View 6 RepliesWhere the air intake for the cabin air conditioning system is? The past several trucks I've owned had a cabin air filter which I replaced annually. They get filthy and I can see why this dirt should not get into the evaporator coil. It will reduce air flow and here in Texas we need all the air flow we can get (106 today). It shouldn't be too hard to improvise a filter to wrap over the intake (for a cheap fix).
View 3 RepliesI was just wondering where the interior temperature sensor of the hvac system is located?
View 2 RepliesYesterday, my check engine light turned on and in checking the scanner stated that it was a leak in the intake air system. I'm a student and don't have a lot of money, I was wondering if this something I can check myself or even fix.
View 4 RepliesI just recently had a noise issue fixed in my 2004 V6 which I thought sounded somewhat like the valve problem you described. The noise was predominantly a low RPMs (1500-1800) when under load (ie uphill, not in park).
It turned out to be a flap in the intake plenum which apparently can become loose on the rod it's attached to and cause a vibration. The parts they used were a ROD and a REPAIR KIT.
Just got my Touareg. When i turn on the headlights...how do i turn the footwell interior lights off???
View 12 RepliesThe other day my daughter's 07 FSI v8 would not start; no power other than interior lights: no instrument power, no seat power, etc. Assumed a dead battery. Hooked jumper-cables, the fan start running, the panel came alive, it cranks, yet the air suspension lock is stuck on, EPS off is stuck on, etc.; assumed a dead battery caused all of this, since the alternator is pegging 14 and we have had a long cold spell. We drive it to the dealer an hour away to get the battery replaced; they test the battery and say its fine; no problems with the computer check-out. They say it must have been a random event; or something ran-down the battery (which is impossible, since you can't leave anything on).
No issues a week later, except I noticed the check-engine and the EPC amber lights are on. However, since my wife brought it back from the dealer, I don't know if these are error codes that were never reset from the initial event or if they are new. Will have to go back to the dealer to reset; check-out. My theory is the fan stuck on for some reason (since it will run independent of the cockpit power) and the battery charged-up on the one-hour drive to the dealer, thus all seemed OK to the dealer.
Last night I drove to pick up my wife from work, well I got to the place and put the Touareg in park and shutdown the engine. The light switch was in Auto as it was getting dark and the lights had come on while I was enroute.
When I shut down the engine the interior lights stayed on, as well as the taillights I noticed. I sat in the car waiting for 10-15 minutes listening to the radio with the interior lights on. Was I draining my battery? Should I not do this in the future by switching the light switch to off from auto?
Where is the Air Conditioner Filter in Touareg V6? How and How long to replace it? I can't find the information in the manual.
View 8 RepliesThe other I has a slight side impact with my '04 Touareg and the only the side air bags went out. The good news is that the Touareg survived with only limited damage on the passenger's mirror and some scratches on the wheels. However the car shut down completely and would not start again!!! I was told there is a "cut off" switch that shuts down all electrical power supply to avoid any further issues that may occur after an accident. I was not able to locate such switch/ button if that exists.
View 1 Replieswhere is the Aux Audio Input? My owners manual is missing the booklet on the sound system, have no clue where this input is.
View 6 RepliesI picked up my V8 yesterday. Overall great car. I spent several hours at the dealer working out little things and doing some shakedown driving. So I finally am ready to pull the trigger. I pay, they hand me the keys, and I am off. It's now dark, the dealership is closing, and I have to drive home. I get in the car and the floor lights in the front (where your feet are) and in the floor of the rear cargo area won't go off. I play with every control in the car and cant get them off. The overhead lights turn off - no problem. Then I get home and turn the car off. They still wont go off. I have to pull the fuse to get them off so it wont run the battery down. Then I notice that the red instrument panel will not go off either - end up pulling that fuse too.
View 14 RepliesThe headlights went out on the automatic "arrive home mode" more than the programmed 15 seconds. The interior overhead and foot lights took as much as 5 minutes to cease and desist.
V6, silver/gray
As it's gotten colder, I've noticed my roof interior seems to be popping/squeaking, like really cold plastic shifting - hard to explain but when it's warmer, say > 40, I don't have it at all.
View 12 RepliesWhat would cause the interior lights and mirror lights to never turn off? Just started doing this? Also the radio is not working? All of this started today. It drained the battery and I had to jump it fir my wife after work. Is there a module or something that can go bad? I think the jettas r notorious for this kind of issue and it's a module in the door or something.
View 3 RepliesFinally I'm having my first issue with my Touareg! Coming to work today i noticed that even though i had flipped on my signal via the stalk, there was no mention of it on the dash and no clicking noise. I look off the reflection of the car in front of me and indeed me exterior turn signals work just fine. I get to work, shut off the car and turn it back on. Flip on the turn signal and the inside signal flashes once then goes off again. I again turn off and on the car and get the same result.
View 7 RepliesWhere is the LCM located in the T-Rag?
View 1 RepliesCar doesn't chirp or panic. Where the siren for the alarm is located ? Got t-reg back after service today and it doesn't work.
View 8 RepliesMy Nav system was working okay (the Treg is only 2 weeks old), and yesterday it kept showing me in the wrong location. The sky was heavily clouded and we were having heavy rain. Does the weather affect the system's ability to function properly? Do you need to calibrate it or is there a way to reset it?
View 24 RepliesI have a 2004 vw toureg 3.2l v6 and i have two questions. first is where are the brake pad sensors located in the pad or outside of the break pad? Second question is TPMS light is on due to a dead battery in one of the tires how do i kill the whole system?
View 1 RepliesSo I just got my air intake installed last night it worked perfectly until today in the morning,I turned it on to let it warm up for a few minutes then I started driving to work like 10 minutes after I drove it my check engine light came on so I went and got it scanned and was told that the MAF sensor was reading that the air intake was taking in too much air.
