Touareg :: V6 With EP1 Or V8 Base?
Jan 5, 2005
I'm thinking of purchasing, but I'm torn between a V6 with Equipment Package I (headlights/300-watt radio) or a base V8.

View 22 RepliesReplacing the antenna base on the roof? I have looked at the DIY for a Golf and those make it seem easy but on the R32 there is a metal piece running along the roof which doesn't allow you to access the wiring for the antenna base to disconnect the wires. How to remove this metal piece or disconnect the wiring?
View 11 RepliesI have a 2012 PiP Base. Wondering if there is a post for this. Is it worth it? Will it work? Better light output? Less battery usage? etc?
View 19 RepliesGetting the metal mirror base off the rest of the assembly? My mirror fell off the windshield, probably due to a poor glue job a few years ago when the windsheild was replaced. Now for the life of me, I can't get the black metal base off the rest of the mirror to glue it back on. It looks like there are a couple of small holes for a pin spanner, but I've tried that and nothing budges.
View 6 Replies(1994 Volvo 850 2.4L L5 Base) whenever i accelerate i get high RPM's but now actual acceleration. i cleaned the MAF and it worked for a short time then it began happening again. so i ran the codes and i got back A1- 121, 131. A2- 121, 121. A3- 141, 142, 213, 214, 311, 312. A6- 131.
View 4 RepliesWe want to buy a Premium, but the interior color we want is only available on the Base. We want black on black available on the Base. The only black in the Premium includes the fake wood trimming. If we go with a Base we want to know what we are giving up.
I'm finding it quite difficult to finding a listing of the differences on a feature-by-feature basis between the Base and Premium models. There are general marketing terms but I'm not convinced it represents the complete delta.
1998 base model, 3.1, about 232,000 miles on it.
purchased at about 45,000 miles and always had a slight "hissing " noise when I apply the brake.
Yesterday the car was parked on a very slight incline. Emergency brake was applied. a/c was on . I returned about 5 minutes later and heard a "hissing" type of sound. It seemed to be coming from under the dash on drivers side.
As I put my foot on the brake and shifted into reverse the noise stopped. Today at various times I have the same noise.
I've owned at least 40 cars in the last 50 years and this car has the very worse brakes of all . I've tried all types of pads, etc. The rear cylinders rebuilt about 150,000 miles ago. Master cylinder is original.
I am interested in a 2004 and wanted to know if I add the curt hitch .. Or maybe oem one Has the curves cover and not notched or flat does that mean it should be made after 5/2004 and could use the hitch that is tubular? Not sure if the curt version matter for any of these
Also I heard they may be prewired for towing, how to look for besides the trans cooler, if they don't have this then it seems too much work.. and I should stay away?
Also doesn't have nav, so I wanted to know if it is harder to add aftermarket screen to non nav than one with factory nav?
It seems like this is a base trim do you know in 2004 what feature might be missing from this base model That I am "missing out" on?
Found a pic of the actual car under bumper built 9/04 Does it look normal. I think I see the towing wiring box there.. was the hitch port installed option? But it looks like it's ready for one.
I have 2007 Camry base model 4 cyl. I went into the grocery store with my wife and kids and returned to car with no power. I turn the key and nothing happens. The dome light can turn on but its weak. the only dash lights that come on are the oil light and the key with the car picture.
I bought a new battery for it and still nothing. I had it towed to my house and currently trying to find as much info as possible on it. So again I turn the key, no lights on the dash except for oil for a second... then nothing no turning over, no clicking..
My thoughts are cable wires or fuses?
I just found an almost new set of base carrier bars for my 2004 Passat Wagon at an estate sale. They were still in the original box, but the mounting instructions were missing.
View 4 RepliesI just noticed today that the piece that connects the rear wiper to the window is rusting. It is only 1.5 years old, so seems odd to be rusting already. I'll be taking it in for an oil change soon, so will get it looked at and see what they say.
View 18 RepliesI was parking today and when i looked up my CEL was on. So I got the code pulled and it turns out I'm running lean with a base one. I think it was? the mechanic told me it was my o2 sensor but I'm not sure which one it may be whether it be before or after the cat?
View 5 RepliesI just bought an 2008 Highlander Base 2WD yesterday and have noticed a vibration while driving during certain instances. Unfortunately it is not constant and I haven't been able to make it happen on purpose. When it does happen, it occurs a second or two after I accelerate and take my foot off the pedal (when I'm not pushing the gas or slowing down). It's like the car is deciding which gear to be in...the whole thing just vibrates for 2-3 seconds.
View 28 RepliesMalibu no start issue. It cranks, but will not start until she presses the gas pedal to floor. When it does start, it is a very low Idle but smooth. as soon as she lifts the gas, the car dies. Kinda like ran out of gas.
View 3 RepliesHave a 2002 malibu base 3.1 v6 that will not start. Battery charged, motor cranks, pump pumps 52psi at the rail, pink wire to injectors has 12v, fuses good, injectors click when jumped manually but not when starting. CPM is not grounding the six individual injectors to open nozzles. Bad CPM or is there another sensor I should look at?
View 14 RepliesSo I recently bought a 2002 volvo s60 base sedan with a dead instrument cluster. I sent it out to be repaired and when I got it back and plugged it in, it did not work. At first I thought it was the company who repaired who messed up, but I looked up the numbers on the cluster and it is out of a 2001 Volvo. I have no way of contacting the previous owner to find out if they tried swapping out the cluster with one from the junkyard, or if they have the original cluster.
I don't know what to do because I cant send the cluster back to the company since I don't know if its the original one or not. Is there any way I can find out what the original numbers are on my cluster. Is there any way to find out the original numbers on the cluster using my vin number? I called the volvo dealer and all they gave me was the part number for a new cluster.
I've noticed a lot of small leaves going down the small vented drain holes at the bottom of the rear window but cant find a way to remove the cover and clean out what must be years of accumulated rubbish .
View 3 RepliesA few weeks ago I purchased front doors to go on my 02 X. I never gave the keypad a thought.....
These are new Super Duty take offs, not southern rust-free...so I paid a pretty penny for them and really want to use them...not go on the hunt again...
Having just noticed that the left door doesn't have the cut out for the keypad..Like I can still use the doors and have the keypad???
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE sedan (base model) with a 3.4L engine at 142Kmi that was just diagnosed with an intake manifold coolant leak by an independent shop.
I've done some googling and found that this is a known problem with this engine (including a class action suit). So far the leak is just external; no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant.
I just realized that my power steering fluid is leaking. It is reddish color and it is at the base of the windshield on the passenger side. my car has 40k miles. Is this normal and is this considered as power train and is it still under warranty. This really sucks to think that I bought the Camry for reliability.
View 14 RepliesI recently installed a DDM Tuning HID kit. Since then it's always been making a strange sound when I turn the HIDs on (but the lights are working fine).
The relay base is physically vibrating and making a strange sound, see the video below:
DDM Tuning HID Kit Relay Rattling - YouTube
What is the problem and how can I fix it? I'm not sure if this is safe or not! I did the install correctly.
