View 1 RepliesHow to disable the "accept" button EVERY time you turn the car on? Or the Seatbelt dinger -without latching seat belt?
or why the car has such a jerky shift and braking to it with regards to the gear box? V8 T-reg?
Is there any way to get rid of the chimes that sound then the car is on and the driver's door is opened? I have found the VAG instructions for getting rid of the ignition switch chime and seat belt chime but not the light switch chimes.
Whenever the switch is in the left (off) position and I open the door with the car running, it chimes every second... not bad. But, when the light switch is in the middle setting (automatic lights) and I open the door, it gives off a very loud prolonged beep and says "Side Light Is Switched On " in the MFI. This only happens at night when the DRLs are off and the system turns the full headlights on. During the day when the car is using DRLs, it jus does the intermittent chimes like the off position.
This is extremely annoying... any way to just turn all the light warning beeps off?? If you don't know the beep I am talking about, put your car on and lights in the right (on) position and then open the driver's door... heard that loud screech?? That is what I am talking about. Only, that sound also happens when the lights are in the middle (auto) position and it is night time.
By changing the region for the instrument cluster in Module 17 (VAG-COM) to Europe or UK, it removes the accept screen. Well, I did that, and it works, but then immediately I get the ABS light on and the ESC doesn't work, and then the parking brake light goes on and says there is a fault. If I change it back to US or Canada, everything is back to normal. I'm just tired of having to press "accept" every time I start the car and want to use my steering wheel controls for volume and such.
View 3 RepliesFirst and foremost, I love my Touareg....when it works!!
Problem # 1 : I have had it at the VW dealership in Pensacola, FL 7 times to fix the flat tire sensor. They can't/won't fix it. Once you start the car and get rolling it will go off. It will go away and come back on several times for the first few miles. I have also noticed that after temp changes it becomes more sensitive. I have checked the manufacture's tire suggestions and they are dead on.
Problem #2 : The battery will die if the car is not driven in a day or two. I just had the battery replaced a month ago and thought that it was the issue. I have checked to make sure that I do not have any accessories plugged in and it still happens...i.e. car phone charger, ipod, radar detector.
Problem # 3 : This maybe in conjunction with problem 2. I just recognized that the information display above the steering wheel will not turn off when the car is locked and not in use. This just started and will surely drain the battery.
Problem # 4 : The navigation system comes on-line when the vehicle is started. It asks for the user to input an agreement at the beginning of each start. The navigation will no longer accept any inputs. The volume work for the radio and that's about it.
Problem # 5 : The steering wheel controls for the display will not work. When you try to page through the information display on the steering wheels right hand corner it does nothing. The rolling wheel for the radio on the steering wheel also does not work.
I have had so many problems with my ride that I am ready to light it on fire. It looks great in the driveway and that's about it. I realize that the majority of my problems are possibly connected.
In December I purchased an 04 Touareg and LOVE the car(hate the tires but that's another discussion). I read an article on club touareg about a product VAG-COM that could disable the seatbelt chimes? How this is done, do I need to purchase something?
View 1 RepliesI love my V8 but the thing beeps every time i breathe. Is there a way to turn off some of the beeps/chimes/ or turn down the volume?
View 24 RepliesAm I loosing it or does this car have an abundance of chimes, gongs, ding-a-lings and buzzers? Every time I start the car I get 4 audible chimes. My wife cannot stand to drive the car any longer.
View 12 RepliesAccording to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

If you're in a snow storm and you begin to hear a very annoying occasional intermittent beeping, you probably have park assist and the snow is covering the sensors. Shut off the park assist (button with yellow "P" on dash) before it drives you......
View 24 RepliesI love my V8 Treg...one squeak that is troublesome...quickly releasing the brake pedal causes an annoying squeak... what I might do to resolve the issue?
View 1 RepliesIf I make a right turn at anything above a snail's pace, my emergency brake light comes on and it chimes. Had the brakes checked and they are fine for now but since they are original, they will need to be replaced soon. The car has 50,000 miles. Recently had the cam sensor replaced and the dealership checked the car over.
View 6 RepliesI have that annoying squeal when I start my car and when I turn my steering wheel (also noticed I can't turn the wheel very well as it feels dodgy, as in the belt catches then lets go if that makes sense). Now once the car warms up it usually doesn't happen again but obviously I want to rectify this as my car draws enough attention at start up but this is getting ridiculous. I checked my power steering fluid and it's bad, brown and has some sediment so it needs changing for sure but here's my problem;
How do I check things to make sure I don't get ripped off at the mechanic? I'm sure a power steering flush and re-tightening of the belt will probably fix it as I've only but 40K on the belts since ikilledbarbie and I changed all of them out. Whay I don't want to have happen is go in and hear "oh you need to replace XYZ" when the problem really is only ABC if you catch my drift.
How to disable the "I AGREE" button that appears every time the car is started? I have seen other posts that refer to this issue on other non GX models, and take about putting the system in "simple mode" by pressing the SCAN button eight times, then the REPEAT or another button after that. I have tried this on my 2006 GX but with no luck. After I put the audio system into CD playing mode, I press the SCAN button repeatedly and quickly but all it does is scan the audio tracks.
The only other thing I know about my GX is that it is still on its original nav software, and is scheduled to receive the update which my Lexus dealer says is coming out in October. Not sure if this affects its ability to bypass the "I AGREE" screen, or if the software update will affect it either.
What does it mean when the ac button blinks nonstop? I replaced the ac air filter behind the glove box which was filthy but ac still doesn't blow cold air.
View 1 RepliesMy info screen will display all info but the clock will reset over and over and the. Buttons will not respond?

Any way to disable the initial start up screen on a 2013+ that tells you "Drive safely and obey traffic rules....." then has a "continue" button to select?
View 5 RepliesI just received a 2010 Camry XLE V6. The problem is such: no matter what I do, I am unable to input or enter an address into the built in GPS. the "ADDRESS" button is greyed out and not clickable.
I can't enter an address (123 W. Whatever Street, Anywhere, USA) to put in something for the address book, home location, "drive to" etc.
The Toyota dealership guy said, "something is definitely wrong"
the whole car and built-in unit work fine with the exception I cannot enter an address because the button on the on-screen display/menu is greyed out and unclickable ...
I just got a new 2013 Camry SE with the basic (non-nav) touch display and the Galaxy S3 registers and will play music and display the artist and track name most of the time. However, I have no option of looking at the artists or selecting albums. The right and left buttons on the wheel controls do nothing, and I can only skip forward and backward one track.
On page 54 of the display manual, it shows a browse button that is not there on my screen. I cannot get track lists of any kind. I should also note that the song progress bar is not displayed as it is in the picture.
Is there a certain app that I can use that would make the phone more compatible? I'm a bit shocked that a phone as commercially successful as the S3 is not working properly with a 2013 vehicle.
Snowed for the first time since we've had the Touareg and my wife called to tell me the car keeps beeping at her and this keeps showing up on the screen. Is this because she didn't clear snow off of the bumper / sensors?I realize it has to do with the parking assist feature so that is why I wonder if it is a snow issue blocking the sensor.
