If you have turn the engine off if there is a way to close the windows and the side mirrors without putting the key in the lock. Under the steering wheel there are 2 small switches, left and right. When I press the one on the left the light on the steering wheel goes on and off. What the one on the right do???

View 4 RepliesI was noticing this morning, that my left front and right rear windows didn't work. Also each of my two side mirrors would only adjust to the left but not to the right. When I try to do the non-working windows the dome light would dim a little bit when I push the button, but no sound or anything.
This is an intermittent problem. They usually work, but sometimes they don't.
There's a light under both side mirrors that is supposed to light up when the car is unlocked or when a door is open. However, my lovely Egg doesn't do this. Is there a button on my space ship that i have to push?

View 11 RepliesMy car has a bad whistle sound from the sidemirrors if I travel at over 40mph, I heard someone else had the same problem and the dealer fixed it but putting something on the mirror.... is there a TSB on this? I'm going to the dealership next week and i would like to see if he can fix it. List of things I have.
- Sometimes when i enter my car and start, my seats don't move back to the previous setting....... I had to hit "1" to get it to move back. it fails 3 out of 10 tries.
- Wind noise from the side mirrors, especially when over 40mph..... whistling sound.
- dash vibration when the weather is cold.... Not sure about this one.
- See if the dealer will turn off my DRL for me.
I believe it is a great feature to automatically adjust the side view mirrors downward when the car is put into reverse. One question, Does the passenger side mirror the only mirror which adjusts downward? My drivers side mirror does not move at all.
View 4 Replies I have a high pitched squeal coming from the back windows during operation. I am pretty confident it's not the window assembly itself (linkage, track, etc in the door), but rather the weatherstripping type material that physically lays against the glass at the bottom of the window opening on the door. This happens in both up and down directions of the window.
It DOES NOT squeal when the material is wet, and thus is the reason that I've been able to pinpoint the cause. It's likely that the window channels could be contributing to this as well. The problem is...I don't know how to solve this without applying a lubricant that will smear/streak my windows.
I've already taken clean rags and wiped both the inner and outer portions of this material to remove dirt and dust that they gather...no change in the noise. Is there a way to "condition" the material so they will soften up, without leaving a residue that will streak the window?
I garage, but on two occasions, once left out overnight, other at the airport for a week, the side windows were frozen shut. After the Treg warmed up, they would open, but seemed to be frozen at the bottom weatherstrip. Are others having this problem? I love this truck !
View 4 Replies-1 (-20 wind chill) here in South Bend this morning, and the Touareg did not like it. All but the drivers door frozen shut. All power windows frozen shut. Defective tyre warning went off once, and then check tyre pressure has stayed on. Wonder what She would do to me if She was not in a garage. The heated seats worked great, how I would have loved to have the heated steering wheel this morning.
This weather is heading East, hope you all on the coast are ready.
I let a freind, Phaton owner, drive my Touareg this morning and he showed me that one can select band and channel from the control dial on the steering wheel. I can't seem to find details in my manual. Looking for operation details?

View 2 RepliesI've got a 2002 jetta. new ecu, new cluster, new keys (new to me from a 2010 beetle) all installed but my windows, door illumination, locks and electric mirrors dont work. Windows will go up and down with key in door, and locks work that way as well. if i put my old cluster back, everything works fine.
View 3 RepliesAll at once my power locks and windows on all doors and the power mirrors quit working. The Driver Info center also says "Unknown Driver" when I start the car. After that happened the check engine ligth came on and when I went to get that checked there was no power to the ODB port (not sure if it is related or separate). Also, the brake, ABS, and traction control lights are on...they have been so I'm sure that is a separate issue.

I know the door harness and therefore the dash harnesses will be somewhat different. I'd like to see if there is a difference in the other ends where they connect to under the dash.
Looking for the wiring diagrams for those components so I can see what else I need to change?
2010 SEL with projector headlights. Dash warning light comes on and passenger side headlights stop working - both high and low beam. Then light will go out and headlights start working. Jumps back forth and during the day between working and not working.
View 6 RepliesYesterday I ran my batteries down and had to have my 2003 F350 jump started. The truck started find, and the battery is retaining its charge, but after the jump i lost my power windows, instrument panel (speedometer, gauges, odometer), dome lights, radio, and power mirrors. I have checked all the blade fuses and they are all fine. I have noticed in the past that occasionally it takes a few seconds for these things to come on line after I start up, but this was very rare and the functions always came on line shortly. What the problem could be?

When I drive the truck and give it gas everything works. Let off the gas and I lose everything. Sometimes after about 20 minutes of hey driving it will stay on. Also when first starting the truck the gear selector won't let you out it in gear. After about 30 seconds it will go
