Wipers, Compass and Steering Volume button stop working.... I cleared all codes, the problem still exists. I checked all the fuses, all ok. What else to do?
View 1 RepliesSometimes the volume button on the stereo nor the buttons on the steering button do not increase or decrease the volume. I can turn the stereo on and off - still the same. If I turn the engine off and on - this issue goes away. It's only just started happening in the past few weeks.
View 7 RepliesI got in my truck yesterday morning and as soon as I turn the key, the volume starting increasing to as loud as it would go, as I attempted to turn it down, it fights me and turns up. The only way to stop the madness is to turn off the radio all together. I then noticed that I was unable to access my MFI from the steering column and the Volume buttons do not work there as well.
If I cycle power on the stereo a few times the volume increase will stop......until I touch any setting on the stereo, then the gremlins take over once again.

View 4 RepliesI have an 2007 v8 in campy white..barely 10k miles on it only one issue my wipers stopped working twice..both times a loose nut fixed by the dealer..while washing the other day i noticed minor scratches behind the door handle on the outside.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 Passat W8 with the Monsoon system and today I had a new problem pop up with it. On my way to work this morning the steering wheel volume and tuning controls stopped working. I also noticed that the Heads up display in the center of the dash is now blank...it used to show the CD number and track number. I can't seem to find any blown fuses in the fusebox.. I don't have the removal tools but I was going to check behind the radio to see if there might be another fuse there...

View 1 RepliesMy front wipers have quit and have seen a similar thread a while ago indicating that this is something others have encountered. This happened once before about a month ago, and they started up again a few days later. So I don't think it is the motor. The back ones work, the fluid works, but no fronts.
View 2 RepliesStrangely, after my battery died and the car was jump-started the volume control on the steering wheel is not working correctly. When I press the volume up switch, the sound actually decreases, and the volume down button does not function. The manual volume control on the radio works fine.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2012 GLS and on the way to work this evening I noticed that the volume/channel buttons on the steering wheel for the radio will not work. The mode button still works properly, so I attempted to change the radio station on the radio itself to no avail. No buttons other than the volume work on the radio as well.

View 5 RepliesI've got the button for turning on the heated steering wheel, but I don't think that was an option I got. It doesn't seem to get warm. Is the button there even if you don't have the option? If mine is heated, is there an indicator to tell you its turned on?
View 5 RepliesMy V10 has the wood steering wheel, and the button to turn heat on and off. I have not been able to get this feature to work. On questioning the dealer they said that this option was not offered in Australia. It seems unlikely to me that a manufacturer would make two types of wood wheel as the production run would be more expensive than just one.

View 3 RepliesMy 03 GX470 has an issue where the windshield wipers will randomly stop working. It doesn't matter what setting they are on, auto, low, high, they work fine for a few minutes, then just stop mid stroke. They sometimes start back again on their own after a minute or so, but usually, I have to turn the switch to other settings a few times, to get it going again. Inevitably though, the wipers only work for a few minutes more, before stopping again. What could be causing this?

Is it there on all vehicles, but non-functional in some, or did I luck out? Hoping that maybe VW was trying to make up for the fact that I didnt get the sun shades, the hatch assist, etc.

I remember when I test drove a base model Treg the salesperson was showing me this using the thumb wheel he was changing radio chanels. For some reason I can't do the same. I can once and for all say I'm sick of the wipers working only with the steering wheel in the "up" position. Is it a big deal to tear into the column and replace that stinking multi-switch/harness? 378000 miles ....

I picked up a 2012 SEL w/ RNS-510 today and the steering wheel voice button doesn't work. It's basically a golf inside and the Tiguan forum is slow so I'll ask here. I checked it with vcds and its coded for voice command to work. Did the 2012's cone with a harness for voice command or do I need to add the wires to the harness? My rns-510 is a version F and the service records show that the original was replaced under warranty. It's running software 3690 but I'm installing 4366 in the morning. Does 3690 disable voice command? I know it works with 4366. I'd mess with it tonight, but I drove 500 miles each way to get it so I'm ready for bed.
When I press the star button on the rns-510 the annoying voice says, "route guidance is not available".
My 05 has a problem with the recirculate and defrost buttons on the wheel. The recirculate button will sometimes toggle the MFD between the consumption screen and the energy monitor screen like the info button does and won't change the recirculate light on the dash at all. Sometimes it will do nothing, and other times it works normal changing from outside air to recirculate. Also the defrost button will sometimes turn on the windshield defroster with 1 push then turn on the rear defroster with a second push and both will go off on the 3rd push.
Other times both defrost buttons will do nothing or work normally. When the wheel buttons are acting up the MFD will control both the recirculate and defrost functions normally so I don't think the MFD is the problem. The 12 volt battery has been checked and is good at 12.4 volts and there is no malfunction lights or codes set in the system. All the other buttons on the wheel function normally. What to check?
