View 9 RepliesI have a 2010 Rav4, the tire pressure, track light and the engine light came up. I put air on the tires, about 30 lbs, but the pressure light is still on.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2005 Toyota Highlander. Ever since I got 4 new tires (~1 year ago), my low pressure light goes on about once every 6 weeks. Each time, there is at least one tire that's dropped about 2 lbs below recommended psi. Had it to the dealer (where I purchased the tires) and they told me there's no leak in any of the tires; that the low psi is because of fluctuation in the weather temps and subsequent fluctuation in tire pressure. I've never had this issue on any other car before. Are they pulling my chain b/c they don't want to replace bad tires or is this a legit reason?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2008 RAV-4 with leaky tires. The tires will slowly deflate from 35-20 psi over the period of a week or so. I have checked for nails without finding any. In the past we have taken them into a tire store and had them pulled to check for nails without ever finding anything. They usually reset the tires and tell us the seal between the wheel and tire was bad and they put some stuff on it and send us away. This will work for about a month and then it starts happening again.
We live on the end of a 1/2 mile dirt road. Is it possible that the dust that is kicked up by the car on the dirt road gets in the seal and degrades it? If so is there any "magic" solution you have run across or do I just stop at the gas station with free air every couple of days to top them off. Also why would our other car not be affected. I am assuming the RAV4 has good wheels or the tire place would be all over selling us some new ones.
I hit a pothole on I 55 going about 70 mph and the ABS/tire pressure lights went on. My gut feeling is that this is not serious, as the car is 14 years old (131,000 miles) and runs well. Figure it's just a sensor or connection issue or something like that. Is there a way that I can test to see if my ABS has stopped working without going to a mechanic? The tire pressure light comes on now and then at high speeds and usually means nothing.
View 5 RepliesTwo days ago I had new tires put on my 2007 Toyota Highlanders and since that time my air pressure sensor light keeps coming on. The tires are the right size, I checked in the owners manual. I've taken it back to the shop that put on the tires twice. The first time they told me the spare was low on air. the second time they told me the batteries in the air pressure sensors are dying and need to be replaced. I thought that sounded like a lame excuse so left the shop and called the Toyota Dealer and asked if the air pressure sensors have batteries. The service department at the Toyota dealer laughed and said no, they run off the car's battery. I called the shop back to tell them I was very disappointed and unhappy that they tried to sell me something that doesn't exist and they stood by the batteries in the sensors story and claimed they would show them to me if I would come back to the shop. Who should I believe? Replacing the batteries in tire air pressure sensors?
View 19 RepliesI had my tires rotated. About a month after that my tire pressure warning light came on. All tires were perfect expect the rear drivers side needed about 6 pounds of air pressure added. Now all tires are at 32PSI per owners manual recommendation.
The problem is that the tire pressure warning light stays on permanently. I read the owners manual and pressed the button under the steering wheel and the tire pressure light blinked 3 times like it's supposed to during a reset. However......the tire pressure warning light still stays on permanently. It won't go out. I followed the instructions in the manual. Maybe I did something wrong but I don't think so.
I have a 2011 Avalon Limited with 20.000 miles on it. Push button ignition.
I have a 2009 Toyota RAV 4, it has about 53,000 miles and I am the original owner. About 4 days ago my husband drove the car home from a trip to town, and I commented there was a clear thick oil leaking from all 4 tire wells. He pointed out it some of it had started before he left, but when he came home, it was worse. It continued to leak, but seemed to slow down.We brought it to the Toyota dealer and they have had it two days. They claim the drove the car, and let it sit overnight and they don't find anything or see any more leak. My husband cleaned the floor, and now we have four giant oil stains on the garage floor, it looks like someone spilled mineral oil or another clear oil.
View 5 RepliesI just bought a 2008 Highlander. I'm thrilled with the quality of the vehicle so far. This model has a tire pressure monitor system which I can't seem to reset. I've set the pressure in all tires at 34psi and 44 for the spare, and the indicator light will not go out. I press the reset button and the indicator light never blinks to indicate that a reset is in progress.
View 29 RepliesI took my truck in because the tire pressure monitor light was on. I tried resetting it and that didn't work. I took the truck to the tire store where I purchased the tires. They checked all the sensors with test equipment and 4 out of 5 were bad. So I had them replace all the sensors including the spare. The light is still on. I followed the reset procedure and confirmed all 5 tires were at 32 psi. when I perform the reset the light blinks once and then stays on. What Now?
View 1 RepliesI bought Toyota Camry 2013 LE and couple days ago Tire Pressure Warning Light appeared!!
I checked all tires and the pressure is 35 PSI but the warning light is still on, how to turn it of or reset it?
I bought a used certified 2012 Toyota Camry LE with 6000 miles on it directly from the main and larger Toyota dealer two weeks ago, I chose to get original tires inflated with nitrogen which is a service provided by dealer.
Right now I'm realizing that the display screen is not showing me the tires at all, just the trip and gas consumption stats.
Before taking the car to dealer and get in line is there a way system may be reset so tires and of course pressure data are properly displayed?
The light has been coming on for the last couple of weeks. I can reset the light by pushing the dash button. On a 700 mile trip last weekend, I probably reset it half a dozen times. The tires are all at 30 PSIg. Two tire gauges agree. I don't know how the system works. I don't think there is a sensor in each wheel like some later cars have. I suspect it works off of ABS sensors and wheel revolutions. The ABS light is not on, nor has it been.
The right rear tire has been replaced with one of the same size, but a different brand. This issue started a month after that. Can that tire have a different revolution length per rotation and cause this issue?
Looking at buying an 05 rav4. Everything looked great until I checked the tranny fluid which was grey/pink. It was a trade so no service records but a very clean carfax. I really like the car and it shifts fine including accelerating up a hill. I'm hoping it just needs changing. I'm in need of replacing my 99 CRV with 230k and needs a new head.
View 18 RepliesI have a 2005 Rav4 Sport. I've been taking it to the same mechanic for years and have never had a problem. After my last visit (65K tune-up and new brakes), the car squealed when applying brakes driving forward or in reverse. The mechanic took it back, changed brakes and there was a small improvement. They next took it to Toyota who changed brakes and rotors and there was a bigger improvement. Now the squeal only happens when reversing out of a parking space while turning the wheel. It is back at the mechanics. They said they've taken it apart and can't find anything that would cause the problem.
View 9 RepliesMy car's driver's side tire looks almost flat as one of my co-workers indicated first but the tire pressure light is NOT on. Should I worry about it and get it checked out?
View 19 RepliesMy low tire light is on my 2009 VW Sportwagen SE 2.5. The tires are inflated properly even the spare tire and yet the light is still on.
View 1 RepliesDo cold weathers cause tires to deflate? On my way to school today I noticed the tire pressure light. I've had the car only for 3-4 weeks. Never had any issues with it.
View 19 RepliesI had new nitto snows put on my truck and low tire pressure light is on.....Checked tire pressure 65 front and 80 back.....Started truck and screen said tms pressure low.....Hit ok and drove around on and off for 2 days now and cant get the light to go out......Is there some way to get the light out or do I have to go to my dealer to have it reset???
View 14 RepliesThe tire pressure warning light has been on in my car for about a week. The dashboard computer says that the tire pressure in the front right tire is 17 psi, but when I use the pressure gauge, the reading is almost 40 psi. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this problem?
View 16 RepliesI have a 2000 Toyota Rav4 that just had an oil change and air filter replacement a little over a week ago. Today I was driving when the oil light suddenly came on (for the first time ever) followed by the check engine light. The car would not accelerate with pressing the gas and slowly came to rest on the side of the road. I tried to restart it and it made some noise but didn't start. I did check the oil and it is showing that its full.
