I put in keyless start about a year ago (best mod ever) and about three weeks my keyless access stopped working. Keyless start works fine. Supposedly I need something called a Kessey module. Is there any chance the two are related? Is the Kessey module the thing you put the extra wires into for the keyless start or is it an entirely separate module?
View 16 RepliesLast week my keyless entry stopped working. The key-fob buttons still work but not the push buttons or open signal on any of the doors. Took car in for tire change yesterday and to check this problem. Dealer has checked all the modules, including power and found no problems. They are now working with VW tech support to see what to check next.
View 2 RepliesI have then 04 Touareg V8 and my keyless door entry has stopped working. The dealer wants me to just leave it and they will work on it. The remote button still works it's just as you walk up to the Toruareg that the doors do not unlock.
View 7 RepliesI have 2006 Touareg with original keyless ignition . But unfortunately it stoped working . It writes in the dashboard screen that the key not found . I replaced the key battery but it is still the same . The car doesn't open automatically as well . What could be the problem ?

View 12 RepliesI have Lexus Ls460 (2008), I have paint the driver door, so they removed the door handled and reinstall it after they finished, the problem now, the keyless access from the driver door not working, I can't enter unless I push the unlock button in the remote, all other doors working fine, and can be open without pressing the unlock button. So is their any way to re-program the driver keyless door? or it could be something wrong with the handle installation?
View 4 Replies2003 Sierra 2500HD crew cab, my keyless entry remote stopped working completely after I unplugged and connected some wires behind the glove box. I was digging around trying to find the cabin air filter, which I later found out this truck doesn't have one, when I unplugged some wires from a module so I could access the air box easier. I unplugged two plugs that had a handful of wires each, as well as 2 coax type cables. I re-connected all wires when I was done, but when I tried to use my keyless entry remote it didn't work. It worked perfect before this, less than an hour prior.
I had another remote battery so I went ahead and changed it, still didn't work. I tried reprogramming the remote by putting the truck in program mode with the procedure for this truck, but never got the truck to recognize the remote during this process.
I also disconnected the truck battery for 20 min, reconnected then tried reprogramming with same results, remote not recognized.
What the module is behind the glove box? Is it the BCM? Any reason unplugging these wires and plugging them back in would make my keyless entry stop working? I can't find any fuses related to keyless entry, and haven't noticed anything else on the truck not working properly. I really don't like going to a dealership, what else should I look at to diagnose this?
I'm having an issue with my 99 passat v6 sedan. The problem began when I noticed my keyless entry stopped working (lock, unlock, trunk release). Then when I tried turning the key in the ignition, it wouldn't crank at all. All my electronics started up though (headlights, cabin lights, radio, dash). I then noticed that the alarm light next to the door lock was not lighting up. I have a spare key, and it is having the same problem.
I checked the fuses, but none were broken. I imagine that whatever controls the alarm and signals from my key is broken. I don't know what this object would be though, if it exists, what it's called, where it would be, how to tell if it's broken, or how to replace it.
I have the keyless entry feature, but it's been acting strange lately. I keep my key in my right side jacket pocket & lock/unlock the door with the button on the handle of the car. Lately it hasn't been working....I have the hold the key next to the handle It seems to be doing this just about every other time I get in or out of the car.

View 7 RepliesMy keyless entry seems to work only when it feels like it. I have had the remote TSB addressed and the range has not improved with the key. I can get the keyless entry to work often by holding the key higher, instead of just leaving it in my pocket. When I try to open the trunk most of the time have to hold the key up high to get it to open. Also my remote range and response to the remote is very bad and inconsistent.
I have read that there are two remotes for the Touareg. One for keyless entry and for without. I am wondering if I have the correct one. I saw a ebay sale for a key with the same part number as the one on mine but it did not specify for keyless entry. The part number on my key is 3D0 959 753 T. It has other numbers as well. Which one is the correct key for keyless entry. If it work for my vin is 0008500.
I would like to do keyless start, but can't until all my remote/keyless entry problems are resolved or the dealer will just blame the keyless start install for the problem. I love my Touareg so little things don't bother me, but would really like to fix this one.
On last start up the starter sort of sounded odd, thought nothing of it. Went to go to the store again, and nothing. Keyless entry does not work. No activity at all. Used the key to get in and try to start...nothing. tried to open the trunk from inside. Nothing. Replaced battery about 3 months ago. No problems with that. Car is maintained religiously.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry I4. My RKE stopped working. First I checked the battery in the remote, it reads 3v like it should. I searched and found how to reprogram the the receiver, so I tried that. I did the door and key dance and got to where when you pull the key out and the door locks lock then unlock. I try pushing the lock and unlock button, then just the lock button as per the instructions and I get nothing. Supposed to get one cycle of the locks if it works and tow cycles if it doesn't. I get neither of those, nothing happens. So I buy a new remote off of eBay (brand new, never used, OEM remote). I try the reprogram door dance again and get the same results. The battery in the new one reads 3v like it should as well. So I go off to a junk yard to replace the receiver door controller, I found one and replaced it and I get the same exact results.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2008 Phaeton v8. The keyless entry feature on the exterior door handles has stopped working. The car neither locks or unlocks using the keyless entry feature. I tried using accessing the car with different key Fobs to no avail.

View 5 RepliesMy wife told me the other day her keyless entry quit working on our 04 touareg. The remotes still work but only at close range (I just read the sticky about this) but when you grab the handle and the door is locked it doesn't unlock any more. Also when the car is unlocked and you shut the door and press the black button on the handle the car does not lock anymore. I really liked that feature and had just showed it to her and then she tells me it quit working. I would rather not take it to the dealer if I can fix it myself. I looked in the settings and didn't see anything ...
View 7 RepliesI, like many, have had issues with my aux jack and decided to have it replaced with an aftermarket device. My aftermarket device plugs into the rear of the radio in place of the OEM aux harness. After removed the old OEM aux harness and installed the new one and put everything back together i had a problem.
The new AUX also comes with a USB slot as well and it all works properly, thats not the issue.
The issue is that my keyless remote has intermittently stopped working. I got out to lock the doors with the remote and nothing happened. I had no time to fiddle with it so i locked the doors via the keyhole and left it. The next time to went to my car, i tried to use the keyless and voila it worked! it locked AND unlocked. I was releived that it worked. Unfortunately once i drove and parked and tried to lock again - it didnt work . Needless to say it doesn't always work, ususally if i lock the doors with the key and come back more then 30 minutes, it unlocks keylessly.
The remote LED light turns on when i press any of the buttons so i know the battery is fine. I already opened the remote and confirmed the contacts are working properly. The only thing i haven't tried to do is reprogram the keyless remote (which i dont think is necessary).
Random symptoms - there are 3 circular dials (fan control, fan speed, temperature control) in the centre console. Originally ONLY the center dials LED lights would turn on. Now randomly the 3rd dials LED lights turn on again. I wanna start checking fuses but would like to know where to start.
A couple of days ago I tried to open my locked car by pulling the outside handle as usual, but the car door would not unlock. I then tried the remote key, but still no access granted. Finally I used the key to open the door manually. Upon starting the car, the clock started turning around and re-set after a complete revolution of the dial. I was not able to lock the car with the door button, but the door locked with the remote key......... I figured the battery in the key fob was low on power, so I replaced it. Everything worked fine for a day, but then the same issues returned the next day. The next time I drove the car, everything was good, and its been good for two days now.
View 7 RepliesI have a 1995 Dodge Caravan le which is in perfect condition throughout. But recently the interior lights stopped working when the doors are opened and when the keyless entry thing is activated. The overhead lights do work when manually pressed but the dashboard switch that is supposed to turn them on when in the far right position doesn't do anything. If I hold the drivers door open and push in the activation button on the door jam, I can hear the relay clicking but nothing happens. My mechanic said he thinks it might be a bad computer part and will replace it but didn't really want to. I can't find a fuse for the interior lights so don?
View 5 RepliesIf my prius 12V starting battery is dead, and my keyless entry prius is locked, would I be able to jump start my vehicle when I cannot enter it to open the doors, hood or trunk ? The problem is I do not know if the keyless entry is powered off the hybrid battery or the 12V starting battery. If the keyless entry is powered from the hybrid battery, then this is not an issue.
However if the keyless entry is working off the starting battery and that battery is dead and the vehicle is locked, I do not know of how to open the door or the trunk or the hood to jump the vehicle as I cannot access any place in the vehicle suitable to give it a jump start.
I just picked up my new Toureg today and on the way home from the dealership, the CD player prompted an "error" message, stopped working, and will nor eject. I go the upgraded sound system and I am very disappointed, to say the least.
