Looks like I erased the Comfort setting in the MFI, I was changing stations at a light and noticed those menus, played with them for a bit and I hit it at factory reset. Since then I have not been able to get the Comfort menu to come up. Is there anything I can do to get it back or will I need to go to the dealer to get it reset?

View 17 RepliesA few weeks ago, my door unlocking settings reset to "driver's side" (I have it set to "all") 3-4 times in one week. I remember this being an issue with the 2004 models, but I was surprised to see it happen in my 2006... and then completely disappear.

Used to be able to keep A/C set on auto. Now the A/C and fan motor won't come on unless you turn A/C to Off and then hit the AUTO button.
Disconnected my battery for about 15 minutes to wire up HIDs. Couldn't put them in due to the nut not coming off the battery bolt. tightened battery and started car. dash has amber steering light on and traction light. when i put it in reverse (AT) it banged into gear, then put in "manual mode" trans jumped and banged into 3rd gear. also noticed 1 touch windows not working. What might have gone wrong from a simple battery disconnect. no additional wires were hooked up to the car or did i forget to reset something.

This glitch has been noted on repair orders and supposedly fixed at least three times now, but it's BACK. (So much for my wood knocks and no problems for three months.) Odd thing though, it'll reset to default three times in a row, then I won't have the problem for two weeks. Then, this morning, that annoying click, telling me now that my doors are locked at 5mph and my unlock door setting goes back to DRIVER SIDE ONLY (I prefer ALL as the setting). How to take care of it for good? I've had something having to do with this in my MFI replaced once or twice now.

View 6 RepliesAnyway, I'm starting to get really annoyed because our Touareg keeps losing it's keyless entry comfort settings at random. I always set it to unlock all the doors, flash the blinkers, and not sound the horn, but at random it will set itself to sound the horn and only unlock the driver door. I'm not losing power ever, I can't really see any particular pattern for when it happens. Sometimes it will hold the settings for months, other times not even a day. Really weird... What is causing it to change on it's own? This is a 2004 V8 with NAV if it makes any difference.

View 1 RepliesMy friend stopped into see me today cause he thinks I'm a VW guru. His LF tire was at 34 psi and the other 3 were at 44psi. Of course his low tire pressure light came on, but he told me he used to be able to see his tire pressure under the comfort portion of his computer display. He scrolled down to show me it wasn't there anymore. Where it went? He now knows why the light keeps coming on cause he has a leak. He should be able to monitor it I presume.
View 3 RepliesThe Tire Pressure Monitor is now missing off of my menu. I was trying to show a friend tonight and I clicked on it, the screen went black, then the menu came back up minus the TPM. What happened? I have restarted my car and even reset the MFI, but it doesn't work.
View 11 RepliesOK, so I started the T and got the low tire pressure warning. I began to cycle through the MFI to see which tire was low and poof! I was in the convenience setup sub-menu. Now that's all I get. No other menus. I've tried everything I can and it seems to stay that way. been about a week now.

Sitting still of course. Tried everything short of hooking up the vag tool but figured it could not make it reappear ??

I have 04 Touareg with Tire pressure monitor and etc.
Yesterday I've got an ugly "running gear" stop fault and after reading the forums perform "close the doors and push for few seconds the lock suspension button" and the issue went away. Then I went to MFI and notice that the menu option "Tire pressure" disappeared from the menu list. I check the tire-pressure system it worked, but menu item still not there. How I can get the item back?
My Ranger 2004 Edge wiper control lost all function save for the fastest setting. The day before I lost the lower settings but then they were there as usual. This also happened once before about a month ago and then it came back. Last night no such luck. Everything else seems to function fine. Where to begin?
View 10 RepliesI have an 08 Treg 2 V6. I have had little success at lowering the pressure setting at which the alarm sounds on my TPMS. The owners manual does not mention how to do this. The reason I want to do this is because my tires are rated at a max of 44 psi and my alarm setting is 43.5 psi which sounds every time the outside temp changes the pressure.
View 4 RepliesThe instrument cluster settings has not been working and they would not set when i would try to do this.It would go back to the same setting as before.They checked it on the computer and everything would register like it was ok but the computer could not detect the fault.Come to find out it needs a new instrument cluster and that was the fix for it after they took three more Tregs apart to make sure it would either work or not work at all.They all worked except for mine.It is being replaced and shipped overnight.
View 3 RepliesI recently purchased a used 2004 VW Touareg. The previous owner must've had long fingernails, as the driver-side fan button was extremely worn. At any rate, I was able to get a new button included in the "we owe" from the car dealer.
After the local VW dealership fixed the button, the LED screen that displays the temperature setting blinks when I start up the vehicle (like 15-20 times). It's very annoying to say the least.
While I was driving my car suddenly was losing power.I tried to hit the "gas" pedal harder and it didn't react.It stayed on the same gear and after 2-3 seconds it was ok. After 10 minutes it happened again but this time I couldn't do anything. I thought it was the transmission problem so I went into manual mode to shift it down. It didn't work at all - I was shifting down but didn't have power so I had to stop. I stopped put in P turn engine on and everything came back to normal.It's worth mentioning that one time time I had to pull over and I didn't turn the car off. After couple minutes the car started to vibrate and died. I turned on and everything was ok. Fuel filter or is it something else?
View 2 RepliesI flushed my brakes this afternoon and all went well until I got in and found a red series of lights on the MFI stating "brake fluid". I touched the brakes and there aren't any. I pumped them 50 times or so and still the pedal goes all the way to the floor board. I used a machine I have used on countless other cars and have never had a problem before. I used VW brake fluid. The brake fluid container is right at the max line. The only thing that was different compared to the other cars I have done is that the Treg has two bleeders, one on the front of the caliper and one on the back. I called a VW service consultant and he told me they use the outside one to flush the brakes and so that is what I did. My only guess is there is air in the system. But, I am not sure at all how that happened.
