driver side headlight doesn't work on my 2000 volvo s40. mechanic says its not getting power and the computer chip needs to be replaced. How to fix it without replacing computer chip.
View 1 RepliesI have been having intermittent issues with the driver's side headlight. It will randomly fail for no reason while driving. This can often be remedied by turning the lights off and then back on again. The headlight will also fail not-so-randomly. Two triggers are driving on a bumpy road (we never get potholes in the winter in Ohio), and - here could be the clue to the problem - when I make sharp left-hand turns (90 degrees). What could cause the headlight to fail by making a left turn? The ballast has already been replaced once under warranty (which has since lapsed), and the dealer has wanted to replace the bulb since the xenon bulbs are quite expensive, and may not actually be the cause of the problem.
View 1 RepliesOn Tuesday I discovered that my drivers side headlight wasn't working, so I bought a light-bulb and went to replace the light. It turns none of the wires are still attached to the light holder and so the light is obviously not attached to the car. Is it likely that they all broke off at once or that someone cut them? (I have some nasty neighbors). Is it going to be really expensive to get this fixed? Can I buy the part that attaches to the light-bulb that has the wires attached and attach the wires to the car myself? If so, what is the part called so that I can order it?
View 6 RepliesSo sometimes my front drivers headlight and drivers taillight decides not to work. Sometimes one will work and the other wont and other times they all will be working fine. I've checked the fuses and the bulbs and they both are fine.

View 1 RepliesMy driverside headlight randomly stopped working last night after i came out from a restaurant. the driverside was off the most of the ride home until it flickered on. now it randomly will only turn on for a split second then shut off.
i recently had my headlight / front bumper replaced and i was wondering what could cause this? normally if it was hid instead of led i would say its a weak ballast or so but i do not know how the LED headlights work. also the car is too new to have a weak ballast.
i do not believe its a fuse because the headlight will not turn on at all if it was a fuse. i also checked the box and all the fuses look intact.
So about a 2 weeks ago my drivers side headlight went out. I figured it was the bulb (even though I had just replaced them about a month prior). Got new bulbs and nothing. I checked the fuse and it was not blown. I made sure the electrical connections to the bulb weren't dirty and were connected properly.
Then last night my passenger low beam went out. I had changed the bulb when the other side went out 2 weeks ago. Its still brand new and not blown. I did the same thing, the fuse is not blown and the electrical connectors are clean and secure.
I just took my car into the dealer about a week before the driver's light went out and did their "Major Service". They did tell me that I would need to replace my battery soon. Could this be the cause?
I drive a 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.4L
My driver side low beam is not working. I checked the bulb and it's fine. I also checked the fuse and it's fine. Took it to the dealer and they said could be a few hours of labour to determine where the problem is in the wiring.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2000 Ex V10 with 170,000 miles and the passenger side headlight stopped working. I changed out the bulb and when that didn't fix it, I changed out the harness.
The driver side headlight works fine as well as all of the other lights. What to look at next.
Truck was sitting for a month, now drivers side power window has quit working. tried switching circuit breaker. can hear clicking sound in switch and lights dim but the window will not roll down. All other electrical is working fine.
View 14 RepliesMy driver side brake light is not working. I noticed it yesterday after changing my front brake pads. The bulb won't light up. I changed the bulb and didn't fix it. I checked fuses and all were good. The running light and turn signal both work on the tail light and the passenger tail light is fine and everything works on it. A couple hours after I noticed the driver side tail brake light wasn't working the hatch brake light went out. Not sure if it was just bad timing for the bulb to go out or not. I think I may just need to get a new wire harness for it. Not sure.

View 6 RepliesMy 2006 Prius (Model NHW20) has a strange headlight problem. On the passenger side, the high beam light is out but the regular headlight works.
On the driver side, the high beam is working but the regular headlight is out.
I don't think it's the fuses but I'm not sure. No amount of interchanging the following fuses changes anything about the issue:
1. 10A H-LP HI RH
2. 10A H-LP HI LH
3. 15A H-LP LO RH
4. 15A H-LP LO LH
I dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
Yesterday my drivers side headlight was real dim and it was like a purple hue, today it is completely out and I got the light warning on the dash. My R has 23K on the odometer.

View 1 RepliesA few weeks back I started noticing the driver's side headlight would go out when I started up the car after work. If I drove it around & restarted about 10 mins later, the headlight would come back on, got sick of that after a week so I replaced the bulb and the same thing happens. It happens only when I leave work, any other time it's fine, even went on vacation for a week w/out any probs. The only thing I can think of is the heat from sitting out on the parking lot all day does something, what might be going on?

I bought it... took a quick look and couldn't see how to get to it - so I put it away for the night...Now I see on here there is some sort of "bulb issue" with Toyota?
