I think I have a bad socket on my taillight/brakelight on my driver side. Passenger side works fine. Bulbs are not the issue. All other lights functioning. Found a bad 7.5amp fuse on driver side fuse panel. Replaced and still, no taillight.
Any other fuse or cause for the driver side tail light only to stop functioning?
The brake light on the driver side doesn't work. The center window brake light works as does the passenger's side brake light. My first thought was the bulb, but when I just have my tail lights on it works just fine. From what I can tell it's obviously the same blub so I don't know where to go from here. The fuse that controls the brake light also controls all of the brake lights so I don't think that would be it since only one side is out. Trying to avoid going to the dealership if I can.
View 7 RepliesI'm driving a 2010 Hyundai Sonata and just recently one of my brake lights has been acting up. Everything works perfectly fine as long as the head lights are off; however with the head lights on, when I depress the brake pedal my driver's side tail/brake light goes out. The center brake light and passenger side brake light work just fine regardless of the head lights being on or off. With the headlights off, all the brake lights operate normally when the pedal is depressed.
View 6 RepliesI have a 1995 Chevy k1500 Silverado Z71, I am having problems with my tail lights where when my headlights are on and I hit the breaks the driver side tail light completely turns off, if I use the left blinker it blinks very fast up till I hit the breaks. When my headlights are off they still don't work properly but legal enough, the left blinker blinks in between fast and slow and when I use the brakes the left side works but very dim, the wiring is all original never tampered with, all I did was put aftermarket tail light covers on it which shouldn't affect anything. The problem usually comes and goes but this last time it lasted for 2 months and now everything works perfect, the problem will be back and I'm afraid I'll run out of luck and a cop will finally notice it.
View 5 RepliesI am in the middle of doing some investigative work for autokey and upon taking apart the Hatch Door rear tail light assembly, I noticed a spot where a bulb should go is empty (on both the driver and passenger sides, same spot).
Now, I am 99% sure these lights are SUPPOSED to be omitted, as the spot where a bulb would protrude into the actual tail light assembly outlined above has a metallic dome over it to keep it sealed. Just wondering why there would even be a socket available for a light? Is it part of a European package we don't get in the States?
I just noticed on another post ( the guy with the long list from his 2010 ) that he had moisture in the drivers side tail light, I have the same thing.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2011 Jetta TDI and the drivers side tail light on the trunk is out. I opened the trunk and popped the cover off the rear of the tail light and it seems the connector is loose. I tried for about 10 or so minutes to get it back into place but I couldn't. I don't know if the connector is broken or if my hands are just too large to fit into the area. I plan on taking it back to the dealership to get them to fix it. I just picked up the car. Is this a sign of wiring issues or just someone at the factory jamming a connector into a hole so they could move on a couple of seconds faster?

Anyways now I have this condensation....I have the dark cherry red non led.... I have the JL stealthbox installed... Never happened before had the car about a year now?

View 19 RepliesWe had the passenger side brake light not working in our 2002 S60. I moved the little silver tab at the socket w/ a screwdriver and it worked, but then hit the plate and both brake lights went out. Checked fuse, bulbs and swapped relay and shunt w/ out any luck. I hear a click at the relay when we use the brakes-am I missing something? Also, did the same w/ taillights and it blew a fuse, replaced and then they worked.

The driver side brake light, goes out when brake pressure is applied, but is on when lights are fully on, but even then brake pressure is applied and goes out. Right brake light is fine. And turn signal on right works. But driver side back light goes out when brake pressure is put on and when turn signal is put for left side. Right makes a turn noise left side doesn't. I recently replaced the turn signal switch. So its brand new. But older wires every where else. No cuts anywhere on wires. Fine. And replaced the bulb also.

View 3 RepliesChecking out my 2007 gasser this weekend an found that my third brake light does not work....no power to the socket. The cargo lights on either side of it in the same assembly work fine so I believe the ground to be intact. My question is does this light have it's own fuse? if not where should I start looking for the solution to my problem?
View 1 RepliesMy mother owns a 2004 Toyota Prius, we got the car couple of months ago, and noticed the brake light was out, on the drivers side. Little did we know that it was a hard thing to actually replace, and we didn't bother giving much care to it since we thought it was a regular $15 bulb you just pop onto the tail light.
It turns out, the top part of the brake light attached to the remainder of the tail light does not turn on, while the center and passenger side of the brake lights turn on. It is black colored/tinted, and my guess is this is an LED.
I drive an 05 Prius the drives side LED part of the light is dim. I went to the dealer and they told me I had to buy the hole light assembly. Is this true?

View 5 RepliesMy driver side brake light is not working. I noticed it yesterday after changing my front brake pads. The bulb won't light up. I changed the bulb and didn't fix it. I checked fuses and all were good. The running light and turn signal both work on the tail light and the passenger tail light is fine and everything works on it. A couple hours after I noticed the driver side tail brake light wasn't working the hatch brake light went out. Not sure if it was just bad timing for the bulb to go out or not. I think I may just need to get a new wire harness for it. Not sure.

What should I check on the truck to solve this problem. Would it be between where the bulb snaps in and where the plug for the lights plug into the truck under the bed or should I check something else?
View 5 RepliesI have access to the fuse panel but I need to remove the panel to reach the relays. I need to change the socket in the relay panel because one is burnt out. I change the K(headlight)relay and when my car is off and key out of the ignition my lights are still on.
