Touareg :: Large Section Of The Rear Seat Is Torn?
May 18, 2006
The large section of the rear seat is torn. Its the part where the two buckles for the seatbelt are located. It was torn by her not knowing how to put the seat down properly. Anyways, we got it fixed (dealer did a terrible job, tried to replace torn leather with vinyl) and now its torn again. I myself went through the right procedure as outlined in the manual and it still ended up ripping.
Anyways, The dealer said it may be a fault in the way the belts were installed. Just trying to see if this is a line of crap or for real.

Just got a 08 hybrid with torn driver seat. I have to change the seat. Will any driver seat from a 08 escape fit it?

My friend stopped into see me today cause he thinks I'm a VW guru. His LF tire was at 34 psi and the other 3 were at 44psi. Of course his low tire pressure light came on, but he told me he used to be able to see his tire pressure under the comfort portion of his computer display. He scrolled down to show me it wasn't there anymore. Where it went? He now knows why the light keeps coming on cause he has a leak. He should be able to monitor it I presume.

I am a new owner of a used Touareg. I want to fold the rear seat and open up the luggage compartment. I can not get the rear seat pads to operate. I pull the red loop and it will lift to about a 45 degree angle but will not raise to allow the backrest to fold into position. What I'm doing wrong?

I know the Touareg has a problem with the rear seat belt locking and making it impossible to raise the rear seat after it's folded down. In fact, that happened to me and I'm going to have it fixed next week. Now, however, the front passenger side seat belt is stuck about 2/3 of the way out. Can't pull out more and won't retract.

I tried to search for this, so I might be alone here, had a rattling noise coming from the right rear seat / seatbelt area?

Didn't have time to break out the digital camera, but what the two black painted bars set into the back of the rear seat are?? Doesn't appear to be part of the locking mechanism, but I'm uncertain.

I have a 2013 F250 6.7 w/ 96000. I ran over a log and tore the rear section of the exhaust. I was told to buy the OEM version or do the DPF/EGR Delete.
I don't have a lot of $$$$, so which way do I go. Whats the least expensive Delete.

Hazard triangle symbol on the edge of the drivers side rear seat facing the door. Noticed it yesterday when detailing the new gal. Thought maybe there was a first aid kit or triangle under the rear seat, but nothing. What it's there for??

I Recently purchased a Phaeton. However just the other day I found out the left rear passenger door speaker (the large one) is blown.
The dealer also has another Phaeton on the lot. The difference between the two is my vehicle has the upgraded sound system while the one at the dealer does not.
I was wondering if the two speakers from the two cars are the same or if they're interchangeable.
My vehicle is a 2006 while the dealer's is an '05.

I noticed there was a relatively large oil leak coming from underneath the rear passenger door immediately after I started my wife's 2000 Passat (GLX -- V6). The car wasn't driven for about 2 days and immediately after I started her up, I noticed the oil leak coming out right in front of the rear passenger tire.
What kind of oil leak could this be? I've never seen a car leak oil from underneath the rear passenger door? I recently had the oil gasket replaced. After I pulled out, I noticed that the oil was kinda black and had an odor of gas to it. What this could be?

I had my car in the shop to have the seat-back recline motor replaced several weeks ago and just noticed that the seat no longer reclines (again) and now neither of the seat heaters work anymore. The seat did recline when I left the dealer but I didn't check the seat heaters. Is it possible a fuse for the seating heat unit blew? Unfortunately I can't find my owner's manual to look up the fuse schematics.

How many of us have this problem
There's a little crack near the base of the driver's seat. Is this normal? No. The carpet around both the driver's seat and the passenger's seat should be continuous and without gaps.
If there is a crack near the base of the driver's seat, this indicates that the seat base cover is not installed properly. This may have happened upon access to the vehicle's battery, which is found beneath the driver's seat and for which access requires removal of the driver's seat and surrounding facia.

I've noticed over the last few days that my seat position memory is gone. I thought maybe it was because i was using a different key, but that is not the case. I tried resetting buttons 1, 2, and 3, and neither set my seat to the position i specified. Button 1 is the only one that works, but it puts the seat all the way forward. Is my comfort module shot??? brand new car.

Isn't the driver's seat supposed to scoot back automatically when you turn the key off to ease entry and exit???

After a bit of a crunch to the underside, i've noticed some circular metal covering broke back and some wires are torn and exposed just behind the front passenger wheel on the bottom.

My 2006 GX was purchased with a torn second row, middle shoulder belt. The replacement belt just came in the mail today. I plan to tear into it this weekend, but before I do I was just wondering if any of you have any words of wisdom? It's kind of a weird, isolated problem, but you never know.

I just bought a 2005 GX470 with 107k miles. Very happy with my purchase. The truck is in great condition, very well maintained, super clean, with lots of service records. Previous original owner did not skip any of the recommended items when it came to service, including T-belt, water pump, etc.
However, while inspecting the SUV today, i found one problem. On the driver side, the inner CV boot is torn and it is spraying some gray looking grease around. The passenger side, looks fine.
My question is... how hard is to replace the torn CV boot on these trucks? Do i need any special tools? Should i just replace the boot(s) or do the whole CV axle?
I've replaced CV boots on Nissan Maxima and old Audi in the past and it was a doable but time consuming task. Both times, i wished i replaced the entire axle vs dealing with fixing individual CV boots.
