and went off for a further few seconds. This was repeated once more about a mile later, though when I pulled over (first time I was able to do so), they stayed off til after I restarted the car and banged on the dashboard.
Further symptoms: running lights, brake lights, and tail lights seem unaffected. Turning the switch for the headlights off and back on does not affect the issue.
The back gate of my blazer won't open, nor will my window close. It seems like the lock won't unlock. But Other than that, I'm stumped.
View 6 RepliesI have a 1994 chev Blazer S 10. that has thesy troubles. when it warms up it runs high and hot exhaust and ruff idle. with a hot cat. Replaced EGR carbon build up at times.replaced fuel pump, and all the senors under the hood. Still runs the same.

View 3 RepliesOur 2000 blazer LT 4.3L 4 door 4wd has 190,000 km (about 115,000 miles). 3 Button dash control. Transmission was rebuilt at 100,000 miles (main troque converter spline was shot). The 4 wd will not engage in either hi or lo.
Whether moving or not, press 4 wd lo, light stays on. but nothing happens. I cannot hear the transfer case engaging.
Had a previous problem, (withflashing light): found the vacuum hose under battery case was worn through.
I do have a service engine light on the dash. This may be unrelated, because 4wd stopped working long before service engine light came on. I have changed the Oxygen sensor, but no reset the fault yet. Where to start.
2002 Chev trailblazer, I have had the throttle body cleaned.... Sometimes after short stops, my vehicle will not crank, some times I have to step on the gas several times and it will finally crank, it sets no codes, no check engine lights come on. If it sits overnight, or for more than 20 minutes it cranks right up.
View 3 RepliesMy wife's 2009 Toyota Corolla is possessed and it's gotten her so frustrated she brought home a new puppy two days ago.
Over the last two weeks we've noticed a handful of times, after we've turned off the car and left it (with the interior headlight control in the off position) that we'd go out to the garage only to find the car's headlights on. (Keep in mind, it has a sensor that will automatically activate the headlights in dim light but this only is supposed to happen when the car is on.) It began having issues starting and yesterday it wouldn't turn over. Yet, when turning the ignition, it made a sound different than I've heard on the car when it has a dying/dead battery. Before calling the tow truck, I tried jumping it. The car did turn over -- and the headlights immediately came on (might have been the sensor in the dark garage, but they come on almost immediately rather than after a brief delay). Yet it died quickly after and wouldn't start again. My neighbor, however, smelled gas and suggested the engine might be flooded.
The car was towed to my mechanic -- who's a good guy. He just called and said the car turned on for him without a problem and he can't find anything despite running a battery of tests. He said he just doesn't want to swap stuff out without knowing there's an issue.
So, what could possibly be causing the car's headlights to go on when the car is completely turned off and the internal knob for the headlights is also in the off position? And could it be related to the car not turning over -- or did my wife flood the car when she tried to turn it over yesterday morning, creating a wholly separate issue?
Why will the 96 Blazer not start in the rain? Replaced almost all electric components from key cylinder to plugs. It is grounded somewhere when wet.
View 3 RepliesI got my blazer look at and here what they come up with so far. Transmission fluid is discolored. Transmission shifts late between 3rd and 4th at 52 mph. Transmission slips between 2nd and 3rd gears at 32 mph. Lock up 41-43 mph in and out. I never told them this but I change the transmission fluid about a week before i took it there and when I check the fluid it was nice and clean and not burned like he said it was. He said most likely it internal damage.for them to take a look in side to see what is wrong with cost me 400.00 and I said no.
