My avg MPG with mainly city driving was around 14 with 39PSI all the way around. I adjusted my tires up to the recommended 44/36 front/back and I am now at 16+ in the city.

View 3 RepliesFor some strange reason, my T-reg has set itself to 0.00 psi on all four tires. I went into the program and attempted to have it reset. The tire pressure "off" icon appears at the top of the screen and upon start-up the annunciator states that it is recalibrating. How long does it typically take to recalibrate before you get a psi reading on the tires? Shouldn't it come immediately? It still has not recalulated after 5 miles. Should I have VW service take a look at it or is their a simple adjustment I can make?
View 5 RepliesFor the first time in 3 months, I received the TPM fault message. I used my VW Digital Tire gauge and 3 tires were 30psi and one 33.5 psi. I added air to all of them. When I went to retest the pressure, I used the VW digital gauge and then an old stick gauge that I had. There was a difference of 4psi. The digital gauge read 34, the stick read 38. I then went to the local gas station and they tested it with their equipment. Theirs read 40psi.
What do you use to do an accurate measure of the pressure? I don't know what to believe. Is there a reading in the MFI? (The MFI showed me 0.0 on all 4 tires, cold and warm when the fault appeared, the symbol with the slash thru it. That's gone now since I drove awhile).
I just bought new tires for my Touareg. The tire pressure system is still saying I have a "defective tire" and then after a few minutes changes to "flat tire". How do I reset it?
View 6 RepliesIs there a way to completely disable the TPM system, I have turned it off in the MFI, but it displays a warning at the top of the screen, always. I put some Porsche 19"wheels on the Touareg without TPM. I took it to the dealer and they were unable to provide a solution.

View 15 RepliesHere in Boston it's 10 degrees out. Got the warning symbol for low tire pressure.
After I added Air to all 4 tires (47psi) on my 18" Conti's the warning went away, Until, I chose to select custom setting for tire pressure monitor. Since then the warning light has come back on and I can not get it to go away.
I finally got my Treg back from Montana today, on the drive back to WA, several times I get the message "tire pressure warning temporarily unavailable" or something along those lines.
Also, the VW shop in MT, only fixed the steering/suspension issues, they temp fixed the door so I could drive back to WA, I have an OffRoad Grey Treg with a purple mirror from some car, and a plexiglass window caulked in, hopefully it will go to the bodyshop tomorrow.
700 mile drive, 4 hours of which were through snow, the touareg was as surefooted as a mountain goat.
I am having a problem with my V6 early VIn Egg tire pressure monitoring system fault. I received the error so I checked the tire pressure on all tires. They were at the recommended levels. I therefore took it in for service and they had to replace the control unit. After picking it up from service, I received the error again. I took it back to service and they tried resetting the control unit. Well as expected, I received the error again. Currently, my egg is back in the shop as they are trying to resolve this problem. I also decided to have them fix the remote range since it's in the shop.

View 13 RepliesA friend of mine has an '04 Touareg and the tire pressure alarm keeps coming on. He has checked the pressure and it is fine. Took it into the shop and it wasn't giving any codes. It seems that it keeps setting off the alarm intermittently.
View 10 RepliesOkay, so 2004 Touareg. The tire pressure monitoring system is constantly on, it says that it's the left rear sensor. we've replaced the left rear sensor (twice) then we find out that the antennae that receives the signal that is broadcast from the sensor was dangling in between the fender and the fender liner and there was duct tape wrapped around the unit.
It seems as though a previous dealer decided that duct taping the antennae back to the fender was the best way to fix the problem. well now we have replaced the antennae, and the sensor and the problem is still there. I don't know if there is a wiring problem, but is there a way with the Vag-Com that I can just disable the TPMS system and just monitor my tire pressure the old fashioned way with a tire gauge? or Can I unplug the tire pressure monitoring system module without it causing the light to constantly stay on and beep at me? or can i turn off the beeping and deal with the light without disabling the beeping for oil pressure, or speed warning, or low fuel, or whatever?
Had some after market wheels installed and need to reprogram the tire stem valves as the tire pressure "Fault Light" keeps coming on. The dealer wants to charge per tire to do this!!! What is the VAG code to reprogram the stem valves?
View 24 RepliesThe Tire Pressure Monitor is now missing off of my menu. I was trying to show a friend tonight and I clicked on it, the screen went black, then the menu came back up minus the TPM. What happened? I have restarted my car and even reset the MFI, but it doesn't work.
View 11 RepliesThe Tire Pressure Warning went off every time I started the car. Checked pressure, no problems. I told the dealer, and he said that if you park next to another Treg, it can cause problems. I guess that the tire sensors are wireless and the interfere w/ each other.
View 4 RepliesI just purchased a V8 Touareg PPS and after about 100 miles, I received the message: "Tire Pressure Monitoring System Fault" in the MFI. Even though the error didn't indicate low pressure, I checked the tire pressures anyway with a digital tire pressure gauge and since they were just slightly off the recommended pressures, I increased the ones that were slightly low and decreased those slightly high and reset the monitoring system.
I then drove around for about 30 minutes while it relearned the pressures, and the system seemed to work for a few minutes -- I was able to read the pressures in all four tires again. BUT THEN, a few minutes later I received the same error again, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System Fault." What could be the problem? I'd like to know what it is before I take the car in so if any parts need to be ordered, I don't have to go in twice.
Have an 04 Touareg V8 with a tire pressure monitoring system fault. Dealer says that one of the sensors is bad - $400 to fix. Have heard that the TPMS in the 04 was bad, removed in 05.
View 10 RepliesOK, so I started the T and got the low tire pressure warning. I began to cycle through the MFI to see which tire was low and poof! I was in the convenience setup sub-menu. Now that's all I get. No other menus. I've tried everything I can and it seems to stay that way. been about a week now.
