Last night my headlights came on as soon as I pulled the door handle. They were left in the Tunnel position(as they usually are). The doors were locked when I left the truck. Keys in hand. I had been parked in the rain, for 3 hours. It didn't repeat this morning in the dark garage.(they didn't come on til I turned the key, as usual).

It doesn't make sense. Its in Park, the steering wheel moves forward, yet it beeps continuously if the door is open before you hit off like you left lights on or something.
I just got myself 07 santa fe. Have small problem though. When I open the door interior lights are not going on, doesn't matter which door are open it is not working but I can turn them on manually, so fuse is fine I guess. What my be a cause of it?
View 16 RepliesI walk up the car, try to open rear door(doesn't open) drivers side door opens.. get the message, 'side light on' on MFI my lights are set as automatic, no turn signals on. try to start car w/ starter button, no go. try key, nothing. try full left, then full right(as if 1 battery dead) get 'immobile. active' finally got it started, after..[what did it] open hood, close hood. unlock/lock car w/ clicker several times. insert key w/ opposite side up.[normally when using the key, I have an emergency button up]. car starts.
Had a similar issue again later in a day, but got a key icon on MFI after it started. i'm going to try a different key, to see if that makes any difference. as starter button glows and clicker works to unlock/lock. I can't imagine the system doesn't see the key as visible. in the manual, it states that if the key doesn't appear present the immobilizer is activated.
My lid is "stuck" open. It looks like it is missing a part. Looking for a pic of the latch assembly or diagram if they get a chance?
View 5 RepliesI just purchased a Shimmering White 2012 Hyundia Elantra GLS last Wednesday. I love it so far!
The only issue I have (and I'm probably nitpicking). Is that I'll occasionally turn the car off (all accessories off, mind you), and when I open the Driver door, the car will 'ding' repeatedly. Again, no lights or accessories are on. I'm also not able to remote-lock the car after this happens.
The only fix I've found is to put the key back in the ignition and turn the car to accessory, then back to off...then the car doesn't 'ding' when I open the Driver door.
For the last couple of days my interior lights are not turning on until I open the drivers door. My Coming Home and Leaving Home functions are turned off due to the HID Headlights, but the interior lights worked fine since the HID installation in 11/13. It is a 2013 Passat SE 2.5. Is there a setting in VCDS for the interior light function.
View 7 RepliesSo I have a 2003 vw passat glx and I just had a shop replace my heater core. Anyways I got the car back and now when the drivers door is open the inside light doesn't turn on. It does when the other door is open.. Also when I lock the doors via remote it doesn't horn anymore.

View 4 Replies1400 miles now and loving it. When I open the driver's side door, I hear a motor sound not too dissimilar to the sound the seat makes when I insert the key. The sound lasts about three seconds. I was wondering what this sound is.
View 6 RepliesYesturday at about 3 pm i start to install my newly received kit from spock and all seems well slow but well, i get the wiring in place with no problem but i couldn't get the long purple piece to go in to the small black piece when it came time to reassemble, at this point it starts to rain outside and became dark so i figured i would just finish it in the morning. I try and lock the car and duh it can't happen i have all of that disconnected, so i manually lock the car. This morning i gt up first thing and manually unlock the door and open it only to find the alarm starts to go off. I put my key in the ignition as a normal response to shut the alarm off but the key gets locked into the ignition and now i am left sitting here at 7:30 in the morning with a car alarm that is going off and can't be stopped. I get out and close the door and manually lock the car and that stopped the alarm. Now the problem ... Every time i open the door the alarm goes off i close it, it shuts off.
View 24 RepliesSo, I've had the car a couple of months and things just keep getting stranger. I've been through my 2nd Airbag fault and now it's been returned from the dealer and every time I open or close the door the speakers "thump" once. I decided to remove the stereo to be sure it wasn't my IPod causing the problem and with the stereo disconnected the speakers still " thump" once when you lock or unlock the door. It's just a nuisance but I'd like to get it resolved because it will also sit in the garage and randomly thump for no reason. Another new strange occurrence is that the alarm now works, whereas before it was so quiet that it could hardly be heard. I suspect something between the door lock and alarm being the problem but the dealer is clueless. Other weird things like the seat not always moving when you put the key in the ignition , the alarm going off randomly when exiting the car are happening as well.
View 7 RepliesThe drivers side rear door on our 2004 T'reg is stuck shut. Neither the interior or exterior door handle will open the door. I tried locking/unlocking it a few times, both with the remote and with the interior button. Is this a simple fix, or is it off to the dealership with me?
View 2 RepliesJust picked up a 2005 and the hatch glass will not open. Tried everything that I have read on here and on ClubTouareg. It has to be the fuse or something. Pressing the button on the remote does nothing and neither does the switch on the driver's side door.
View 6 RepliesI'm unable to open my trunk door with the remote, using the key, or with the switch on the drivers side door. I am also pretty sure it is not frozen shut. Will I need to switch out the complete latch assembly or just need to wd-40 something? This is for a 2000 Passat 1.8T Sedan.
View 4 RepliesSo yesterday I installed a Kenwood Double Din with a back up camera....that being said I was in and around the car all day, door panels, trim panels, rear bumper etc etc all removed. After completing the install the "Door Ajar" light stayed on, on the dash. No interior lights remained on to show a doors open, and the trunk light goes out when the doors closed. The drivers side door module is no good, and its been no good for a few months now. It doesn't show when the doors open, so i doubt that is the problem. What it could be? Any way to figure out which door is the one that's staying open?
View 9 RepliesHaving issues with the door switches. My driver door, when opened, will cause a quick "door ajar" message then go back to as if I closed the door. Only once have I closed the door to have the dome light stay on. Doesn't do it all the time but is more frequent with the cold weather setting in. I got the service truck next week so its a good time to bring it in for warranty work.....
View 6 RepliesNow that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
So on my 2001 passat v6 the trunk wont open with the switch on the driver door for some reason and it seems the previous owner wanted to fix it and instead messed up and now the rear driver side door wont open even when its "unlocked".
View 2 RepliesSo the switch for my fuel door has not been working for a while. I can still manually open it by reaching through the liner in the truck, but it has started to get on my nerves recently. I tried changing out the switch and that didn't seem to work, it was a switch from the junk yard but I tried 2 different ones and neither worked. It might be the fuel door actuator?
