Toyota - Tercel :: 1983 - Rattle-like Sound That Gets Louder As Go Faster When Accelerate

I have a 1983 Toyota Tercel SR5. The car runs really well, however I have encountered a problem. When I accelerate there's this rattle-like sound that gets louder as I go faster. I was with my father and we had to speak louder to talk. He suggests that the noise is not in the engine but could be in the drivetrain. The noise is not changing with the engine RPM, just the car. It goes with the sound of the wheels; the faster I go, the sound gets louder. It sounds serious, but how? What are some of my options? Is it my drivetrain? Or my brakes?

When my 2006 Sonata 3.3 goes faster than 40 mph, a rattling noise develops under the hood. There is no sound when the car isn't moving. The dealer cannot locate or fix the problem.

I have a 03 passat with a 1.8t with 126k on it. I just bought the car last week and ever since i got it it has issues i cant figure out
On cold starts its makes a chirping sound under the hood that gets louder as you accelerate but goes away after motor warms up. The sound is similar to a loose or bad fan belt. But the noise is coming from the back passenger side of the engine when you listen under the hood.
Car also has no power. Had a good pull when i test drove the vehicle but now its a dog. It seems like its running on three cylinders or the turbo aint even working
Car is a 5 speed and its a struggle to put the car into first gear but every other gear is smooth. To get it in first you gota be stopped, put it in second then to first and you gota push the shifter left till you feel it pop in gear. Also have to hold it in 1st or it will sometimes pop out...

I have a 2009 toyota camry le 4 cyl with 170000 miles. I had my rear main seal replaced because there was an oil leak. Now after I got it back from the shop, there is a oil leak near the front motor mount and my engine had gotten louder when i accelerate. also it smells like paint or something inside my car. what did the shop do?

I cant recall if these sounds were there when i first bought the car, probably because i have the radio on most times. I think the buzzing sounds were present in the last month at least.
After i start up my car and even after idling for a while, i hear a buzzing sound coming from the engine. It gets louder when I accelerate. When I let go of the gas, the buzzing sound lags for a few seconds and then quiets down a little bit, but still can hear it in the background.
I lifted the hood up to listen more closely. I am not totally sure, but i think i can also hear a faint hissing sound ( sounds like leaking air?). I cant pinpoint where it is, but its around the engine.
I also notice that when I am idle, the MPG number in the dashboard is dropping fairly quickly. Like 0.1 mpg every 20 seconds. This is new and started today. I last drove it 4 days ago and didn't notice it happening then and i watch the mpg very closely every time i drive. Could there possibly be some gas leak?

I just bought a used hyundai santa fe sport 2.0t. i noticed it is fairly loud inside compared to my 2011 sonata. I don't know if im hearing tire noise or maybe a wheel bearing type noise. It's coming from the rear and gets louder as I go faster. I'll admit O am paranoid and probably making this sound worse than it is.

Having an issue with the 09 Platinum 5.4. Recently the air ducts to the passenger side have been routed straight to hell. The blow hot regardless of the setting, the driver side is fine. I can hear a clicking noise that gets faster/louder with the fan speed on the passenger side. I am thinking blend door motor? Possible location of this part and some replacement instructions? Wife and kids aren't digging this hot heat all the time, its a very uncomfortable ride in such a great truck!

I have weird sound from the engine bay area when i accelerate. Some describe this sound as "pop rocks in a soda can", "rattling of metal washers" or "fast ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-". I read all the posts and apparently its the TSI engine's turbo's waste gate which is not replaceable because its riveted on to the turbo (FSI's turbo's waste gate was apparently bolted on) is responsible for the noise.
I thought something was loose in my engine bay. I thought it was just MY CAR, so I planned on mentioning it when i go in for my first oil change, but I ran into this thread and figured out that it is a widespread "annoyance" (not a "problem" because VW claims that this noise is "normal").
This noise comes in around 2400rpm~3000rpm on my car if you give it around 1/3 ~1/2 throttle. This noise can be replicated on my car on all the gears pretty much (i have DSG fyi) with the windows rolled up. (if you cant make it out, try rolling down the window)
The noise sounds horrible! (to me at least). It's like I am driving something that's put together poorly and it is also quite embarrassing when you have a passenger with you...

So when I bought one of my cars used I noticed a plastic rattle coming from the dash. Removed the dash sprayed some silicone and sealed with rubber and that fixed it. maybe 2 weeks ago another very annoying rattle developed which you can hear when the ICE start and you accelerate...and now you can hear it even when you are cruising on the hwy. I thought it is from the dash again but you will see that even without the dash it is still there.

I have a question, what happens is when I'm driving along at lower speeds and slow down, perhaps at a stop sign, when I go to accelerate again, to cross the intersection for example, the car "chokes" or seems to be almost stalling. Once I have obtained a steady speed again the problem disappears.

1994 Toyota Tercel manual transmission 284k miles
Began having this problem earlier this week and it's steadily disappointed me every day. Initially car would not crank (turn key and nothing happened), so i read online and did the following steps after each of which it did start once or twice no problems before failing on me again!
First I checked the battery and it's at a solid 12.7V and tightened the connectors to the battery.
Checked starter (took out and to o Reilly, they plugged it in and it worked no problem, but they said it had some grease in it so i cleaned it up and the car started no problem, so i thought problem solved)...
Next day it wouldn't start again so I thought it might be a connection issue, i cleaned the positive terminal to the starter, and both positive and negative battery connections and it worked for a day and a half (worked this morning, but then failed this afternoon)... I checked the charge and from the positive terminal to the solenoid is still 12.7V so that's good right? I also got a light with a continuity tester from the solenoid to the engine but not! When i grounded to the frame (which was the opposite of what three website i was reading said would happen)
Most recently it cranked once but didn't start then refused to click crank or do anything since..

1991 Toyota Tercel 197,000 miles 5 speed is popping out of 5th gear, if I don"t hold my hand on the shifter it pops out.

I have a 1985 Toyota Tercel that I just got, the thing has been sitting for 2 years and it started before it was left to sit. Now I have done all the usual maintenance on it, replaced the sparks, oil, oil filter, air filter, distributor cap, fuel pump and fuel filter, gave it some gas treatment and filled the tank and some carb cleaner to clean out the gunked up carb. My problem is that it starts but dies right after when it tries to idle. it can shift in to gear and such but it will still die out right after about 10 seconds unless I keep tapping the gas. The more times I start it the longer it stays idle but I wonder what the problem is...

I have a 07' V6 SE and have a nasty wheel hop. Went to the track and ran 15.0@95mph all night because I can't accelerate faster without the nasty wheel hop (temp was 90 with lot of humidity). I would like to go to the track again, but before start making some mods (intake & complete exhaust) I want to get rid of the excessive wheel hop.

I have a 1993 toyota tercel that has a strange problem. The car starts fine when the engine is cold. If I drive it 15 to 20 minutes and stop and then try to start it again it will either not start or if it does, it makes a putting noise and shakes. Also if this is happening and I turn the steering wheel, the car will stop.

I bought a Toyota Tercel and the handbrake cables were seized so I changed them both, but they're still not locking the wheels... I've tried to adjust them with the nut beside the lever but it didn't work. I changed the brakes on both rear wheels.

Sometimes my car starts when I turn over the key once. When it won't start, if I jiggle the steering wheel several times it will start. (When it's cold or humid it rarely starts without first jiggling the steering wheel). I'm not locking the steering wheel and I don't have trouble turning over the key. When the problem first developed I was told it's not the battery, alternator or starter. (I have a Toyota Tercel so the key goes into the steering column). (A few months ago a shop had it a whole day but couldn't get it to act up; then the problem went away for a few months).

I have a noise I think maybe the front end but not sure it sounds like a wheel bearing noise it's becomes faster as I accelerate it does not increase in noise and by the time you get to 20 mph it disappears, it also disappears when ou tap the brakes or barely push the brakes I had the brakes inspected it's good had the wheel bearings check out even though they said it's a sealed bearing unit they did their test and the wheels made no noise...My car is a 2005 Camry 4 cyl.
