On what road condition do you use Sport, Automatic & Comfort shock absorber settings
My salesmen told me sport on the highway and automatic the rest of the time.

A few weeks ago, my door unlocking settings reset to "driver's side" (I have it set to "all") 3-4 times in one week. I remember this being an issue with the 2004 models, but I was surprised to see it happen in my 2006... and then completely disappear.
View 13 RepliesThis glitch has been noted on repair orders and supposedly fixed at least three times now, but it's BACK. (So much for my wood knocks and no problems for three months.) Odd thing though, it'll reset to default three times in a row, then I won't have the problem for two weeks. Then, this morning, that annoying click, telling me now that my doors are locked at 5mph and my unlock door setting goes back to DRIVER SIDE ONLY (I prefer ALL as the setting). How to take care of it for good? I've had something having to do with this in my MFI replaced once or twice now.
View 6 RepliesAnyway, I'm starting to get really annoyed because our Touareg keeps losing it's keyless entry comfort settings at random. I always set it to unlock all the doors, flash the blinkers, and not sound the horn, but at random it will set itself to sound the horn and only unlock the driver door. I'm not losing power ever, I can't really see any particular pattern for when it happens. Sometimes it will hold the settings for months, other times not even a day. Really weird... What is causing it to change on it's own? This is a 2004 V8 with NAV if it makes any difference.
View 7 RepliesWas adjusting some of my settings today. My "Comfort" setting disappeared from the menu. This has happened before. how to get it back? I need to set my door unlock to unlock all including the tailgate.
View 17 RepliesLooks like I erased the Comfort setting in the MFI, I was changing stations at a light and noticed those menus, played with them for a bit and I hit it at factory reset. Since then I have not been able to get the Comfort menu to come up. Is there anything I can do to get it back or will I need to go to the dealer to get it reset?
View 2 RepliesI have been trying to figure out how to increase comfort turn signal blinking from 3 to 5 or more but everything i have seen for T1's and T2's doesn't work. I have looked at other instructions as well from other VW model cars.
View 6 RepliesHow to recode in gateway park assist because someone in the service I thought didin;t mark this option and now I didn't have got pdc in my car even though that I have physically this module in my car and formerly it was working. And another question is : Is it possible to close a windows and sunroof from the key remote control for example when I close my car I want that all windows will close automatic when I press the unlock button on key....
View 1 RepliesMy friend stopped into see me today cause he thinks I'm a VW guru. His LF tire was at 34 psi and the other 3 were at 44psi. Of course his low tire pressure light came on, but he told me he used to be able to see his tire pressure under the comfort portion of his computer display. He scrolled down to show me it wasn't there anymore. Where it went? He now knows why the light keeps coming on cause he has a leak. He should be able to monitor it I presume.
View 3 RepliesAs I was changing my oil last week I noticed that there was a thick, dark green fluid near my front left shock and on the automatic transmission filter. The fluid appeared to be sprayed on the underbody of the car. I am unable to notice any change in automatic shifting or in the front left shock. The photo shows the filter (?transmission filter) on the top, the shock is at the bottom right. This is slightly behind the left front tire. This was not anywhere else under the car and did not appear to be road grime.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to change the automatic door lock setting to unlock the doors when I open the drivers side door not when I shift into park. The manual is vague and I am not having any success at all.
View 2 RepliesThis transmission shifted smooth and strong through all gears until today when it stopped all of a sudden to engage either Drive or Reverse. No previous signs of slippage, hesitation, stalling or lack of power whatsoever.
We checked the linkage to the transmission and it works as intended, nothing loose or broken, everything is in place. If there was something slightly different with it from other similar vans we have then it had a slightly delayed engagement in Drive (it took a second to engage it after you moved the lever) - on all other vans we have the transmission go into Drive almost instantly.
Van is a '92 Pontiac Trans Sport/Chevrolet Lumina APV with the 3.1L V6 Chevy TBI engine with the 3T40 automatic transaxle. Where we should start tackling this issue?
When turning left , I felt that there was a shock from front wheels. The service person told me that it was a differential problem and the controller unit is needed to reprogrmmed. Is it true? When my Touareg ran over the bump, I felt that the front suspensions were not adjusted well. Is it normal?
View 2 RepliesCan not seem to get the memory to work.....?
The dealer is suggesting the module is bad and is ordering one to address the problem.
Cannot get the mirrors to respond to the setting as well?
Having problem with air suspension lowering and rising without changing any settings? Is this normal or maybe I have a leak in my system?
View 10 RepliesI only see highway numbers on the map display, not street names. Is this because it is a CD-based nav system and not DVD-based (my DVD nav system on my Mini Cooper S displays all street names)?
Maybe I am missing a setting?
Key fob press all doors unlock??? Using VAG-COM maybe?
View 3 RepliesI was trailing the other day in "sport" mode and the tranny kept going into 6th gear. Is the only way to lock out 6th is to use tiptronic mode?
View 6 RepliesIs it recommended to completely stop the Touareg before shifing from the Sport mode to the Normal driving mode?
View 4 RepliesI would prefer to drive my treg in sport mode on the air suspension because I find that I get slightly better cornering, etc. However, there are about 8 speed bumps in my normal "to gym and to work" morning drive and 5 on the way home. Some are the big wide new-style speed bumps. Some are the little narrow hard bumps. I usually leave the sus in comfort or auto because of this. Is it "bad" for the suspension to take speed bumps at a fairly good clip with the air suspension? Worse when it's tightened up for sport mode??
View 3 RepliesLately I have been driving in the Sport Mode more often. I have noticed that when accelerating from a stop it revs to just below the redline before shifitng, is this normal?
I also notice that when slowing down or coming to a stop, it has a "hurky jurky" feel. As if it was downshifiting way to early. is this normal?
