My two month old Touareg has a leak! After driving in a heavy rain water accumulated on the front passenger floor. It looks like its coming from the ventilation duct behind the glove box or possibly through the firewall.
View 3 RepliesWhy is the rug on the passenger side of my v10 egg wet. It would appear that it happens after heavy rain....blocked plug somewhere. Have also been using air conditioning alot.... Also could getting egg stuck deep in mud in the spring have anything to do with this...blocked plug?
View 2 RepliesIt's from rain, but only getting to the front passenger floor area. And this just started in the last month. Decades ago I had a VW Rabbit that would get serious water, in all 4 quadrants, in rain or a car wash. But I figured that one out, the "gutter" in front of the windshield was jammed up with dead leaves, once those were cleared, no more water coming in.
So, when this Avalon leak appeared, that was the first area I checked. There was a bit of leaves and twigs, which I cleared away, but the worst of it was on the drivers's side and as I mentioned, no problem there.
When we have a heavy rain water leaks in on both sides saturating the floor board.

View 6 RepliesThere has been on/off heavy rain in northern nj the past week, and i noticed two nights ago that when i am turning it sounds like i have a waterfall in front of the dash. if i am making a right i hear water running towards the left and vice versa. I already searched and found one article pertaining to a "sloshing". the problem: it didnt have a solution.
View 6 RepliesI drive a 2009 Honda Fit (and I am very happy with it). Last week, after some intense rain last week in Greenville, NC, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that there was a puddle of water on the floor of the passenger's side. I looked for a cracked window or maybe a leak from the windshield, but I couldn't see anything; besides, the floor was the only part that was wet (the dashboard, the seat, and the inside of the door were completely dry). Today I took the car in for an oil change to the local Honda dealer and I mentioned the issue to them, and asked whether they could take a look at it. They did and they said they could not find a leak anywhere. Where the water might come from? Is this common? How to prevent it from happening again?

View 4 RepliesWhenever it rains a substantial amount, like all day I go out to my 92 Ranger and get in and notice the passenger side rubber floor mat has a puddle of water on it. I look under the floor mat and only the center of the carpet there is wet. I see it's getting the edge of that side of the headliner wet and ruining the new headliner had redone. I didn't realize there was water leaking until I got my headliner redone and put back in. It very well could have been leaking causing the headliner cloth to all tear. It's wet along the top passenger side where the grab handle is and the plastic trim. I thought it was the rain gutter on top of the roof so I put in some black silicone and some of it stopped but not all.
So I thought it was still leaking at the front corner so I put more silicone in. Don't know yet if that was what it was for sure but I'll find out tomorrow because it's raining pretty good right now. But just in case where else could it be getting this much water in. If you go through a carwash, or hose it down for awhile, or even drive while it's raining bad it won't get water inside. I'm not convinced it's the rain channel 100% because on the driver's side the putty filling the rain channel on the roof looks worse than the passenger side and there's no water coming in on the driver's side. There is no water coming in the back or on the back carpet or headliner.
I don't see any evidence around the windshield. I can't understand why only the middle of the passenger side carpet is soaked and not the top or under the seat, unless it's just soaking through the rubber floor mat and not drying out. It's getting so frustrating because I can't visibly find any evidence, I have to wait until it rains and then I can't see why it happens. It's ruining my carpet and my new headliner. I want to replace the carpet but want the leak stopped first. Where are common trouble areas on these 92 Rangers for water leakage?
I have a persistent leak that causes the front passenger carpet to get wet after a heavy rain. Truck went to the dealer under warranty and they resealed the third brake light. Not sure if it ever fixed the problem, but I probably didn't check it as often as I should have after the repair. We've had a few good rain storms and the carpet is getting pretty wet. Since the truck is now out of warranty (2011 F150) I made a new gasket for the third brake light. I think it's pretty well sealed, so I'm thinking the leak is coming from somewhere else.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2003 BMW 525i. A couple of years ago, after a heavy rainstorm, I found water in the footwell of the backseat behind the driver’s seat. I took my car to a mechanic and he mentioned the door’s vapor barrier and the vapor barrier was resealed. Again a heavy rain storm, back to the mechanic and the vapor barrier was resealed. This has happened three times and I feel that there is a problem somewhere that has been overlooked by my mechanic. Normally, my car is garaged, but when out of town, my poor car is at the mercy of the weather.
View 2 RepliesApparently, VW assumes that if you have a sunroof, you must be willing to tolerate rainwater dripping on your front seats and running inside the headliner. I can accept almost anything, but this is beyond belief.
I have seen a mention or two of water on the floor (and I didn't even check for that), maybe a leaking sunroof before, but I never thought it would happen to me.
We just purchased a 2015 RC350 F Sport for my wife and had it out in some heavy rain today. Water is somehow getting into the trunk.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius. I recently discovered some cold water leaking from behind the center instrument console on to the front passenger side floor. It only leaks when the A/C is running and there doesn't appear to be any difference if running with fresh air or recirc air. I removed the plastic covers from that area to look around. There is cold water dripping from the bottom of the metal tube that goes behind the console and into I guess an A/C component. The water is not running down the tube as the tube itself is dry. So, I'm wondering if this may be condensation on the A/C unit? Also is there a drain tube that may be clogged or something like that?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2005 Chevy Equinox that has developed an odd issue. For about a month, after a good rain, I have a puddle of water in the floor carpet of the front passenger side - while parked. It develops from the center of the car to about the middle of the floor below the seat. So since that is the case I don't think the side window is leaking but I have looked for signs of water coming in. Nothing. The windshield was replaced about 5 years ago but again, no signs that water is coming in from there either. It can't be from the bottom of the car, right? I mean it happens while it is parked, so that doesn't make sense.

I cleaned it up thinking the sunroof may not have been closed all the way at the dealership when they washed it. I drove it today in the rain and the front passenger side is wet again next to the console and near the seat. Where are the drains located at?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2009 Tiguan and after my car sat out overnight in a heavy rain I noticed a very odd thing today. Like normal the car smelled a little musty, something I've gotten used to after a rain. But I think I've found the cause. I hit my brakes hard to try to stop the squeakiness (another normal quirk after the rain) and I heard water running in the back seat. I looked back and saw water running on the floor beneath the passenger back seat. I hit the brakes hard again while looking back and watched it pour out of the other side beneath the plastic strip beneath the seat. I pulled over and looked and there are these little black channels underneath there where I believe the water came from. What are those and where is that water originating from? Is this normal?!
View 2 RepliesHave a 05 Explorer and every time it rains, water gets in and soaks the front passenger side floor. It only happens after it rains and happens even if it is not driven. I am pretty sure there is a drain line plugged up someplace from the cowl, just not sure where it is. The toe kick seems to stay dry but the floor gets soaked.
View 4 RepliesIn my 07 ES350 I had water on the carpet of the drives side all the way to the backseat! I was gone for a coupla days when this happened and with the heat it sure did have a musky odor when I opened the door!
I have looked all around the sunroof and cleaned the edges could not see anything that would leak although under the sunroof at the front there was water in the tray.
Then I looked all around the windshield. Could not see anything that could cause a leak. Lightly hosed off the car today and had water dripping down the driver side pillar and the covering for the pillar was wet.
This car has never had a leak anywhere until now. Gonna have to have the carpet removed and steam cleaned I guess to get rid of the odor, but not until I stop the leak!!!!
My 2010 'reg started getting water soaking into the headliner after several hours of heavy rain today. I did a little searching and found the following TSB: [URL] .... . I'm not sure if it would apply to mine since it states its for 2004-2006.
