Touareg :: Started Right Up When Parked For 5 Days But More Valve Noise Than Usual

I did a few searches with key words, engine, valves, and knock but didn't come up with any info. I know the reason the valves and engine noise is louder than usual is because the oil has had ample time to gravitate to the bottom of the engine. I remember reading some where that the knocking valves when starting up was normal for the Touareg, but can't find the post.
My question is, the engine is too noisy when cold starting? The knocks go away in less than a min or so, but I haven't had a vehicle make such valve noise when cold starting, except older cars that needed valve jobs... Other than the start up knocks.. it sounds and drives great..

2005 has 130,000 trouble free miles. Recently during a long trip the engine started to make more noise than usual. This occurs during acceleration up until the point when you hear the engine really start to work.
I took the car to Toyota and they said it sounded normal. I am picky about my car and know a new noise. My wife even said she can hear it.
I think it sounds a bit like the old lifter rattle my 289 Ford made in my 67 Mustang.

I just had my 90K service done, drove my '04 prius home and parked it for 2 days.
I tried to open the door like I always do (no remote key, just touching the handle) and the car would not unlock.
When I got into the car the GPS screen did not come up, the Info screen and energy consumption screens are also not working.
Before I took the car in for service everything worked fine.
I'm contending that the service people jostled something they should have just jiggled, or possibly jangled something they should have jingled.

I just got back from a 6 day trip and when I turned my 2004 Prius back on I'm getting a check engine light. We did get a fair amount of snow that I had to clean off.
The car runs and starts fine so I'm thinking it is just a bug in the computer after sleeping in the snow for too long.

My Phaeton has been parked in my garage locked for about 10 days and the remote will not open the doors. Additionally the key will not go in the key slot in the door. Not sure why that would be an issue. I can open the trunk but the Alarm goes off when I do that!
What can I do to get in the car. The remote shows a green light so I know that battery is good but and the flashing door lights flash.

I have a 97 mercury sable, we recently replaced the battery, and alternator but there's something draining the battery. The car was not ran for three days, and the battery was dead.

My 1997 chevy suburban wouldn't start after being parked for a few days. the battery seemed to drained out so quickly and not because the lights were left on. The alternator was replaced less than two years ago. and the battery less than a year ago. I tried to jump start but it did now turn orver. What is the problem?

Couple days ago the cab of my truck started shaking some more than usual. Its gotten worse now, however. Happens the worst around 60-80km, light on the throttle just cruising in overdrive, whole cab shakes badly. Chop the throttle and its completely gone, any heavy on the throttle and it's gone as well. Does it loaded and unloaded. Okay at highway speeds but like i said around 70km its bad. I've got my guesses but what really it is?? Truck runs fine otherwise...

I recently put a cold air intake on my car and I could hear the dump when I let off of the gas. But I also put in a boost gauge but I think I had a leak in the hose going to the gauge. After I drove it for awhile the blow off valve started making a flutter noise when dumping. I fixed the leak in the hose but the flutter is still there. How do I fix the flutter? A new blow off valve? Mk4 Jetta 1.8.....

My 2011 Prius has the abs light and traction control light on. The car has sat 4 days I go and start it and the lights are on. Not blinking steady. I just filled the car Friday could it be the gas cap not tight?

I am having problems with my 97 F150 6cyl. A couple of months ago, I noticed the truck after sitting for a few days without being started would not crank. After some trial and error, I found that turning the ignition switch on and off several times did the trick and the truck would crank right up. I was thinking this might be a fuel pump or fuel filter issue but, I'm not sure.
A couple of days ago I was going to drive the truck and did the ignition switch deal as usual and the truck cranked up but, there shortly after while just idling the motor died. I have tried and tried to crank it and it want start back. After thinking on it, I don't know if this is a fuel problem or not, or maybe even the ignition box.

Just got back from a roadtrip. The AC problem is back again, it will freeze on high humidity days and won't allow any air to come out. I had this problem before and i thought the Windshield TSB fix this problem too.. I guess not.
Did some search, seems like the only fix is to cycle the ECON and AUTO to allow warmer air to unfreeze the condenser to allow cool air to enter again. Just want to check to see if the dealer actually fixed it? I mentioned this to the dealership last time and all they told me was "can't produce the problem"..

Well the dealer has had my car for over a week. Battery died after spending 2 days in the garage. Not sure if the alarm was set. Anyway, I am getting the nonsense that the car draws approx. 6 amps when sitting, and a lot less when the alarm is armed. They checked the amp which is not a serial number for which they said has problems. I still do not believe the car draws this much power but this is not the point, I believe all of the control modules should go into the 'sleep' mode at some time.
Tomorrow, I will go down to the dealer and ask them to run the tests in front of me, with the doors locked and alarm armed, and then left unlocked key not in ignition. If there is a high draw on the unlocked scenario I will then asked them to tell me which modules are drawing power and at what level. I will then asked them to duplicate the same scenario with the car armed and locked. Any other test which could be? How long does it take for the various modules to enter the sleep mode?

Its a 06, 80k on it, a few days start making this (thud) noise on the back, if I push the brake and let it go I heard that thud noise, like the rear deferential or the brakes, but not sure.

I just purchased a 99 GA SE, 130K, 3.4L and when we test drove it the horn did not work. Salesman said previous owner disconnected it because it "had a mind of its own". Dealer reconnected horn, I brought it home, parked it in the garage and was startled out of my sleep at 4:30 am by the distinct sound of a car horn...full blast and steady.
After a short and panicked look for the horn (couldn't locate it) I opened the driver's door and smacked, hard, the center of steering wheel. Horn stopped immediately. So, I quickly disconnected the battery to avoid further embarrassment and early morning wake-ups, and that's where I'm at.
I noticed when I tried the horn after picking up the vehicle it didn't take much pressure to activate the horn.

I parked my car (outside) and went on a business trip for three weeks. When I came back last week, when I turned the car on, the brake light and the ABS light were on. And it hasn't turned off since.
The car was working fine and didn't show any sign of troubles prior to me parking it, no funky light was on. What could be the cause? It wasn't driven during three weeks. What could have deteriorated to cause these lights to come on? The car seems to be braking fine.
FYI, before getting to my car last week, after leaving parked for three weeks, I mistakenly pressed the Panic button. And I didn't realize that the Panic button got stuck and was continuously in circuit. And it stayed like this for an hour before I realized what happened and fixed it. Not that I think that it can have an influence on my current problem, but thought I would mention it anyway...

Have a 2007 and everything was running fine all day today. Stopped at home for a few hours and went back out to run a few more errands and my truck started running poorly, dashboard lights were dimming, and the ESC OFF & ABS dummy lights came on as well as the red battery light. Managed to turn around and make it back home. Sounds like my battery needs replacing? Hopefully its just the battery and not the alternator.

I have a 2013 Accent GL AT (Canadian spec). I recently had an oil change in which a Fram Xtra Guard was installed. However, when I reached my first hill with the new oil and filter, it sounded like the cars engine noise was different from before. It had become a low humming noise, almost like it was straining and didn't have enough power and would downshift later than usual. I changed the filter back to an OEM and still have the noise there, but not as bad.

Just came back from lunch and the car seems to be vibrating more than usual. Engine is making some weird knocking noise. I think I also smelled fuel coming from the car. Could it be the cam tensioner?

We have a 2013 Prius v two that is 5 months old. It has NO alarm system. This morning while sitting in our garage the car sounded as if a car alarm went off. The lights started flashing and the horn went off and on for 10 seconds or so. This happened three times over a period of 2 hours. There is no car alarm in this car.
I turned on the car to see if there were any error messages. We are coming up on the 5000 mile maintenance and the indicator for that was on. There were no error messages.
