Touareg :: Way To Unlink The Fan Speeds?
Mar 22, 2013
I got the temperatures to be different on the driver and passenger sides but is there a way to unlink the fan speeds?

View 2 RepliesI purchased a new 2007 Touareg. At speeds above 80 km/hr, the car is noisy... Is that the norm?
View 2 RepliesLately, Im noting a grinding like feeling at all speeds. Its as if something in the wheels/drive train isn't smooth (like a busted bearing) and there is a low grinding noise that is consistent with the engine revs. I can feel it in the gas pedal and on the shifter when I place my hand on it.
View 2 RepliesI purchased my 2004 Blue-silver V6 Touareg last week. So far all is well. Except for one major problem. I keep hearing a noise under the bottom when I am at very low speeds. It has an axle-grinding sound to it. Here is my problem -- it comes and goes. I took it back to the dealership and they heard nothing. I drove it for a day later and heard nothing. But once again the noise came back --- last night and this morning. Keep in mind -- I am not using the sportshift or offroading drives--I'm just driving on the interstate and as I exit off an come to a slow stop -- "I hear this weird axle noise under the bottom".
View 3 RepliesIs there a way to override the air-suspension lowering in Off-road level when going at speeds over 43 mph?
View 3 RepliesBrought my Treg in for service today for a host of things:
Grinding/Scrubbing when turning at low speeds. TPM Pull to the right/Alignment/Uneven tire wear.
Limited remote range
Drivers side whistling noise when fan speed at 3-4 bars and windows are closed
Service Advisor tells me the Transmission Control Module is the cause of the scrubbing/grinding at low speeds. I have seen the posts with respect to the Stepper motors.
V6 Touareg, Sunroof, roof racks (locked together at rear.) At certain speeds (40-45mph) there is a loud vibration on the roof. If the sunroof is opened or raised, the vibration stops. Nothing visible on the roof or sunroof which would suggest the cause of the noise.
View 4 RepliesExperienced a wind noise that is very irritating at above 40mph?I am by no means being nit picky about either,it's very loud. The sound is best described as wind whistle. The frustrating part is that it is hard to pin-point and a search here turned up ....
View 11 RepliesSince purchasing my T-Reg, I've heard a cranking sound, from what I assume is the rear diff at speeds from 1-5 mph. I only really hear it when I'm turning int a parking spot or parallel parking. I know the rear diff will spin the wheels at different speeds and I know at low speeds there can be some noise, but, since most passenger suvs don't have rear diffs, and some level of engineering has removed that nuisance from center diffs, it's not heard of to much. Is this something I need to have looked at?
View 5 RepliesWhat this might be. I have a rattle type noise coming from behind the glovebox. It is only there at low speeds and driving on poorly paved roads. It is definitely not in the glovebox. It has been driving me crazy for some time now...
View 3 RepliesI have a 04 v6 model , in the last couple of months when I am on the interstate at about 75-80 mph. I get a very loud vibrating noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The dealer thinks the drive shaft has some play in it.
View 6 RepliesOK here's a new one (for me anyway). My Reg started to produce a squeaking noise from the chassis. I can't tell exactly where its coming from (yet) but it seems to occur mostly at slow speeds. I can reproduce the noise by driving over a speed bump or making a slow speed turn. I suspect an exhaust hanger as it seems to happen front and rear. I cannot reproduce it by bouncing on the corners of car though.
View 3 RepliesI just did a 2000 mile round trip in my treg...what an awesome highway vehicle. The air suspension is supposed to lower at speeds over 76 mph I believe. I was running at 85 to 90 most of the time. Any indication of the lowering in the display? I really couldn't tell if it was happening or not. Does it lower in all suspension modes, i.e comfort, auto etc? It didn't seem to raise upon slowing.
View 15 RepliesI got my Egg on 8/5/03. I have almost 10,000 miles on it, and other than an assorted rattle and a persistent shimmy in the wheel at certain speeds, despite rebalancing and rotation at 7,000 miles, I love it. It's quick, handles very well, and rides great. It's a topic of conversation everywhere, and while this is a matter of opinion and as I value mine I'll give it to y'all, it is one of the best looking SUVs made.
View 10 RepliesMetal on metal rubbing sound when starting off from a stop at slow speeds? It seems like it is brake related because putting on the brakes stops the noise. The noise also seems to go away when you get a little more speed, and maybe when the it shifts from 1st to 2nd ? This also is intermittent.
View 2 RepliesMy 2004 V8 egg is currently at 111,000 miles and I'm starting to have problems that are really cause for concern. Since the blue book value on the Touareg is worthless and I've got it paid off, I might as well keep it until the wheels fall off of it. Anyhow, on to the problem at hand ...
When driving on the interstate at high speed somewhere around 80 - 90 mph and you push the accelerator to get that extra bit of speed out of the downshift so you can pass or just for the heck of it, the transmission starts clunking, LOUDLY, which of course causes you to let your foot off the gas. The clunking continues for about 5 - 10 seconds until the car has slowed down a bit.
I can still get the car up to speeds of around 110 mph (my wife tried it just about 15 minutes ago on our way back from Florida), but it has to be done gradually as to keep the transmission from downshifting.
Around town the car responds fine. Occasionally it will have a hard shift, but I can't find a reason or pattern to that. Fifth gear also works fine in city traffic, I've used tiptronic to keep it in 5th and I've also watched the main display change from D4 to D5 to D6 and back again without incident.
I'm too afraid to take the car up to 90 and then engage tiptronic and downshift to 5th. This transmission has had its fair share of problems. I'm on my third stepper motor, the forward transmission seal had to be replaced and then later the hydraulic pump had to be replaced. There are no noticeable fluid stains on the belly pans and there are no stains on my garage floor, so I doubt its leaking fluid. Can you even check the transmission fluid level in this thing?
Other than the transmission problem, the Touareg is behaving fairly well. (Knock on wood) It still rides nice and I've learned to put up with the little electrical anomalies that happen like the blue strobe backlight compass (it's just dancing along with the music) and the lights switching ON in full daylight (with the euro switch installed).
I have an 06 Touareg V8 with AWD, auto tranny. No leveling suspension. And when I drive it specially while my foot is on the gas at cruising speeds there's a grinding noise coming from under the car. When I step off the gas it is gone or when I am accelerating hard I can't hear it. What could it be? It's driving me and my ocd insane!! I think it is drivetrain related (differential, wheel bearing, etc.) but not the transmission as I can still hear it while coasting in neutral.
View 3 RepliesI did a search and see that this random clicking sound has been discussed but a source never identified. Thought I'd ask again 'cause mine is doing it more often and it's driving me nuts now that I hear it. Mostly at highway speeds, not tied to any particular function or steering wheel turning. It's like a solenoid flipping on and off. I know I could never get the dealer to replicate it and I assume if many Tregs have it, it's just a normal function but thought I'd ask.
View 15 RepliesAbout a month ago my Touareg started making loud rumbling noises at highway speeds. It sounds and feels (it makes the whole truck vibrate) like you're driving on the "wake me up bumps" that are on the shoulder. Some times it last for 30 seconds and other times it goes on for the whole trip. It's driving me crazy; however the dealer can't reproduce the problem so they think I'm crazy. It doesn't do it all the time, however, the only common symptom is it happens at speeds above 65 mph. It has happened when it the car was cold and hot, cruise on and off and variable highway speeds. The transmission was replaced right after I received the car due to a malfunction, so the dealer doesn't think this could be a second faulty transmission.

Problem: Noise or rattle in engine compartment, at low speed (less than 25miles/hour) on uneven pavement (not potholes). Can be replicated over and over.
The dealer acknowledge the noise and has tightened all suspension parts, greased all joints, replace front-right shock and bushings (for some reason the noise is more prevalent on Right side), put some sort of tool with sensors in different areas of the chassis to "hear" noise differences while driving to determine the culprit.
Description: To me, the noise sounds like there is something lose in either the engine compartment or the area where the wipers are located. Sort of like if there was something (plastic maybe) hitting the chassis (only at slow speeds - I cannot hear it when driving faster I guess because of engine and road noise). I have not been able to figure it out.
The noise was present only on another 2007 with 8K miles.
Those of you w/the "sport exhaust" on later 04's and 05's, at 80- MPH ... I get an engine exhaust resonance that varies with throttle. On throttle bad whine, off throttle no issue. Go 75 it's ok. Go 85 it's ok. My dealer hasn't heard of this. Not sure what can be done but on a long trip the drone will drive you nuts.
