Touareg :: Truck Not Releasing Key Upon Shutoff

2011-2012 Touareg had issues where the truck does not release the key after you shut off the ignition? We're having this problem about every ~5 or so times we shut down the truck.

I have to restart the engine and turn it back off before it releases.

Am I doing something wrong with my touch, or is it a known problem where I should take it to my dealer.

C/K :: 1990 C1500 305 - Truck Won't Start For 15 Minutes Following Shutoff

I've been experiencing this problem ever since I bought my '90 C1500 305 but its recently gotten worse. After long trips (over 100 mi) the truck refuses (will not even crank) to start for at least 5 minutes following shutdown. Now, it will intermittently not start for 15 minutes following shutdown after shorter (~10 mi) trips unless it gets a jump, which is strange considering the battery is not run down.

I first thought it was a bad contact in the ignition cylinder, but I noticed that the batt voltage would always droop when turning the key to start, so I guess that the ignition is being applied. Now I'm wondering if the starter motor might be bad?

It's a weird problem to have, I am 100% certain the truck will start if its cold. But after a long trip it just flat out refuses, will not even crank.

Prius (Gen 2) :: Pump Moves Water In The Engine For A Few Seconds After Shutoff

When you shut down the car a pump moves water in the engine for a few seconds. Now it is making a grinding sound instead of the usual brrrrrr sound. It seems to keep trying because nothing is pumping. Can I shut down this program? I don't think I need it in my climate area anyway. Is this the unit under the recall I had done last year? Phaeton :: Headlamps Shutoff When Driving Under Bright Street Lights

I have a Canadian imported vehicle that had the Driving lights on all the time. I turned off the DRL with the VAG with no issues. The last few months tho, the daylight sensor (which I believe is at the base of the windshield) has been very sensitive to street lamps and turns my headlamps off briefly. I'm curious if I can VAG this out as well?

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2013 - Engine Shutoff While Driving / Cannot Start

2013 Elantra with 62k miles. I am dealing with a strange issue where I experience sudden engine shutoff and no-crank no-start situation when I attempt to restart. This typically happens during warmer weather (above 95F / 35C).

When the engine shuts off while i'm driving, the following symptoms occur:

-Temperature gauge (all bars) disappear
-Shift level selection disappears from dash
-stability control light is illuminated

During that state, I'm unable to restart the engine (even when the level is in park or neutral). Anytime the attempt to restart, the following symptoms occur:

-all of the above symptoms when engine shuts off
-TPMS light is flashing
-engine does not crank when attempting to restart.
-Unable to move shift lever from Park when key is in ON position, even when depressing the brake pedal (have to use shift lock release to get it out of park into neutral). Trying to start the car in neutral makes no difference.

The car stays in that strange state anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours. After that, I'm able to start the car and drive it for 10-60 minutes, until above issue repeats.

The issue is NOT any of the following:

-Battery
-Starter

I know that some users have reported a similar issue due to a bad inhibitor switch, but with that issue, only the gear selection disappears from the dash (while the temp gauge and other functions remain normal). Could it possibly be a bad ECU?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Vacuum Shutoff For ESOF Hubs?

I am thinking on installing a shutoff in the vacuum line that supplies the hubs so I can use 4LO for backing uphill with a trailer without having the hubs engage. Its either that or a switch to disable the PVH solenoid.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Randomly Dying - Won't Restart After Shutoff?

I have a 2004 6.0 that has been pissing me off to no end lately. I has a random dying/no start problem. If it idles for ten minutes, it'll die sometimes. And if I drive it and shut it off, it won't restart sometimes. I just drove it three hours on Friday, shut it off and it restarted immediately. Drove it around town all weekend and it started fine every time.

Now driving it home and stopped for fuel 45 minutes in, and it won't start. I have all sensor readings in spec except for I have no ficm sync while cranking. I have about 5k miles on new hpop, injectors, ipr valve, icp sensor, oil rail rebuilds, stand pipes, ficm and engine harness and injector harness. No codes either. If it sits for a couple hours it'll start fine. I've wiggled as many wires as I can and it still won't start. I have rpm while cranking on my edge too. Don't know if that would rule out crank sensor or cam sensor.

Prius (2001-03) :: Half Full Battery Indicator / Electric Motor Running After Shutoff

For the last few weeks, it has seemed that the battery gauge on my 2002 has been half full more often than it should. I admit that I have no good science for this determination, but about half the time when I return home from work the gauge shows half full, and it returns to full after about 1 - 2 miles of driving. The car has about 122K miles on it.

Today I took a long drive through some pretty steep terrain toward the New River Gorge in WVA. Round trip it was about 750 miles. On the way home, I got an error on the console. I'm not sure what it was, but on the main display there were three boxes with writing. I didn't read them as I was pulling off to the shoulder. By the time I got there, the warning was gone. I turned the car off and restarted it. Everything looked good and I headed the remaining 10 miles home.

Once home, when I turned the car off, I heard a vibrating noise from (I think) the left side of the hood for about 5 - 10 seconds. I turned the car on again, and there is a vibrating sound, and the same turnoff problem.

Is this the final death knell of my traction battery? I have a 120K servicing due about now. I have been planning a reinvolt battery, but it is a bit of a drive away. Should I consider trailering the car down?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Fuel Tank Leaking After Shutoff Valve Closed - Overflow?

I am scheduled to leave on a trip in the morning. I have installed an 85 gallon in bed auxillary fuel tank. I plumbed it in as per the instructions and the same as the last two I had in other trucks. After install I pumped 25 gallons in the aux to see how it worked. Every thing worked right. So yesterday I filled both tanks to the top and left the shutoff between them open.

This morning I noticed a puddle of diesel on the shop floor. Wiped it up and left for the golf course. Got home and found another puddle. I have closed the shut-off valve but it still seems to be leaking. It is not the plumbing I installed. It's hard to tell because I have a protector around the tank but it seems the leak is coming from the top. I just took a short run down the highway and reparked it. I have a can't miss appointment so when I get back I'll see how much has leaked.

Is there some kind of overflow on top the tank? Everything is dry where the aux tank is plumbed in and the air pipe seems to be fine. If the leak stops with the shutoff closed then I'm just gonna head out but if not then I'm gonna take down the shield and see what I can find, but I'd sure rather not.

My oil smells like gas, and the truck isn't running right. Sounds like a cylinder isn't firing...but no error message in the MFI. Crap. This is not going to be pretty. Should I have her towed to the dealer or just drive it?

Ford Fuel System :: 1990 E250 - Fuel Shutoff Switch Not Activated?

My '90 E250, open road, mini motorhome , says on the radiator mount , that there is a Fuel shutoff switch that may have been activated.... I don't have the manual for it, so I need finding the switch, so I can reset it ....The vehicle sometimes starts after about 2 mins with the ignition on, but today won't start, even after a longer wait. Both tanks are full...Fuel gauge not working , in either front or rear position. I can hear the rear pump,in the tank, but can not hear the front one....When I bought it last year, it ran fine after waiting to start, and both positions worked , no stalling , or shutdown.Came home about 95 miles, and it's been parked almost all the time since. I want to start it up weekly , but am having that same problem ...Today was the first time I could see the Fuel Pump Shutoff warning ...but can 't find the darn switch to try resetting .....

Touareg :: Rubbing Noise Coming From Right Hand Side Of Truck

I have a noise coming from the right hand side of my truck. It sounds like something is rubbing against something. Its not a squeak, but its close to it and only happens when i am coasting. It seems to slow down a bit when I apply the brakes and when I accelerate it does not make that sound.

I checked under the car and in the wheel hole; its nothing visible i don't think. I also know that its not the dashboard and not the AC. It just happened all of a sudden, I'm at about 11,000 miles.

Just recently bought a 04 greg with 35000 on it one owner pretty much brand new. Its starting to get cold over here in va but I notice the temp gauge wasn't moving when warming truck up. After sitting for 25min it was still at 150 degrees. So I drove home about 10 mi away an when I got home it had just started to move up. This can't be normal.

Passat (B6) :: Key Fob Is Not Releasing All The Way From The Slot?

I am new to VW. I have a 06 4mo and last week and then again today the key fob is not releasing all the way from the slot. It releases enough to not run the accessories but obviously I can't lock it like that. I tried turning it on and off, (PUSH IN AND OUT OF THE SLOT) moving it side to side a little/up and down and even move the steering wheel and re parking it... NOTHING..

I went in my house came back out about 15min later tried to just release it.. no release.. then moved it into Drive moved forward a few feet and reversed back into my spot and it released. Is this related to any other issue, I am taking it in for the parking brake light setting itself all of the sudden when i put it in park and i haven't touched it.

Phaeton :: Latch On Hood Not Releasing All The Way

I had problems this morning opening my hood, the latch was real tight so pulled it and it released but not all the way. I tried opening the hood but it's stuck and won't even closed either. It's there a trick or some other lever I'm missing? I never had to do it before.

BMW :: 2008 - Stalls Upon Releasing Gas Pedal?

I had a question about a weird symptom that my 2008 BMW 528i is having. When I take my foot off the gas pedal when I'm going 10-30 mph, the car seems to brake/stall momentarily. It almost feels as if the car is jerking for half a second. If I slowly let off the gas pedal this doesn't happen. It also doesn't happen at high mph.

My dealer said this is normal but I have never experienced this in all my time driving a Tacoma or accord. Wondering what could possibly be wrong with the car.
