As it's gotten colder, I've noticed my roof interior seems to be popping/squeaking, like really cold plastic shifting - hard to explain but when it's warmer, say > 40, I don't have it at all.

I am looking for the part number for the rear drivers side window sweep/weather stripping for the interior. I think some adhesive from the old tint got on it and it is squeaking. When I wet it with windex, it stops the noise but I can see lines where it's touching the window.
My 2007 ES UL has started to peel at the edge of the glass of the rear roof panel. It was originally just at the rear corner and I assumed it must have been scratched and the due to dryness started to peel. Then I noticed it at the other rear corner. I asked them to look at it at the dealer and the service advisor told me it was from the UV rays which dried it out, and not to worry about it. I bought and applied einszett gummi pflege stift to those corners and all seemed well.
Now that it got colder here in NY the corners again began to pop up but today I see it's started to pop out very much in the middle of the panel which seemed fine before!! The SA had told me that this (gasket, molding) comes attached to the roof and to fix it I'd have to replace the panel! I'm scared my UL is sick of the panoramic roof just for show and wants to be able to open.
Went on a trip up to MI in cold and snow, and the engine light comes on. Great, I'm thinking, figuring me, the wife and our two babies stranded in another quality VW product. We pull over and call the closest dealer on the cell, and they say to just ignore it unless its flashing. When I got home, I vagged it and it says the cats were below their operational limit - I'm guessing too cold?
Whats the deal here? Can I look forward to engine lights everytime I go out in the cold? (this car is slowly driving me nuts. How can it be so bad and my Audi so good?)
When I turn off the car I can smell some paraffin-like fume and sometimes also even see a white-blue smoke coming from under the engine. This only happens now when the outer temperatures have fallen here to Zero Celsius. I didn't see anything similar earlier when it was warmer!
I also can hear some weird buzzing sound for about 2 minutes coming from the areas of the left and right front wheels. I've put on winter tires yesterday and found nothing wrong there in wheels area. I am thinking about a fuel pump/pipe or perhaps something with AC/heating, or oil burning... Or is that OK?
Or is this something releated to the diesel particulate filter? I was driving just some short city distances last days....
Where exactly is located the particulate filter?
Our late '04 touarg has been experiencing an intermittent tpms failure. Seems to occur only during sub-20 degree farenhiet whether and only when the 'egg is cold (i.e. parked outdoors or in an unheated garage) and generally occurrs shortly after starting/driving the car. Message we receive states that the system has failed (not flat tire/defective wheel/etc). The fault will then clear itself after around 10 minutes. Any solutions?

View 4 Replies2004 V8 - ~62k did the 60k service about 2 months ago. No other problems other than tpms not liking 50 degree swings in temperature. Haven't really had time to examine it, but wife left work this morning at -18F said she was getting a weird smell, no lights, a little smoke when she was stopped. I thought nothing of it.
Went to the garage to leave for work and it was like a dingy night club, fog/smoke everywhere and a strong smell of burning oil. Its supposed to warm up to 20 or so tomorrow, so I'm hoping whatever started leaking seals up.
I have a rattling noise coming from rear passenger seat. More noticible in cold weather and over bumps.
View 6 RepliesIn the morning (especially when very cold outside) when I back up my car out of the driveway and then put it in D, turn the steering wheel 85% it sounds and feels like the front is "sliding" and making a little noise. It will only do this the first time I turn the wheel when the car is cold. It does not happen when the car has been driven. Is this normal? is it the drivetrain? The car drives great otherwise and there have been no apparent issues.

View 5 RepliesCutting to the chase i m planning to buy new sonata with panoramic roof but I've read at many places that any car with panoramic roof rattles alot ... i really love panoramic roof but after seeing so many issues with panoramic roof i am very disappointed .... is that really true. .. and I cannot withstand rattles while driving at all nowadays i have chevy trail blazer and i only hate it because it rattles ALOT...i don't want to hear any more rattle specially in a brand new vehicle.

View 6 RepliesI picked up a 09 ls460 swb a few months back and am slowly turning it into my daily.
at an angle causes a loud popping noise from my roof. I checked the headliner to see if anything was loose but came up with nothing. This occasionally happens on sharp turns on uneven ground.
I recently lowered my car so now this is happening way too often.
When driving into a driveway at an angle or over rough roads I have a creaking noise above and behind my head. I tried different positions of the sunroof to see if that eliminated it but to no avail.

I previously reported to the dealer as a sunroof issue but now I detect that it's coming from the headliner behind the sunroof. It seems that the lining is loose. How I should approach the dealer to explain this? Am I using the right jargon? All my rattles have been eliminated bar this one and it drives me nuts!

I don't know if there are clamps down in there that have fallen out or if the molding just needs to be clamped back in. Picture is below.

My sc430 is giving a loud pop right over passenger's side from roof, whenever my car goes over a bump or rough road. I think it's where the front hardtop latches are. Only on the driver's side. It's a loud pop sound.
Does this have something to do with the latch, or latch motors, that closes the power roof ? Would it work if I tighten the retractable top by turning the rubber button in the center back of the car, the one that exposes during roof operation as outlined by other posters here?
I am a fairly new 2013 Prius C (Four) owner and I was wondering about cabin noise, specifically plastic clicking and popping. My questions is about, plastic clicking and popping sounds coming from the dash area?
It's hard to pinpoint exactly where but most of the sounds comes from the far left and right corners, close to the window vents where the windshield meets the dash. I do also notice some noise around the middle of the dash as well. This occurs on any type of road condition but is of course aggravated with rougher road surfaces. I don't believe it to be a small piece of plastic bouncing around but more of loose panels or something of that nature but I'm not sure.
