Whistling sound from the pillar vents behind the driver and passenger sides? I get the whistling sounds from the passenger side when the fan is on a certain speed.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2005 Touareg TDI european model, with an anoying whistling sound somewhere in the drivers door or the b-pillar. The sound is not constant, but change according to the settings to the fan. I have been to the VW dealer, but they have not found any solution to my the problem yet.
View 3 RepliesWhile driving with a friend today he noticed no air coming out of the rear vents(the ones between the front and back door windows). We played around with all the controls and read the manual but nothing. Air was coming out the rear middle console.
Are these vents part of the four-zone option which I don't have or am I missing something
I have always has a lot of wind noise from the b-pillar on the driver's side (not passenger) over 80 mph... and it's not coming from the mirror...
I think I remember something about a vent or breathing hole in the b-pillar that's supposed to be open...but when covered causes wind roar at elevated highway speeds...
I have the Golf 2.5 just under 5K miles with the 15" steel wheels and just recently I've noticed a clicking noise on both the drive and passenger sides. The frequency of the noise increases as I increase speed so I assume it is a tire/wheel issue. Sounds like its coming from the back but hard to tell.

View 4 RepliesBoth of my doors do it, especially as they are heating up and cooling down. If you push on them you can hear the same noise that they make while driving.
View 1 RepliesAny spec sheet for installing the doors or aligning them. I have been having a problem with the driver's door not sitting properly at the bottom left corner along the A pillar. This causes the first part of the triple seal system [the Touareg has] to be compromised, thus letting in water if submerged.
View 5 RepliesHaving the problem of when the A/C is on about 1/2 way (3-4 bars), you can hear a kind of turbulent whistling noise behind the drivers seat? I think its coming from the drivers side passenger vent that's in the B pillar.
At first I thought it was a fan motor that was going bad, but was informed by the dealer that there is no fan there. They thought it might be a duct not making good connection with another duct and air escaping.
My dealer is clueless (of course) and said that they could not find a TSB on this problem.
I have a 2006 Azera Limited and I am not getting any heat coming out of the passenger side vents. It will blow cold air so I know the blower motor is working and pumping out cold air, and I am getting heat on the drivers side just fine. With the cold weather now settling into Ohio, I wanna jump on this issue before it becomes a bigger problem.
View 1 RepliesMy 2012 Ford F350 Super Duty Crew Cab has a squeak in the pillar between the driver and rear door. Or at least that is where it seems to be coming from. It gets better and worse but it's driving me nuts. Any potential fixes?
View 14 RepliesMy 2009 silverado ltz is haveing heating issues. when you first start truck all work fine. After a couple min the drivers side vents loose heat and blows cold air. the heat on the pass side works fine. then the vent will change to defrost even though the display still shows its on vent. the only way to get it back is to mess with the vent control. then it will last about a min then back to defrost. at this point i just turn it off. I have already replaced the control panel to no avail ...
View 1 RepliesWe bought a new to us 03 Touareg in October last year. Throughout the winter the heater worked always on the passenger side (left side, I'm in Scotland) intermittantly on the drivers side. After having the a/c on (yay!) a few times this summer. Now when I switch to heat, the driver's side doesn't heat up at all, although the passenger's side seems to be working fine.
My husband has promised me he will have it fixed for the real winter coming in and I think he's beginning to sweat cos he's having a hard time finding just what the problem is!
I tried checking out the a/c threads on here but everytime I click on the link, I get the 404 message that it's unavailable. Also the passenger seat heats up fine but the drivers (that's me, the wife lol) seat only works sometimes.
I was driving home today and randomly thought to open the vents in the b pillars and noticed that neither rear vents were flowing any air. I opened and close them and I tried every mode on the AC, and even tried turning the rear vents from the arm rest to the back seat off. Any clue as to what the deal is?? I just cant imagine what the issue is. I have never used the vents in three years of ownership but would like to think that I have the option.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2004 Chevy Venture and the blower (Vent, AC, Heater, doesn't matter) is only blowing air out of the left or driver side of the van, nothing on the passenger side vents. There aren't 2 blower motors, are there? Is a door shut that shouldn't be? This van doesn't have dual climate control like my GM cars do. The rear controls work fine for the 2nd row passengers. Again, not tied to any blower speed or heat vs. AC. Same regardless. Nothing on the passenger side.
View 7 RepliesJust started experiencing an AC problem. First started with diminished cooling and airflow. Checked the filter and it was dirty, so replaced it. Airflow is completely restored however the air from the drivers side vents is significantly warmer than the passenger side vents.
View 1 RepliesMy Hundai Azera 2009, was blowing heat on both side of a "dual system" during the cold months. Now that its warm weather when I turn on the A/C it blows cold on driver side vents , but hot air on passenger side. What do I need to correct this.
View 2 RepliesHistory - So my A/C was going out about 6 months ago. It would come in and out with cold air until eventually it just stopped all cold air and was only hot. Then the control knobs broke. I took it in and they told me I had to replace the control unit and that would fix all the issues. Well I got it back and the A/C was still blowing hot air (even though the knobs were now working).
So I took it back in and they said they couldn't find anything wrong and it must be this hairline crack that was leaking freon. they said they couldn't find the crack but loaded it up with freon and said i would have to 'wait it out' could be years could be a few weeks, they just didn't know. well, it worked for awhile but here i am in 102 degree heat and when I turn on the A/C in the really hot car the passenger side quickly blows cold air and the driver side takes about 20 minutes before it finally gets cold. What gives? I do not have dual temperature controls.
I have an 09 Limited with the dual automatic climate control. It finally got cool enough to start running the heater. The passenger side vents are throwing cold air instead of warm like the drivers side. This includes the windshield defroster. I'm thinking there is a diverter "somewhere" that is not working properly.
View 2 RepliesI seem to be having an issue with my air conditioning. I don't think it's an ID-10T error, but it is very peculiar.
My driver side vents blow hot or lukewarm air, however my passenger vents are ice cold. I have the 15 limited, so it does have the "dual" control, and as such I think the issue may be related to that.
Both controls are set to low, max fan, head only, and AC. The "Sync" and "Auto" buttons have no effect.
Any things I can check? I really do not want to bring it into the dealer as they treated me very poorly the last time I came in and my car was out for a month.
