In the last two weeks I keep getting a squeaki-ish ratter from the back whenever I hit even the slightest bump.
Dealer will look into it next week? I think it has to do with the rear seats.
Lots of squeaking coming from the seat in the past few days. No one sitting in it, no massage or heating/cooling active. Squeaks when I go over the slightest bump or rattle the seat.
View 6 RepliesMy front suspension squeaks very loudly when going over even the slightest of bumps. I've looked at similar threads and have noticed some people replace the entire control arm, some just replace control arm bushings, others change the strut mounts/bearings.
Am I better off replacing all 3 components (control arms, bushings, and strut mounts/bearings) or just doing CA bushings and/or strut mounts? Do control arms normally need to be replaced? Car has 90K miles, and is daily driven year around during the cold Minnesota winter. My knowledge of suspension components is limited.
Figuring out automatic shifter problem, the car only has 56k miles & it has problem (since 30k miles) shifting out of Park or stuck in Park, often I had to use the mechanical override to release it so I can put it in Neutral to start the engine. When placed in Drive, it kind of "floats," does not have the normal confident in-the-gear feel & sometimes it slips out of Drive to Neutral with the slightest bump of the gear shifter when driving or when stopped. When I shift, it does not have a free easy movement, it feels like the cable is restricted by corrosion or dirt, but everything looked good & seem shielded. Took it to a shop & they suggested that I just drive it... I've since put over 20k miles & its getting worse at finding Neutral to start the car with.

View 5 RepliesI have a Gs 430 - 2006. After hitting bumps in the highway big or small it seems like my dash or suspension squeaks inside the car. Since I can hear it so clearly I'm leaning towards its the dash or something behind the dash, It seems to be coming from the drivers side.What could it be?
View 6 RepliesI hit a bump while pressing the brakes for a stop sign (going down hill), and I hear/feel this grinding noise through the pedal right when I hit the bump. I assume it might be the surface after the bump as it happened in the rain and it could be slippery causing the brakes to lock or something. I don't know, I might just be paranoid.

View 6 RepliesDriving home the other day I crossed some railroad tracks. They weren't too bad, but bumpy. I wasn't going too fast over them, had slowed a bit with traffic. As I cleared the tracks and hit the gas, nothing happened. The car hadn't stalled and I didn't hear any noises, but for about a second as I pressed the gas, it didn't go in gear.
I think the engine revved, like it was in neutral. I looked down and the traction control light was blinking, but no clicking noises were heard. After a second it started acting normal again, and I have gone over those tracks again the next day to try to replicate and it didn't happen again. Is this a known issue, traction control kicks in when a bump is hit...but no clicking noise like i usually get on ice/snow? Or should I have it looked at?
My 2010 Camry was great the first two winters. Now after the windshield was replaced this summer, the dash rattles against the windshield when it is below 45 degrees and hitting a bump. The same rattle is heard from one A pillar too. Is this related to the windshield replacement or the age of the Camry? It would to determine if I should get another windshield replacement or wedge foam for rattle abatement.
View 1 RepliesI have a 70,000 mile touring SE which at low speeds( less than 20) has a rattling/clunking noise when hitting any small bump. Can not hear anything at higher speeds. Steers well noise could be coming from both sides. They did replace my transmission at 40,000 miles. Car does not bounce when pushing on it like a strut is bad.
View 5 RepliesI got my 6k HIDS installed yesterday but for some reason they start flickering every time I hit a bump but they stop flickering once the car is stable or just idling on a light. I think the lights flicker because the ballasts are screwed to one of the existing screws on the car and they kind of dangle and nothing else makes it stable which makes my lights flicker. Question is, where did everyone install their ballast or the best place to put them so they wont vibrate?
View 7 RepliesMy car has developed a strange squeak from the front suspension when going over large bumps or speed bumps. Most of the time it only happens when i hit a speed bump with both tires hitting at the same time. It is a slow squeak not very high pitched but shouldn't be happening on a car with stock suspension components and less than 12,000 miles.
Why my car would be doing this, under normal driving conditions i don't hear any sounds. Its just when i go over speed bumps and large bumps on the road. It is also only from the front suspension.
Toyota Tundra 2001 v8 4wd. sequence of events as follows . Changed rack and pinion ,tire rods, had aligned no problem. 135000 miles, on it so it was time to change ball joints upper and lower, and struts on front, and brake pads, aligned, now when I hit a bump or hollow the truck feels like its out of control like it goes side to side too much, on level road no problem, changed shocks on rear, but no difference, new bushings on rack and pinion same thing, could it be control arm bushings? or shocks on front are faulty, how could I check? all parts bought at a well known auto parts store, its driving me crazy, last thing tires scream a little going around corners, like you hear if someone is going too fast, but I am not.

Now going over moderate bump the tires are hitting the top of fender liner. I have tried to use heat gun and pushed the fender a little more up without success. If it involves removing the top fender liner..
View 10 RepliesI had something happened the other day that I have never experienced in any of my Prius' before, I was driving along coming up to a stop lite and the lite changed I tried to make a quick stop and stomped on the brake pedal and pedal got real hard and no stopping! car did not even slow down, luckily no cars where sitting at lite.
View 12 RepliesSo recently my car has been making almost a crunching noise in the front end of my car usually pulling out of the driveway or hitting any type of bump. But it doesn't seem to always happen. It's a louder crunch when it's colder out. It almost sounds like a rusty door being closed/opened rather then a crunch. My car has just about 77k on it and this is the only issue I have with it.
View 16 RepliesI just had vehicle inspected and replaced the wheel hub assemblies on the front Left and Right wheels in order to pass. Now while driving strong shaking occurs occasionally when over 60+ mph or at any time after a hit a bump in the road. have to slow down below 30 for it to stop.
View 6 RepliesI have noticed a serious bump steer or a violent jerking action when hitting a bump in the road. Just over a year ago I replaced ball joints,tie rods, sway bar links (2nd set since cutting off original). I used MOOG components. I was shocked to see the sway bar links loose once again. Is there a certain way to tighten them or is there a better product available. Mostly stock 1999 'ploder with fire wires and scremin demon coil pack.
View 3 Replies2012 SE with 4 cylinder 35K miles. When the front wheels go over a speed bump at a couple of miles per hour I get a noise which sounds like something hitting the floor board of the car. It is a loud single thud. Much deeper and louder than a loose seat would make.
View 7 RepliesThis rattle noise occurs when hitting just about any kind of bump. Sounds like coming from driver side. It sounds like something loose like a washer rattling against something metal. I recently have replaced the radius arm bushings, front springs, and shocks. The sway bar links and bushings look and feel ok. What it ended up being? I have never heard ball joints make such a noise but it wouldn't surprise me if they were in need of replacement.
