Touareg :: Km/h Display Can't Be Changed To Mph?

I thought I would share this with all of you. I had my T2 in for 5K service. I asked again if they could change the digital display of the speed in km/h to mph. I thought there might have been a new computer update. They spent an extra day working on just this issue. The tech even called VW and went to another T2 on the lot to try to reprogram it. No luck. So - it looks like it's official. You can't change the display to MPH on a T2 with the "plain" MFI. I am working on learning the metric system - or just reading the gauge. Still love it!

I have a base V6 and was wondering if the doors opened by the key fob can be changed. I'd like to open all doors and trunk with one push of the key fob.

For some strange reason, my T-reg has set itself to 0.00 psi on all four tires. I went into the program and attempted to have it reset. The tire pressure "off" icon appears at the top of the screen and upon start-up the annunciator states that it is recalibrating. How long does it typically take to recalibrate before you get a psi reading on the tires? Shouldn't it come immediately? It still has not recalulated after 5 miles. Should I have VW service take a look at it or is their a simple adjustment I can make?

I just bought new DS1 8k bulbs to replace my aging 6k bulbs. It was a sinch to install and seemed too good to be true. Well i turn my car on and the check bulbs light came on and low and behold the lights do not turn on. The dealership said it would not matter whether I had 6k before and bought 8k but it seems like this might be the issue.

I have a 2005 V8 and in getting my latest service, a bunch of recalls were completed on the vehicle which seemed to screw up the locking/unlocking of the doors. In the past, the doors unlocked without having to hit any of the buttons on the key fob, but now, I get a 'chirp' from the car when I lock it, and have to click the unlock button once for the front doors and twice for the back doors. Is there anyway to revert back to the old way where just having the key close to the door unlocked it?

If you get the Nav w/o air suspension does it display anything other than basic navigation functions. I have seen pics in the FAQ showing an inclinometer among other things. Also will the DVD based Nav play CD-Rs.

My A/C dropped out, which alerted me to the temp gauge which was high, then to the "overheating" warning in the display.
I parked it to allow it to cool, then drove on with the heat cranked to shed some heat, only to have to park it again. After only a 3.5 hr wait (what a joke), VW's roadside sub-contractor showed up with a flat-bed to bring it to Rod East VW in San Antonio.
I am still waiting for their diagnosis. I did take some time this weekend to test drive a truck and look at some other vehicles, but nothing in this price range is appealing to me.
Despite the grief I go through with this thing, it's still the best value. I've got 52k miles on my loaded '04 V8.

My center display (between tach and speedometer) all of sudden went dim. Can barely read any info. Does this have a fuse or do I need to take it in for a check up...

I had my TReg in for the 5000 mile service this week. Among the laundry list of items on my punchlist for them I mentioned the compass and the fact it was going on and off and the blue light was sometimes changing from dim to brighter when the headlights are on.
The dealer indicated that VWoA has acknowledged some problems with the compass display and I'm getting a new one.

My owners manual says that when cruise is turned on there is a "cruise" symbol in the color MFI - that works as advertised. It also states that after pressing "set" at speed the set speed should also be displayed.
Do a 'set' speed display with cruise and if so do you have NAV or not. Do you have Color or Red MFI ?

"Check lights" just popped up on the display. Low beam lights appeared very weak. Hooked VAG-COM, it said that the right xenon bulb is a problem. Strangely, high beam won't even turn on!? Pulled the right headlight assembly, checked the high beam bulb - no problem. Inspected the inside of the assembly - no visible problem. The xenon bulb looked almost burnt out.

Is there anyway to enable the DVD display while driving? Dealer scan? When driving the monitor does not display due to safety.
Obviously my wife and I would not watch while driving, but we were hoping our passengers could watch a DVD on long trips, etc.

I thought I saw, somewhere, the ability for the navigation screen to display the angle of tilt (both horizontal & vertical) of the car in real-time. I'm only able to get the display of altitude and front wheel angle.

I complained about this 8 months ago and they replaced the compass display module. Then my battery died about 6 months ago and they replaced the compass control module. Now it's flickering--worse than the first time where the backlight was turning on and off. It's just the backlight that appears to be flickering.

Got a check brake light warning in the display today, I assume one on the brake lights are out and need to be changed. Is this a simple plug and play change, and are the brake lights in the tailgate or rear quarters.

Over the weekend when starting up my '04 Treg I noticed on the dashboard display the following warning sign "WHEEL FAILURE". Does any one have a clue what that may be? Once started moving the display only showed the little circle sign that you get when the tire pressure monitor senses that one tire has lower than usual pressure. After driving for more than one hour that sign went off. This morning the same warning came on again.

I love this car, but it makes me crazy at times. Was driving home from work last night and decided to stop at a sports bar for supper. Used turn signal to indicate right turn, looked at the dash, no indicator lighted on the dash, no 'tick, tick' sound.
Looked at the mirror housing, the turn arrow was flashing. The wife and I looked things over once we got parked, front turn signal worked (right and left), mirror housing worked and rear turn signal worked, but no dash indicators. As further information, brake lights worked, too.
Decided to 'reboot' the car. Shut it off, turn it on, no indicators. Went into the sports bar. Returned two hours later. Turned on car, used turn signal to indicate as we were leaving the parking lot, everything worked just fine...

I only see highway numbers on the map display, not street names. Is this because it is a CD-based nav system and not DVD-based (my DVD nav system on my Mini Cooper S displays all street names)?
Maybe I am missing a setting?
