I have a 95 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series that is not automatically locking doors whenever I shift the car out of the Park position. I am wondering if the door locks have to be programmed or if there is somewhere else to check or both.

View 5 RepliesI purchased a 2013 Camry XLE V6 a few weeks ago and love the car so far. I am very happy with the deal I received and am greatly enjoying the step up in smoothness from the Mazda 3 with manual transmission that I was driving. For now, I have one simple question and will post some other observations over the next few weeks.My question regards the available methods of automatically unlocking the doors when shifting in to park or turning the car off. I want to set my car to the mode talked about on page 55 of the 2013 owners manual where all the doors are unlocked when the drivers door is opened within ten seconds after turning the engine start stop switch off.
I have tried several times to follow the directions shown for the smart key system but I cannot get it to work. I have disabled the auto lock when shift into park function in the car settings in the display audio system. I even tried some random directions that I found on the Internet but they seem to perhaps work only for older Camrys. How to to set their auto door unlocking in the mode described above? I really just would like to check it out and see if I like it. Honestly, I can probably live without it and just press the unlock button or use the unlock when shifting into park mode
I have a 94 lincoln towncar and the air suspension is not turning on and I am dragging over the smallest bumps. I have checked the fuse on the main fuses but it is fine.
View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a 2002 Lincoln Town Car with 204,000 miles but it runs like a champ. The Problem Is It burns too much gas i filled the tank up and2 days later I'm at a 1/4 tank without driving very much. My fuel economy states that i'm getting 8.5 miles a gallon this number goes up and down. I changed the oil and air filter still having the same problem. I need to know what I can Do to fix this I have heard the plugs and possibly the coils but I would like to know if there is more or perhaps something else I will be doing the work mostly myself.
View 14 RepliesOk I have a friend with this car and said it kept over heating. I went and looked at it and found the source of the leak. It's right after the heater core. The hose comes out and into the engine. Where the hose slides onto the engine has a leak . It looks like the piece can unscrew and be replaced but I don't know what it's called.
View 1 RepliesI have a 1997 Lincoln towncar with the air suspension. After parked for overnight I found the car sagging in the rear so I thought a air bag went out so I thought I would take it in to get fixed but the next few nights nothing happen the car stayed level then the next night it went down then the next few nights it stays level.
I took it to the dealer and they told me they see nothing wrong and kept it over night and it did not go down. It is like a roll of the dice if it stays level or goes down. I sprayed the air bags and the lines to them with soap water to see if I could find any leaks but I did not see anything.
The compressor is buried so unless I know that is the problem I am not going to rip everything apart to not find a leak or is that where I should be starting. If the car is running everything stays level and no light is on. I do not want coils in the car I like the air suspension.
I replaced the Air shocks with regular springs from a conversion kit I purchased on EBAY. The instructions to disable the "Check Air Suspension" light were included in the kit. I followed these instructions without success. I disconnected pin #11 from the wire harness under the dash, behind the glove box. I then telephones the company and was told to cut the black wire to the air compressor under the hood - below the air filter canister. How do I TURN OFF THIS LIGHT? I own a 1997 Lincoln Town Car signature.

My running lights blinks and everything work perfect but when I press the brake nothing will light up I've checked all the fuses in the manual and all bulbs seem to be fine.
View 1 Replies1996 lincoln towncar wont start intermittently. Started doing this yesterday, was troubleshooting and my friend jumped the starter to check it and he said it was good. I messed with a few fuses wires and it started up fine. Drove today with no problem, parked and it won't start again... same as yesterday... turn key and all u get is a clicking sound from the inside sounds like under the glovebox in the dash...
View 12 RepliesWe like the car so far (not many miles on it yet so the jury is still out ) but one complaint my wife has: all doors automatically unlock when you shift into park. If she is in unknown territory or unsafe appearing area but needs to shift into park, this is a security issue for her. I can see it being a concern if you pull up to an ATM drive-through too as one normally would shift to park and conduct their business. It's not unheard of (rare, yes) to be confronted by someone trying to rob you while making such a transaction at times when few or no other people are around, etc. It's unnerving to think you're passenger side door might be opened while you are doing business out the driver's side door. I think my wife is more concerned about times when parking in underground ramp; doors unlock before she can survey the area UNLESS she remembers to not automatically shift into park when she pulls into the space. So, whether this automatic unlock "feature" can be disabled?

View 5 RepliesI wanted to know that at the moment my prius does not automatically locks the doors when reaching above 20km/hr as its suppose to.
I went through the manual and tried to turn the power button on and pushing the gear in N and pressing the lock button but it didn't work.
This just happened today. The car will no longer shift pack into park, all the way up the car is still in reverse. All other gears are working fine. What could be wrong with it?
View 5 RepliesMy 1997 Town Car has had the sound from the dash related to the blend door actuator in other posts. Noise would last for 5 - 10 minutes and go away. Today I noticed when driving I was getting a wild fluctuation in heat when set to automatic on the climate control so I decided to run the diagnostic to verify the blend door problem. I got code 024 so I know it is the actuator. My problem since I ran the diagnostic(exited by pushing defrost) the actuator noise is now constant and I have no heat, only cool air is blowing. Is there a reset I can do for the actuator? It's as if it is stuck in test mode.

The owners manual indicates that I can get the doors to lock automatically at 20 km/hr. I have tried following the instructions in the manual to make this happen but without any success.
View 14 RepliesMy 05 Lincoln ls is giving false door ajar warning messages whilst driving. it doesn't happen at all times, just often enough to be annoying. I believe this is what is causing the alarm to go off intermittently when i leave it locked. Is there anything, short of taking it to a professional, that i can do to fix this?
View 3 RepliesWhen approaching the car from any direction, if I am within a couple of feet of a door, the door automatically unlocks. It's wicked cool and I love that it does this but....I don't think it's supposed to.
I only have the only FOB that works (I have another but either the battery is dead or the fob is dead) so I can't test to see if it does it with both.
,I looked through the owners manual, and searched Google but I don't see anything saying this is something that is supposed to happen. The doors don't lock automatically, and if I press the door button to lock the car it doesn't unlock again. It only seems to unlock if I walk up to it locked and stand there for a few seconds.
I recently purchased a 2006 Ford F-150 XLT and don't know very much about it, nor Fords in general. I was just wondering if there is any way to have the power doors unlock automatically when I shift into Park or turn the ignition off? It has the option to have the doors automatically lock once I reach 5-10 mph, but I can't find any information about programming it to unlock automatically. It doesn't have the programmable computer display, so everything requires pressing a bunch of buttons when the key is turned on accessory and things like that. I have kids who are always in the back seats, and it gets annoying trying to get them out of the truck when it's off and I forget to manually unlock them.
View 6 RepliesMy buddy just got himself an 07 Rx350 and his cargo door opens automatically when you press on the rubber thing above the license plate, while mine 04 Rx330 doesn't do it. It just unlatches the door, but doesn't open it.
