I have the keyless entry feature, but it's been acting strange lately. I keep my key in my right side jacket pocket & lock/unlock the door with the button on the handle of the car. Lately it hasn't been working....I have the hold the key next to the handle It seems to be doing this just about every other time I get in or out of the car.
View 2 RepliesLast week my keyless entry stopped working. The key-fob buttons still work but not the push buttons or open signal on any of the doors. Took car in for tire change yesterday and to check this problem. Dealer has checked all the modules, including power and found no problems. They are now working with VW tech support to see what to check next.
View 2 RepliesMy keyless entry seems to work only when it feels like it. I have had the remote TSB addressed and the range has not improved with the key. I can get the keyless entry to work often by holding the key higher, instead of just leaving it in my pocket. When I try to open the trunk most of the time have to hold the key up high to get it to open. Also my remote range and response to the remote is very bad and inconsistent.
I have read that there are two remotes for the Touareg. One for keyless entry and for without. I am wondering if I have the correct one. I saw a ebay sale for a key with the same part number as the one on mine but it did not specify for keyless entry. The part number on my key is 3D0 959 753 T. It has other numbers as well. Which one is the correct key for keyless entry. If it work for my vin is 0008500.
I would like to do keyless start, but can't until all my remote/keyless entry problems are resolved or the dealer will just blame the keyless start install for the problem. I love my Touareg so little things don't bother me, but would really like to fix this one.
My wife told me the other day her keyless entry quit working on our 04 touareg. The remotes still work but only at close range (I just read the sticky about this) but when you grab the handle and the door is locked it doesn't unlock any more. Also when the car is unlocked and you shut the door and press the black button on the handle the car does not lock anymore. I really liked that feature and had just showed it to her and then she tells me it quit working. I would rather not take it to the dealer if I can fix it myself. I looked in the settings and didn't see anything ...
View 7 RepliesI have then 04 Touareg V8 and my keyless door entry has stopped working. The dealer wants me to just leave it and they will work on it. The remote button still works it's just as you walk up to the Toruareg that the doors do not unlock.
View 7 RepliesWe're having trouble programming the keyless entry fob to unlock the doors. Seems that we can get it to open the automatic way (putting fob close to lock) but to lock and unlock using the buttons on the key hardly ever works. Is there someway to program through the MAF that im not seeing? (tried comfort settings) also tried resetting the key by unlocking manually and starting the car.

View 3 RepliesI noticed that the Treg unlocks automatically (without touching or doing anything) when I approach the PASSENGER side of the car, heck sometimes it even automatically unlocks again as soon as I lock it using the button on the passenger side door handle to lock...... this does not happen if i'm standing on the DRIVER side though... it almost seems like the passenger side keyless access antenna is super sensitive or something as the phenomenon does not seem to occure if i'm more than a few (5-6) ft away from the car...... is this normal/abnormal? can it be adjusted somehow in the MFI? I tried to change the door option on the MFI to unlock only one door and the problem seems to go away, but when ALL DOORS is selected, this always happens...
View 6 RepliesFor some reason, it just stopped working. I replaced the battery about a couple of weeks ago, and it has worked fine until today. it shows the red led on the remote when I press lock or unlock, but nothing happens.
View 13 RepliesAnyway, I'm starting to get really annoyed because our Touareg keeps losing it's keyless entry comfort settings at random. I always set it to unlock all the doors, flash the blinkers, and not sound the horn, but at random it will set itself to sound the horn and only unlock the driver door. I'm not losing power ever, I can't really see any particular pattern for when it happens. Sometimes it will hold the settings for months, other times not even a day. Really weird... What is causing it to change on it's own? This is a 2004 V8 with NAV if it makes any difference.
View 7 RepliesRecently the keyless entry buttons (lock, unlock, panic) buttons stopped working. The red light still came on (strong), but car wouldn't unlock. The key still works for starting the car, but having to use the manual key to enter.

Ensured this is Option Package 1 car, no push button to disable the SKS from under the dash Tried the reprogramming steps here in this post (though I would say they are not 100% clear) Read the owner manual pages 20-40 Gave up and spent $5 on another CR2032 battery (did not work).
I have prius 2007 of the Japanese make (140k miles). Yesterday, my keyless fob stopped working. I couldn't use it lock/unlock my car; however, it is starting the car just fine. I replaced the batteries on the fob but no avail. The small red light on the fob is shining like normal. There is no abnormal behavior in the car otherwise. What should I check?
View 8 RepliesWhen I hit the buttons on the remote the red light blinks so I assume it has power. But doors dont unlock, lights dont flash, and it can't open the trunk. Is there a fuse for this?
View 9 RepliesI'm having an issue with my 99 passat v6 sedan. The problem began when I noticed my keyless entry stopped working (lock, unlock, trunk release). Then when I tried turning the key in the ignition, it wouldn't crank at all. All my electronics started up though (headlights, cabin lights, radio, dash). I then noticed that the alarm light next to the door lock was not lighting up. I have a spare key, and it is having the same problem.
I checked the fuses, but none were broken. I imagine that whatever controls the alarm and signals from my key is broken. I don't know what this object would be though, if it exists, what it's called, where it would be, how to tell if it's broken, or how to replace it.
I have a 2007 with 247,000 miles. Recently when I go to get in the car in the mornings, the keyless entry will not work. Usually I just touch the doorhandle & it opens. It won't even open when I push the unlock button on the clicker. I have to take the key out of the remote to open the door. This only happens first thing in the morning when it is cooler & there is dew on the car. Later in the day, everything is fine.
View 9 RepliesSo yesterday, I posted this thread [URL] ... and I reprogrammed my keyfob successfully. The keyless entry works now, but I my driver door does not lock. I can't even lock it with the key. The only time it locks, is if I'm riving and it auto-locks, but right after I get out, can't get it to lock again. The red light on the door is flashing, my keyfob works, every other door locks. What I can do? It's a 2004 Jetta Wagon.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Chevy HHR. On Monday both the key fobs for the keyless entry system quit working. I took both fobs to my local auto parts place where they had a tester and both seemed to work ok. What inside the car receives the signal from the remotes and activates the locking mechanism. All other electronics within the car is working. On Monday we had to have the car jump started when someone left the key in the ignition on Acc setting. Besides testing the fobs I changed the fuse for the Body Control Module (BCM).
View 1 RepliesAll of the sudden the remote to my 2009 Subaru Outback stopped working. The car doesn't respond at all. I mentioned this when I had the car in for service and they tested my remote. They detected a signal that it was sending out so that means something is wrong on the car side and the remote appears to be functioning fine. Unfortunately I only have 1 remote (bought the car used). I didn't have them look any further into it because they admitted that they don't know what the problem could be and it would take time to investigate.

Used the key to get in and try to start...nothing. tried to open the trunk from inside. Nothing. Replaced battery about 3 months ago. No problems with that. Car is maintained religiously.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry I4. My RKE stopped working. First I checked the battery in the remote, it reads 3v like it should. I searched and found how to reprogram the the receiver, so I tried that. I did the door and key dance and got to where when you pull the key out and the door locks lock then unlock. I try pushing the lock and unlock button, then just the lock button as per the instructions and I get nothing. Supposed to get one cycle of the locks if it works and tow cycles if it doesn't. I get neither of those, nothing happens. So I buy a new remote off of eBay (brand new, never used, OEM remote). I try the reprogram door dance again and get the same results. The battery in the new one reads 3v like it should as well. So I go off to a junk yard to replace the receiver door controller, I found one and replaced it and I get the same exact results.
