View 14 RepliesMy 99 250 XL only has heat, and the blowthru vent air which in Florida, might as well be heat also. LOL.
Since the vents and everything is there, what all and how hard would It be? I have an extra dash control that I can put since mine doesn't have the ac option on it
Or, do the settings allow for a total a/c off or is there always some a/c assist ?
View 1 RepliesI just bought 2012 Prius Model 4 with the solar package and upgraded Nav. Love the car. I have a problem with the contacts in the phonebook. My iPhone has over 2000 contacts from work. Can't and don't want to load them all. I can't figure out how to load or create a contact without using my bluetooth phone.
View 1 RepliesPage 285 of the 2010 Prius Owner Manual states:
"Remote Air Conditioning System" =if equipped
The Remote Air Conditioning System uses electrical energy stored in the hybrid battery (traction battery) and allows the air conditioning to be operated by remote control. My remote controls have this button, but nothing happens when I press them for a couple seconds.
When I put my hand on the driver's door handle to open the door, a series of 10 beeps with the flashing exterior lights occurs. Door won't open. Must use metal key in fob. On exit, touch handle on outside (above/below pinch) results in nothing, or a stuttered double clicking sound. Door not locked and metal key from fob used to lock door. SKS works sometimes, but I never know if or when I'm going to need the metal key. Battery fresh. When wireless button to unlock/lock is used, it sometimes works, sometimes does not.Door no longer automatically locks after period of time. I can forget to lock and come back hours later and still unlocked.
I've tried the spare fob. Same result. I've left cell phone in house. Same problems. I've tried turning away from the door so the fob is not as close. Same problems. Cleaned door handle. No change.
I've been wanting to get a wireless Qi charger for my Samsung Galaxy S5 and have thought of a few options:
1. Have somebody custom wire a Micro USB into my glove box.
2. Put it into my center console (no custom install needed).
What about the phone moving around when the car is in motion? Other pros and cons?
Sometimes when the wife and I go out to dinner she wants to leave her purse in the back with the cover pulled. She keeps her set of keys in her purse so with the wireless keys I can't lock the car because the car knows there is a key inside.
View 2 RepliesIt happened almost a week ago and had plenty of time to dry out. I heard that the keys will usually come back to life but unfortunately mine did not. Tried changing the battery too. No luck. The key still works in the door. It's an annoyance not being able to open the trunk or lock/open all doors remotely.
Are there any alternative ways to do this cheaper that I'm overlooking? There are wireless keys on ebay that can be bought. But is there a way to get them programmed other than going to the VW dealer and getting fleeced?
Several times my 6 month old Prius v Three refuses to start. I've taken it to the dealer 5 times now for an array of electrical issues. I was told the keyfob wireless signal isn't reaching the Power pushbutton on the dashboard & to not ever put the keyfob near my cell phone & to put the keyfob as close to the Power pushbutton as possible.
View 1 RepliesMy Airlift wireless will not inflate my airbags-compressor does not run. It was working - only used it once since it was installed 2 months ago. Tried it this week- no joy. I get the error BL OC,(bloc) then sometimes FA IL. I called Airlift Friday and the tech said it sound like compressor might be bad so I should get 12 volts to the compressor and see if it runs. I did that and compressor runs fine. I also checked to be sure I have 12 volts going into the wire loom and I do.
When I try to inflate the using wireless controller, the manifold clicks but there is no voltage going to the compressor. Sounds like there is a breakdown within or between the receiver and/or manifold. I do see the wireless controller sending a signal but nothing happens except on click in the manifold. I guess I will have to wait until Monday to call again. It frustrating since it's Saturday when I am able to work on it but can't get tech support.
Today the engine light was on and vsc was blinking so i took off the battery wire for two mins and put it back the engine light went off and vsc stopped blinking. So my question is should i leave vsc option on or off??
View 1 RepliesAny option to add a second set of TPMS?
I removed my stock 19" wheels and replaced with 20" from my '14 IS350.
I know I can get the 20" sensors reprogrammed onto the car but not sure if there is only 1 setting available.
I recently had a new TPM Module installed by the Dealer. Today before loading one of my 19" Summer Wheel/Tire with a TPM sensor into the back, I went into the menu to turn off the TPM system, and there is no option to turn it off.
So I loaded the wheel/tire into the back, and took my chances in getting an error message in the MFI. But to my surprise, I did not get any error messages.
What gives? Can I get the option back in the MFI with a Vag, or does the new module just not have the "off: option? And why didn't I get an error message with a fifth wheel/tire with a TPM sensor laded in the Treg?
Any technical difference between turning the ECO diplay "on" or "off" when setting display options? I know when "off", the ECO sign does not show but does it also mean the car runs differently? Is this just a way to avoid having that thing show up?
View 10 RepliesMy wife and I recently purchased a 2014 prius c 4 here in Alberta. We have quickly realized that there is no remote starter option. How does one warm there car up and keep the doors locked on a smartkey system? Not comfortable leaving a car running unlocked. Vehicle is parked outside with plugin.
View 19 RepliesJust exploring on my touch screen, while under Setup and then under Vehicle you have the DRL option of {on or off }. But I don't see any difference with I select either one. Even if I switch on my DRL or headlights I see no change when I select on or off. What does it change?? I'm also not finding an answer in the owners manual. On my headlight switch I have these options... Off - DRL - Parking lights - Head lights> All my other Prius friends have an auto headlight that I somehow missed out on ....
View 7 RepliesRecently had battery changed and now when I go to turn on my air and push climate it says access to air conditioning temporarily not possible.
View 7 RepliesI need to enable the "always on" headlight option. I know it's called Daytime Running Lights (or DRL) but I'm looking for a quick, easy, cheap, DIY solution (meaning if I can avoid installed a DRL kit).
Details: Imported car from US to Canada (2004 Elantra). Many/most US cars don't have DRL since it's not required by law. Canada law requires it. So I have to get it inspected and they will check if headlights are on even if light selector is at "OFF".
That's all I want. If it can be done by a rewiring or reconnection or putting fuse in, I'd rather do that than purchase some DRL kit, or take it to mechanic, or, heaven forbid, a dealership.
I picked up my new 2016 Forester Limited the other day. I let my 6'2" tall son drive it part way home, and immediately he noticed that with the driver's seat bottomed out and the rearview mirror tilted as far up as it would go, he could still only see out the bottom two thirds of the back window. My Forester does have the mirror package option, but not sure if that changes anything.
View 7 RepliesI am currently trying to decide between the 2015 Impreza Sport sedan and the 2015 Impreza Sport sedan with the technology option (eye sight, push button start, etc.)
