View 8 Replies04 V8 Touareg. The switch for both the fuel hatch and rear hatch dont work. They worked the other day. I checked all the fuses and everything looks good there. I had disassemble the right rear interior panel to remove the CD changer to get at the manual release lever for the fuel hatch.
View 7 RepliesWell I have had my T-Reg for 24 hours and only have one issue. The rear window on the hatch will not open. We read the manual multiple times and it states you just unlock the hatch and than hold the button underneath the wiper and it should open. No luck. Looks like it could be some electrical thing.
View 1 RepliesOn my 04 'reg the rear hatch stopped operating suddenly. I tried the manual release etc and no go. I can hear the mechanism activate when I push on the hatch mounted release (sounds normal) but the door will not budge.
View 1 RepliesWhen I open the doors on my touareg, the rear hatch does not unlock. When I try to program it as an option to open the rear hatch when I unlock the doors, it works for awhile. But, it always goes back to not opening. I recall a few months ago a similar question or post about a solution, like reprogramming something else first or at the same time.
View 23 RepliesI can't get mine to latch. It makes the noise but not catch. Everything looks fine as far as I can tell but it just doesn't catch all the way and won't lock closed. I checked the adjustment bumpers and that doesn't seem to do anything. I can tell it is going all the way closed, but motorized latch isn't catching and pulling the door close.
View 5 RepliesEver since the dealer did some work on my TReg that involved removing the back bumper, and some other side panels to fix a whistling noise (this is a known problem with a bead of glue being left in some wind channel during manufacturing), when I go over a bump the alarm goes off that the rear hatch is open.
I have to slam the rear window 4 or 5 times to get the indicator to go back off. Dealer says I have to bring it in to have it looked at and they give me a rental. I want them to be able to order the fricken part, let me know when it is in, and THEN drop it off to get fixed. Just the sensor being loose possibly?
When it goes off, the picture of the vehicle comes on in the MFI which is annoying, because I can't change to anything else. And when I stop I have to make sure it is off or interior lights stay on.
If Touareg rear hatch actually opens when press the remote or just unlocks? Mine opens only after you touch area above license plate. Also I cant open at all from door switch. Gas Flap also doesnt work from door. I ran output test with vagcom and both the gas flap and hatch work.
View 4 RepliesI notice that not only does the fuel pump primes when the drivers door is opened but also when the rear hatch opens.
View 2 RepliesMy touareg was towed to the dealership a couple of weeks ago for a dead battery again. 11 days later my dealership fixed it along with a list of other problems
My VW dealership's staff handled everything every well. The service manager was both professional and caring, however I did have to bring it back 2 more times due to items left in disaray by the techs.
Anyways, back to the fix....They said it was due to a bad "rear hatch micro switch" Now I've read a lot of about the dead battery issue on this forum & I have never seen anything about the micro switch. Could it be true...did VW really figured it out Or am I just dreaming.
I just had my treg serviced. One of the tsb's performed was the remote antenna fix. Range is much improved but one problem; the center button on the key remote which used to open the rear hatch doesn't work anymore. Now when pressed, the lights flash and the hatch does not open. I checked the comfort settings and they are still set at unlock doors and hatch.
View 5 RepliesHow do you keep the wing in up position all the time? When I manually turn it on at a start, it eventually goes back into auto mode to where it only pops up at speed. I know there is a way to override this mode and have it up all the time.
View 14 RepliesT-reg is at the dealer and told it won't be back for at least a week. I noticed water in the rear cargo area under air compressor after rain. Also, rear wiper makes a terrible noise when turned on. Was told that replacement parts are not local and would take at least a week.
Noticed vibration from the steering column area when coming to a stop at a traffic light? Be sure to check your cargo areas!!!
Whenever I start the car at the moment, the rear view and wing mirrors are both in the dimmed position and I have to press the button under the rear view mirror to clear them to normal operation. Why this is happening? I can't find anything in the FAQ which covers it.
View 2 RepliesWhen shutting down/removing the key all doors unlock (not just the driver side - which is the norm in the CC and other previous VWs). Selecting "Drivers Only" via settings only changes the key fob operation. Same for others?
View 1 RepliesI searched using all possible keywords, but to no avail. My back hatch got stuck about 3 weeks ago. I could not open it, but it showed as being open on the MFI. I took it to the dealer, and it was fixed. They said they replaced the locking mechanism. Well, it got stuck again this weekend and am taking it back to the dealer. Why did it get stuck again, even though they replaced the mechanism?
View 2 RepliesTrying to removing / re-fitting the small bin in the centre of the dash. My Australian Treg has the euro-version with the lid but I imagine it is the same to get out as the open-top version. I want to install my own version of a "pop-up nav" system in there.
View 6 RepliesWhat is the "type" of these dual filament lights and the proper way to access /change them? Do you pull off the lense from outside the vehicle or remove the inside trim at the top of the hatch and access from the inside??
Since only 1 filament is used can I simply reverse them to the used /non burned out filament or do the bulbs have pins on there sides that prevent that (like a 1157)??
When I went to unlock my trunk hatch last night the remote did not work. I then attempted to unlock the doors....still no joy. I attempted to lock the doors....nothing. I then manually opened the door, fearing my battery was dead (after reading the numerous battery threads) and the put the key in the ignition and it started right up? I then took the key out and locked the door using the reote. I unlocked the door and opened the back hatch with the remote. The only thing I could think was my step mother had unlocked her Dodge Durango that was parked next to mine...and maybe this confused my poor touareg!?
View 2 RepliesVW deciding to remove the engine covers on later build Tregs. Various reasons have been sighted (heat, rattles, hassle for service tech, psychology to have dealer service it). Now I've seen some pics people have posted of their new V10's and voila, the covers have returned.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 V8 treg...and recently I've been having a problem with the rear glass hatch not staying locked in place. When I open the trunk with either the remote or interior button it stays locked...but when I try to close it...the glass hatch pops unlocked.
Then I can hear the motor for the locking device in the hatch trying several locking cycles (during which you cannot lock the glass). I've tried several combinations of opening closing procedures but cannot get it to stay locked all the time. Sometimes I get it...and sometimes it takes several attempts to stay locked. Nothing looks bent or broken in the locking area...
