My car vibrates badly when I stop for a light. It is fine when I drive. Already replaced all of the engine mounts.

View 1 Repliesmy 88 camry will start and idle fine however whenever you attempt to accelerate the vechicle the car trys to stall and hesitate badly and will not move. i have changed the fuel filter the spark plugs and plug wires i cannot figure it out. also this started out of nowere the car was driving i had been driving for about ten miles stopped at a red light and that is when the car started doing this.
View 9 RepliesI just bought a 2009 Toyota Camry with 78K miles on it. Everything is great except at highway speeds it shakes and vibrates when braking. The higher the speed the worse it is. Steering wheel shakes as well. I pulled both front tires off and the rotors appear to be smoothe on both sides with no grooves, etc. However, I'm due for new front brake pads. There's some pad left but could that be why it shakes and vibrates when braking? How do you tell if rotors are warped? Rotors are smooth but could they still be warped?
View 16 RepliesI purchased a 2010 Toyota Rav4 January 2010. In august, I noticed that the driver seat was badly frayed where you sit. Dealer replaced it. It is now November 2011 and the problem is back. The Rav4 has 29,000 miles. I am not particularly heavy nor do I carry razor blades in my back pocket. In fact, I can't even drive long distances with my wallet in my back pocket. I took the car in and this time the dealer said Toyota would not warranty the seat.
View 1 RepliesI have an 2007 Toyota Prius and in the mornings, especially if it is humid or moist outside, my brakes grab badly during the first couple of stops....it's bad enough to make somebody run into the back of me. When it happens, you will also hear a screeching noise coming from the (sounds like ) rear brake, passenger side. I have taken the car to the local garage twice and they found nothing wrong. I have taken it to the local Toyota dealer 3 times and likewise, they found nothing wrong either.
View 3 RepliesMy Toyota Sienna 2002 van has been stalling when I stop off and on for about 2 weeks. Most times it starts up again and continues to run. I can go days and it doesn't happen then yesterday it happened 7 times in the course of 10 minutes. I've had it connected to a computer diagnostic system three times, couldn't find any error messages.
View 2 RepliesWhen I stop for a few minutes, such as at a light, or making a left hand turn, my car hesitates. The place I take it to cannot find the problem and they have replaced a lot of things in it, but still no change. It is a 2002 car, so it is a little older, but I have always kept it in good shape, it has 65,000 miles on it.
View 6 RepliesThis is a 1996 Toyota Tacoma, 2WD, 2.4L. When I apply the brakes I get a very heavy vibration in the front end, almost like a wobble. The vehicle otherwise stops fine. No noises. The vibration occurs at pretty much any speed over 20 mph. The frequency does not seem tied to the actual speed but it's hard to tell for sure. It does not do it when I apply the emergency brake only.
I replaced the front disk brake pads, with new clips and shims. There were worn down pretty far and needed replacing. Unfortunately that did not make any difference in the vibration. Rotor runout and minumum thickness were checked while changing the disk brake pads and both were within specs. I did a quick inspection of the ball joints and tie rod ends by trying to move the tire and everything seems tight enough.
I'm not very proficient on suspension issues. What else can I look for.
I have a Toyota Sienna 2005 LE minivan , when I push the brakes my steering vibrates. I checked the tire balancing at the tire store just to double check no issues with balancing he verified all looked fine on tires he mentioned it is possible the front brake rotor causing it. He said I may have to replace the rotor itself since there may not be enough room for resurfacing the rotor. My question is
is it true I cannot resurface the rotors? if I have to buy new ones is it advisable if I buy it from "Autozone or OReilly " store or does it have to be the original from Toyota ? Toyota's pricing are 4 times more than from these stores. I know safety is important so let me know which option is better.
Issues with my '86 Toyota MR2... So, I just recently bought this car earlier this year and it's always seemed to be giving me problems. One of the major ones is that the engine is always dying. When it first did this a couple times after I bought it, my dad and I assumed it was the alternator(we figured it couldn't be the battery because the battery that was in it was relatively new, but we took it to Auto Zone to check the volts on it anyways, and it was all good; we did get the alternator checked also and the guy said it was the alternator), so, we bought a new alternator and my dad and I replaced it. About a week or two later, it started back up with the issue. Whether I was stopped at a red light, slowing down, or making a turn, the engine would die. So, whenever I'm at a red light, I'll put the E-brakes on or put the car in neutral and just get the RPMs up, but shortly after I rev it up, it'll stall. And I try pushing the clutch in all the way, majority of the time, it doesn't make a difference and dies anyway.
View 19 RepliesI have recently noticed that when I accelerate my Toyota Prius 2010 it makes rattle noise and vibrates the whole car. The weird "bang" "bang" noise comes from the passenger side near the engine and when the noise comes my whole car shakes like crazy!
I went to my local car mechanic and he couldn't find anything wrong with it accept the EGR valve which I have now replaced. However, the problem still continues. When I shut down my car and then restart it its fine for some time and then the problem repeats!
It sounds like this .....
We have a 2007 Camry SE, 4 cyl with about 85k miles on it. Recently we noticed the gas pedal vibrates when we take off from a stop. The vibration lasts only at slow speeds. It literally feels like someone strapped on a cell phone in vibrate mode on the gas pedal. Planning on taking it to the dealer soon.
View 1 RepliesJust finished replacing all 4 struts this morning. Next complaint on her list:
Car Shudders / Vibrates when AC is on and in Gear (seems OK in Park). It doesn't seem to Idle up when the compressor engages......everything works fine......just vibrates a lot more than it used to.
2009 Camry 4Cyl. This is my 5th Toyota and it is the biggest POS compared to all my others. Been very disappointed in this ride.
Our 2008 Camry just started with the front end vibration about a month ago. I can really only notice it when accelerating and decelerating at around 40 mph. The front end seems to shake side to side. So far, I have had the tires balanced, rotated, and the front end aligned. The garage found one of the tires had a very small flat spot on one tire and replaced it. This did not fix anything. They sent me to a transmission sop, they said they saw nothing.
The steering wheel does not vibrate at all. Whether I use the brake or not, it always vibrates around 40, maybe up to 50. If the car is vibrating at any other speeds, I cannot feel it. The transmission place said maybe one of the axles is a little bit bent. But, couldn't say why the car did not shake at all speeds if it was bent.
I am going to bring it to a Toyota dealer. Are there any technical bulletins that might address this potential problem?
As title says, I cannot fill up tank without pump cutting off every few seconds.
View 2 RepliesMy car is an 08' camry LE v6. I bought it with 45,000 miles on it and I've had this issue since I got it, put 10k miles on it with no change. When I am going 55mph+ or going downhill the car vibrates when I brake, the steering wheel shakes pretty violently. It doesn't seem to affect the stopping power and it's perfectly smooth at low speeds. I don't think it's a wheel balance/alignment issue because it's only when braking, even at 80mph this car is the smoothest ride I've ever had.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry SE and lately on low throttle the car vibrates or shudders like if in driving thru a rough road and tires are good used a different set and still the same result.
View 14 RepliesCamry Vibrating and Hesitating. A couple people told me it was probably the tires and that only expertly balanced michelins will fix this. I would like to do it myself.
View 1 Replieswe recently bought a 2008 Camry LE (Automatic), and from the beginning, I've noticed something that is nothing more than an annoyance, but I am starting to not get that impression. The problem is that at a stop, in any drive gear, I have a vibration from the engine. The engine is warmed up and everything. Shift into neutral, it goes away immediately (like I can feel it dissipate as it disengages the gear). No vibrations while driving, only to a stop. Tach reads about 650-700ish and goes up to sometimes 8 in neutral. We also have an OBD-II reader, and no codes are being thrown, no lights on the dash indicating any warnings either.
Now I have just put 2000 miles on it yesterday from when we bought it, and it has a little over 40k on the odometer. My worry is that there is a possible issue with the torque converter or transmission. Any issues with the torque converter that might cause this? Or is there something else that might cause this? If there is an issue that can prove something is faulty, the dealer we bought it from has a warranty that covers almost everything besides oil and filters and whatnot, so hopefully there should be no problem. Like I said, though, it is an annoyance, and I do not want this to escalate to something worse.
I've noticed that my Camry has seemed especially sluggish when it starts from a stopping position. The acceleration just seems slow, but it gets better once I get up in speed. My first instinct was the transmission, but the fluid level is fine and I'm not really feeling that 'slipping' feeling. I noticed that my tires are very worn (not bald, but certainly worn to the point where I want them replaced), so I'm planning to get those replaced. However, I'd like to know a little more information so I know what to expect when I go into the shop.
1) Could the worn tires contribute to the dragging feeling that car has when it starts to accelerate?2) I've also heard noises almost like a rumble shortly after I stop at a light, and rarely when I make any turns. I'm going to have them check the brakes and all, but the brakes seem fine and I never hear that noise when I step on them, only the two scenarios described. Could the worn tires be responsible for that sound too?
I guess ultimately I'm curious what sounds/issues a car could have as a result of worn tires (other than the obvious risks of wet roads, blown tires, fuel economy, etc).
so i had my fogs installed a week ago and today i noticed that when i drive over places that kind of vibrates the car? my fogs flashes. but other than that, they work fine. is it something i need to worry about?
