I found oil leaking out of my audi (model above) this morning. it runs great, but is leaving a small puddle every time I park. I looked underneath and there is oil collected in many places. Its not pouring but slow drip when the engine is hot. More to the front of the car. Its not happening at the washer to the crank to drain oil.
View 11 RepliesI have a 1998 f150 xlt, supercab, 4x4, 4.6 Romeo (truck production date is 12/97). And I have a oil leak.
Its on the drivers side of the engine. There is a nipple on the head, next to the firewall, directly above where the exhaust pipe and exhaust manifold meet. It looks to have some sort of bolt/flush stud inside the nipple. I have oil seeping by the bolt/stud and leaking onto my exhaust pipe. its a constant but slow drip.
What this is or how to fix it? Is this a common problem? I can take a pic but cant find my camera at the moment.
2011 250 CC FX4 LARIAT 6.7l Just had the oil changed on Friday and I noticed a couple oily spots in the driveway. Crawled under to investigate and there is a slow drip coming off the plastic oil plug. Called the service center and they said the seals on those plugs fail pretty regular. What was done to eliminate this issue?
View 9 Repliesmy audi tt 2003 convertible turbo has had trouble starting. the engine turns over just fine and up untill now it has caught, albeit a little slow. now I note that it still catches, about every 3rd try, but unlike before it isn't staying on no matter how much I try to rev the engine. We just had the spark plugs and 2 coils replaced. There's a coolant leak through the sensor housing (we have the part for that but hubby doesn't want to fix it) but we do keep coolant at sufficient levels. problem seems to get worse on colder mornings, but is not affected by cold in the evening. Yes, the check engine light is on. The codes have been read and it's coming up as the temp sensor (which part we purchased, but hubby doesn't want to install).
View 3 RepliesNeed to identify possible oil leak location. Went through 6 quarts of oil in a couple months. Moderate oil drip on the driveway. Ford dealership said the leak was definitely from one of the high pressure oil hoses but that didn't fix the entire problem. Took it back to the dealership and they diagnosed the problem as "LH HP Oil A Head Leaking Replaced" installed a new elbow fitting. Still leaking.... They are trying to be conservative in their approach however the leak is starting to become an irritant Just want the problem solved. Any probabilities where the oil leak could be coming from?

It is still a drip, but is getting worse, for several weeks. May be power steering fluid. I have not found the source. I think it is after the truck has run and has fluids operating under pressure.
View 14 RepliesI have a very slow fuel drip off the housing for the fuel filter on the engine. Can't see where it's coming from. It started sometime after I changed the filter a couple of months ago.
View 5 RepliesMy mother's 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee (60 k miles!) has developed an annoying slow drip at the rear main bearing (6 cyl). Are there any additives that are safe and might slow this? She just had the oil changed, so it's not a good time to be talking about high-mileage oil.
View 9 RepliesAudi 99 a6 quattro. Motor turns, battery is fine. Engine does not ignite. Spark happens but the engine does not hold. After 5 mins car starts. Once its warm no problem starting. Cold start is the issue. what do you think is issue? fuel injection, fuel pump???. I have seen the car stall on second gear sometimes on high throttle, reduce throttle it will come back on. I am suspecting some issue with fuel injection????

There was a weak rubber plug that I yanked out and all of a sudden, about half a gallon of a water like substance poured out. It appears that the spare tire compartment was full of water. What could of caused this???
View 5 RepliesSo i noticed i am leaking oil, not much but enought that i will have to top it up before the next oil change. The drip comes from the drain bolt, and drips off the bottom of the oil pan right under it. I have replaced the bolt and it still continues to leak. What could be the cause of this?

Why?? Or what I need to do? Its being done at the dealership....
View 2 RepliesI have a 2009 GS 350 AWD and this is my first issue I have had with my sunroof. It was raining this morning and we noticed that both rear corners of the sunroof have a steady drip leak. I opened and closed the glass as I figured it was a positioning issue but the leaks remain. I know there are drains but my guess is that the drains will not work fast enough for the water to drain (there is no other leaking and it is not leaking into the headliner yet).

Noticed a coolant leak a week ago, refilled with coolant, and as of today the coolant warning has not come back, so whatever it is must be a very slow leak. Today I took the opportunity with the unseasonable warmth in Chicagoland to investigate.
Got the T-reg up on jacks and belly pan removed, ran the engine while inspecting the bay, didn't see anything.
After I shut the engine off, however, I noticed a small but somewhat steady dripping coming from roughly the middle of the front of the engine block.
Pulled the plastic cover off one of the pulleys, part # reads: 022 121 341. I couldn't find a match anywhere online, but I got tons of results for 022 121 011, which is the water pump.
I have a 2004 Touareg V8 (55K miles). Recently I've noted significant rain drippage from the overhead console (sunroof equipped). I've reviewed this forum and note some previous communications regarding similar leakage, which apparently was attributable to poor seals between the outer skin and the sunroof structure (and there has been a TSB released for cars under New Car Warranty).
Is there a system of drains that are accessible (as in my 2000 Jetta, which drains through channels in the door posts) which could become clogged, and which I could unclog (as in my Jetta), before I spend the money and hassle of taking my Touareg to the dealer/service person?
I have an 09 screw, 4.6 3v, 3.55, 2wd. Last week, I noticed on the driveway a drip and run stain under the truck. I dismissed it as ac runoff. But it remained and lengthened. I got under it yesterday, and the tranny crossmember has fluid on it. I can't pinpoint where it is coming from. There was no drip either, and the truck was relatively cool. Of course there is no tranny fluid dipstick to check and the tranny pan is intact. It seems to be behind the transmission towards the driveshaft.
View 14 RepliesWe began to have an issue today with our 2010 Elantra. While driving, the Check Engine, Check Coolant and EPS lights all came on. The engine then would not speed up but run slow. The tachometer stopped working.
It was coming into our neighborhood, so we got it to our house. After checking around under the hood (fluid levels, etc.), all looked good. Then we noticed that the mats and carpet are wet up under the dashboard on both the driver and passenger sides. When I reached up into the dashboard over the wet areas, I feel water all along the wiring, etc.
I am guessing that water has leaked in somewhere, maybe after the rain storm last night. We have had the car two years and less than 15K miles. Why and where water would be coming in?
Our 1997 Grand Caravan with 170K loses more air conditioning every year. So, I assume I have a slow leak. Is recharging something I can do myself with the new type cans offered by auto parts stores? Also, I think the radiator fan no longer comes on, I never hear it and the engine temp will go up when driving slowly around town.
View 1 RepliesI have approximately 66,000 miles on my 2013 F250 truck and noticed a small drip from the front drivers side around 40,000 miles. That random drip is now a leak and the truck will be going into the shop to replace the Primary Radiator.
I absolutely love this truck, but what a disappointment that this isn't a recall. What scares me is that my buddy who has a 2014 F250 will be going in for his second primary radiator in 3 years of ownership.
I have a 2002 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro with a frustrating problem! There is a leak in the car causing the rear right floorboard to fill with water. I had it into the dealer in Oct. 2010 where they replaced the rear right window channels & seals & found the plenum drains & sunroof drainage to be ok, no blockage. I also had to replace the transmission module as it was filled with water from the leak! I have had problems with the rotation rate sensor & oxy sensor to the point of the ESP kicking on the anti-lock brakes at 60 mph, and have replace both of these sensors, thinking that was probably related to this leak also. I was vacuuming out the car today and found the floorboard to be wet AGAIN! The dealer just keeps the car for weeks trying to find this leak..
